Weirdest food you have eaten

Goat for me. I was on a trip abroad and it was served for dinner one night. It was NASTY - not to mention that it was an outdoor event and there were a shitload of goats running around everywhere looking for a handout.

I've tried goat meat at Indian buffets, I didn't like it either. It was curried which overpowered the flavor, but I remember it being sorta fatty and gross.

Not sure what I'd consider the weirdest. I've eaten alligator meat, blah. Very rubbery. And quite recently, I tried those dried, shredded squid snacks they sell at Asian groceries- yuk!!

I am not sure what part of the goat I was served but it looked like a baseball size hunk of bone, fat and meat. This was in Cuba and let me tell you, all the food there sucked. I would down rum after every meal in order to sanitize my mouth.

Chicken feet at the Vietnamese buffet in Sprinfield. They were seasoned but tasted about as good as they sound.

Beef hearts, I tried cooking myself once and they were pretty gross.

I've eaten goat, alligator, emu, ostrich and buffalo on many occasions.

Was abroad and I had helped some villagers - so they put on a big feast and I was to be given the head of a sheep. The meat from the cheek wasn't so bad, ditto the tongue. The brain was disgusting, they used lime wedges and would squeeze it into a little bowl with the brain in it. Only managed to swallow a touch of that. I had to draw the line at the eyeballs feigning being very full. Drank copious amounts of fermented sheep's milk that night...that's another disgusting thing. But they seemed to love it. Suppose tis an element of what you're used to.

I actually love squid. Calamari, grilled for a salad, etc. All good.

But those shredded squid snacks are HORRIBLE. And they're loaded with MSG too. Stay away!

Something on a skewer from a sidewalk vendor in Cuzco, Peru.

I regretted eating it when I realized I could not identify the meat.

It had a very unusual taste. But, I ate it becuz I was a hungry hippie.

It could have been dog for all I know.

It is gamey. My buddy hunted squirrel and would cook it and eat it. I tried a bite or two, but I couldn't get around the thought of it being a rodent.

after 10 days of surviving on plants, insects, fish and a few birds as part of a training exercise in Peru, a rat was as tasty as a piece of roast beef. I wanted to eat my lieutenant, but I didn't want to spend the rest of my life in that jungle.

Yes,,,and you're right. It's tasteless and dicusting.

Like I said, I think every culture has their delicacy or

something that is a staple that they never think twice about.

What do we have in the United States? That other cultures

might say.."OMG, that is so discusting. How can they eat that?"

Do we have anything like that?

I've never had the courage to eat uni. We were out for sushi one night and my friend ordered it. He said it was like a ball of pflegm that tasted like seawater and wood. Someone else I know really likes it though, I'm just not daring enough to try it.

Sea Cucumber, raw, with spicy sauce. VERY slimy but if you like that sushi taste its really good.

Raw squid, again with spicy sauce, very disgusting feeling but it doesn't taste as bad.

Jellyfish, seasoned and mixed with vegetables. Has a spicy tangy feeling to it.

These little white and black bugs that live in shells in trees. Vendors in Korea sold them steamed in this pot and you pay like $1 for a cup... didn't feel that at all, and the smell... oh god don't get me started.

Praying Mantis, dead and trampled on, was given $105 to eat it.

Sea snails that live on the coastal rocks on beaches. collected than thrown into a pot with various seasonings. Yumm!

Ants in my soda

Cookie with larva growing on it fed to me by a teacher in Kindergarten. Mom flipped when she heard that I saw a grub crawling on my cookie.

Spiders in my sleep, (average 5 per year per human, don't sleep with your mouth open)

Pig sausages, rice soaked in pigs blood and mixed with noodles stuffed into pig intestines and cooked. Served with a salty spicy powder dip.

Dog soup. The rule is, the more you think about it, the harder it is to eat. I had one sip and I was done. Never will I eat dog again...
LASSIE!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nom nom nom

Chocolate covered cricket

Those black chinese eggs or something. Supposedly they bury chicken eggs in the ground for a LONG period of time like a couple years or something and dig it up. Its all black and salty into a jello type of thing. Soy sauce added? I Don't know but it was alright.

Bear- very good, but kinda stringy
quail - yummy
grouse- very tasty
rattlesnake- awful
wild turkey , very good,
squirrel- decent- a nutty flavor, excuse the pun
boar- very good
Elk- like gamy fatty roast beef , it was ok
moose- ditto at Elk
deer- very good
ants- they were ok, no big deal.
magic mushrooms- I dont remember .

and of course the heart and liver from most of the animals above. and every time, no matter how drunk we are at camp, it is always nasty.
