Remember way back before the interchange of Rte 28/29 was built there was a Wendys on that corner. As well as BK and McDonalds. The BK and McDonalds relocated down the street, and I always thought Wendys relocated to Fast Food Central. Guess not. Perhaps they are overloading us a bit on Wendy's in this area. We have Wendy's on 28 in Manassas, at Fast Food Central, and two on Rte 50 in Chantilly.

Looks like Obama is gonna make a speech at Centreville HS on Saturday evening, so best to avoid the whole area after 11 am or so, traffic is sure to be bad what with the motorcade tying up all the roads then the masses of people who will want to go see him. I will be sure to be out of the area all day so as to avoid all the trouble.

Yeah or they could just close the turn lane and put a sign saying go up to Westfields Blvd and go over the bridge and get back on going south. Then nobody has to wait at a light!

A CO is a central office. The big, windowless buildings that say Verizon on the side. Houses big telephone switches. Any idea which CO it was? I wonder if any of the localities whose 911 service was impacted can investigate and/or fine/sue Verizon for this. It seems like a no brainer to perform periodic generator maintenance to prevent this from happening. Any commercial data center would do th

Thats right, the traffic light on 28 at E.C Lawrence soccer fields is out! The turn lanes are closed and the light is out. Everyone who has been inconvenienced by this light should go there immediatly and drive through it and appreciate what it could be like. Hopefully the light will still be out tomorrow so everyones commute on 28 south will be much less shitty.

Im sure they are working hard but since we can all connect to the network and or have a dial tone, that tells me this is a central office issue. This type of issue should be easier to prevent (its not an issue of trees taking down wires) and easier to recover from. Not having landline service is a huge issue, how are we supposed to call for help in an emergency? Also the fact that 911 centers do

Anyone else not have landline phone service? I didnt have a dial tone until 5 pm, and still none of my calls will connect. I know 911 service is down, but i cant call any of the other utilities because my phone doesnt work. Also same thing on Verizon cell phone, none of my calls will connect. I have been texting everyone.

I have electrical service capable of delivering 200 amps to my house. I can use all of this available capacity whenever I feel like it, assuming I pay the bill, which I do. My heat pump is on a 25 amp circuit, it is an energy efficient model. Delivering however many amps I am using is the problem of the power company. If my electricty goes out during this time of peak demand, I will send an angry

First we complain for years that the parkway never gets repaved. Then the status of the road changes and VDOT magically finds the money to repave the entire length of highway within 3 months of the change. (I have to wonder if they had or got obtain the money anyway and just kept holding it up) Now we complain that the repaving project is inconvenient. Anyway, I drive the parkway every day and

I don't think it would be possible to connect this road into Rt 28 north of willard and south of rt 50. There is only about 1/4 mile between the two exit ramps and people already have trouble with the weave there. Additionally, as mentioned above, you have the Fairfax criminal justice academy and the Long and Foster castle in the way of your proposed route. Perhaps though a connection could be m
