I don't care for long cut-and-pasted posts but felt this worthy ... Congress today announced that the office of President of the United States of America will be outsourced to India as of February 22, 2006. The move is being made to save the President's $400,000 yearly salary, and also a record $521 billion in deficit expenditures and related overhead the office has incurred during the last

Or, proactively pull over, get out of the car and assume the position. Wonder what they'd do in that case?

Rosamunde, obviously you Jim and Toby are the only ones who "obey" the law. Anyone driving 55 in a 55 zone will be run over around here.

Equal opportunity time for the police force. I don't know all the details about the situation yesterday at the Greenway and Loudoun County Parkway but do know that a police officer shot and killed the guy in the botched robbery or whatever it was. The use of force was definitely justified and they did an outstanding job of balancing restraint and aggression. Thank you for a job well done. h

Home Depot and Lowes have kits as well or if you're handy, you can just be creative, buy the lumber and have at it.

I've always been told that when someone runs out of substance to add to a conversation they start throwing out insults. Tina3 is of course pissed off because he disagrees but has nothing better to add or no other way to contradict what is being said.

still seeems to be some missing links. You could probably settle for $5K to $7K and be done with it (in 7 years). If you look hard enough you can find a lawyer who will take your money but in the end you lose (money) anyway. My suggestion is you should attempt to settle and move on with your life.

Please, don't use this forum as a cross section of the area. We're a bunch of cynics here. As with any metropolitan area, there are good and bad areas sometimes within shouting distance of each other. My advice to you is to live as close as possible to your job to avoid the commute. It will certainly affect your quality of life more than anything other single thing you can do. For someone to

more information than that apparently. I did go there and behind there is just an apartment complex. If anyone knows more than that, please feel free to email me with information. I'd appreciate it.

Is there a reason you didn't dispute the debts before the account was sold to a collection agency? I suppose what I'm asking is why did you wait so long before attempting to correct the situation? Certainly you were contacted many many times about the situation.

Not sure how much debt you're talking about but the legal fees may end up being more than the debt. You're probably better off attempting to settle the accounts for less than the face value.

Just as I suspected, the horrendous shooting of a kid is slipping into the gray area of legaleze. I have no ax to grind with anyone so no need to attempt to categorize me or anyone else here. It is apparent that nothing can bring back the kid. It is also apparent that the kid should not have died, meaning the cop should not have shot him. If the intent was to stop the vehicle, shooting tires

Typically, we are growing accustomed/immuned to the frequent fuck-ups of those sworn to protect and serve. I suppose this situation will be soon forgotten to all those except the closest family and friends of the murdered kid. In defense of the innocent killer, all the training in the world doesn't remove the adrenalin rush a shooter experiences when he has a target in the sights and is stead

I know this is old but this was a news blurb I received today on Verizon operations ... Verizon reports more credit information Verizon Communications has begun to furnish customer payment history, good or bad, to credit reporting agencies in a shift from past reporting practices. The move aims to reduce the number of delinquents and assist on-time payers in developing a credit score favorable t

maybe it is best for me to pull over and put my hands behind my head every time I see a cop. My kid sits in a seat behind me so I should take no chances.

The whole point of this post from the beginning was about jurisdiction - not whether or not I was wrong by not having a front plate mounted. According to what DC sent me, if a jurisdiction issued me a plate, it is required to be mounted. That is simple enough and I have no problem with that ... what I have a problem with is whether or not DC has the knowledge/authority to enforce the laws of an

Did he actually have to shoot into the vehicle to stop it? For that, he is an idiot deserving to go to jail.

Well, I finally got a response from the DC adjudication office. According to them, I still have to pay and I will. Now I feel silly for justifying the wages of at least 4 lazy assed DC workers. On the bright side, at least they didn't shoot me for not having a front plate. I suppose justice is served. I get to pay $50 and I now have a front plate. I wonder how many times I'll have to avoid
