Thats right, the traffic light on 28 at E.C Lawrence soccer fields is out! The turn lanes are closed and the light is out. Everyone who has been inconvenienced by this light should go there immediatly and drive through it and appreciate what it could be like.
Hopefully the light will still be out tomorrow so everyones commute on 28 south will be much less shitty.

this light is more pathetic than the Popes Head light since the solution is twice a easy and 3 times as cheap - just build an entrance off of Braddock at the south end of the park - heck, it could just be a long driveway to the current parking lot if they wanted to be lazy about it. I mean, they own the property so it's not like it would be killer $$$$$.

Yeah or they could just close the turn lane and put a sign saying go up to Westfields Blvd and go over the bridge and get back on going south. Then nobody has to wait at a light!

I went down Rt28 when it was closed during rush hour last week. Guess what...Rt28 was still backed up all the way to Westfields. The back up there has more to do with the I66 interchange and the light at Braddock. Until they fix those, Rt28 will not get better. And I do not care about the light at the soccer fields as I never go to that park.

What the fuck are you talking about? My point is that light is NOT the traffic issue on Rt28. Its mostly the Braddock light and the shitty I66 interchange. What does the Manassas ghettos have to do with a traffic light at a county park? I do not live in Manassas. As for me calling the shots?? No idea what you are even trying to do here.

GFR is correct... once you get to 4:00 or so the light at the park doesn't really slow things down. You are just staring at the tail lights on the car thirty feet ahead of you while waiting for the light. Removing that light, as removing the ones at Willard and posts north of there did, will just move the bottleneck point to the next-southern light to 66. It really will not matter until there are zero lights from the toll road to ramps feeding 66.

@GFR - you'd have to do something about the church@66 before that intersection got fixed. Braddock light could be taken out at the same time. Park light is an easy fix which is why OP started the thread, I reckon..............

SYA Football season starts July 30 at that park. There will be a lot of cars coming from Centreville turning into that park during rush hour. Thats going to be a mess. I guess traffic going to the park will have to go up to Westfield Blvd and come back down in the southbound lanes to get there.

Though I haven't been down that stretch of road since July 1, I'm pretty confident the power is back on for that light since then.
