Well, the two of us voted for burgers for dinner before the game last night. We would have settled for something from Elevation Burger, but upon arriving in Vienna, we found that the location there had recently shut down, so we simply kept on down the road to the GAR Patsy's and Randy's complex across from Tysons and ordered a pair of bacon cheeseburgers with wicked sauce. Ooey, gooey, bacony, cheesy, beefy goodness! And the fries are nice as well.

Sadly, the game was not nearly as satisfying, but today is another day indeed, and for those of us out in the ever delightful Sweet Spot, it's looking like another very nice one. We did have better than a quarter-inch of rain overnight, but aside from a few lingering clouds, all that is behind us now. The place is looking sharp after an initial mow by the grounds crew on Friday, and it should look even butter under a whole lot of sunshine today with single digit breezes and no real chance of rain again before sundown. Sounds like a winner.
So of course does Real President Joe, especially in comparison to the ousted noodle-head and total Ding Dong who gave another rant-and-rave performance at an RNC event held at the Mar a Lago Old Folks Home last night. Calls for GOP unity interlaced with vulgar swipes at both Mr and Mrs Mitch McConnell. What a horse's ass. A further slap in the face came from Real AG Garland as the Justice Department dropped a Trump-era appeal of federal court rulings that favored so-called 'sanctuary cities. Dumb Donald was so wrong about so close to everything.
In other news, Zimmie had three more hits and Soto hit a pair of homers versus the Dodgers last night, but Dem Bums won anyway by a 9-5 score. Just off the COVID list and just not in a groove at all, Patrick Corbin got tagged with a five-spot in the second, and the Nats were never in the game again. The finale of the series will see Max Scherzer working against Clayton Kershaw in what would have been a mega-marquee match-up not so long ago. Neither pitcher is what he once was though, and as the Nats just aren't very good and also aren't playing very well these days, LA's completion of a series sweep could well happen, and then we'll get to go off and play three in STL. Sometimes bumpy roads lead to really ugly places, and we do kind of seem to be headed toward one of those. .
Another one of those of course would be found in futile Falls Church City, home to such large numbers of low-grade liars and cowards, but very little else. The place is basically just a amenity-free dump with very little to offer to anyone who isn't fond of lot sizes smaller than a decent modern floor plan.
