I understand there was another oil tanker accident on 236. This happened yesterday, Sunday, around 11:00. Anyone have any details?

Is that what that was?
I was trying to drive down 236 eastbound around 1:30 yesterday also and the road was completely shut down.

Somebody dish some dirt!

Small fuel spill in Fairfax County

A fuel tanker truck was in a collision with another vehicle Sunday in Fairfax County, about a mile from where a tanker accident last month spilled 4,000 gallons of gasoline.

Sunday’s spill was only about one per cent as large as in the Aug. 28 incident, according to authorities.

Abouut 40 gallons of fuel spilled in Sunday’s incident at Little River Turnpike and Glenbrook Road, said Capt. Willie Bailey, a spokesman for the Fairfax County fire department.

He said the county's hazardous materials unit kept all of it from entering the sewer system.

It's just a matter of time before one of those Pickett Road tank farm tankers blows up and kills some Woodson kids or takes out a house along Little River Turnpike.

Yeah, probably. And it'll be some cellphone talkin moron in a 4-wheeler that causes it.

Bury the bodies and forget about it. I want to drive my car and the gas I put in it doesn't magically come out the nozzle. A big fucking truck brings the shit to the gas station.

Already happened - back in the 80s one blew up and burned under the 236 overpass at the Beltway, bad enough to melt the roadway on the overpass.
