living in a commonwealth has it's pros and cons. arguing is not assault; verbally cursing at someone can be considered verbal assault. Punching a guy is an assault, stabbing a guy or hitting him with an object is malicious wounding or that + with intent to maim/disfugure/kill and the charges go on...
