It was a bit on the brisk side at 34 degrees one when I arose earlier, but the trip out and back to secure the morning paper was marked most prominently by cloudless bright blue skies and the spring sounds of a great many songbirds. We will be surging next into the low 60's by late afternoon, with no wind and no rain in sight -- just those beautiful bright blue skies and a whole lot of sunshine.

Mwanwhile, easily foreseen repercussions from the disgraceful speech of evil Ex-President Ding Dong and his clear racial animus continue to bring pain across the country, as millions are driven to protest anti-Asian bias after the slaughter in Atlanta. Well, these poor tattered Whiffies are just plain stuck down a dead-end, one-way street. There is no way back from any of NWS, CMYK, or 1986 for them, so they just keep sputtering along in manic repetition of their same old stupid shit stutters and stammers, thinking that this will somehow impress someone who read the actual real-time NWS reporting, saw the actual CMYK street view, and visited The Actual Broad Street on many an occasion. On the plus side, these loser-dopes have been in just this same sort of hopeless situation so many, many times before that the utter humiliation of it all is not likely to phase them much.

Neither will the simple facts that the paragon of area living known as the Sweet Spot is up, up, and away, headed toward yet another terrific day. It was 34 degrees under a beautiful clear blue sky when I got up and headed down to grab the morning paper. No real wind and no real chance of any precipitation, and we should be headed here into the low to mid-60's over much of the rest of the day. The coming weekend will meanwhile see us back in the 70's once again, so that will be nice as well. The pileated wood pecker was spotted at the feeders yerterday afternoon, but there hasn't been any other notable wildlife sighting lately.

Real President Joe is meanwhile making his way up from the wreckage and remnants of what was once a functional if quite misguided immigration system to deal with the latest influx of migrants at our southern border. The GOP -- already for years alarmed by the decreasing whiteness of America -- is of course quaking in their apopleptic boots over all this. It's a distraction after all from their important on-going work to limit or simply deny voting rights and opportunities to large but insufficiently white populations and communities all across the land. What an America-hating bunch these idiots have become.

In other news, shoulder soreness for suddenly ineffective former Nats closer Tyler Clippard has turned out to be a capsule sprain. He'll be out for six weeks or so. Another former Nats closer RHP Mark Melancon (35) had another nice outing for SD. He and his family stayed just a couple of doors down from our SEDC townhome during his late 2016 stay in DC. Very nice people, so easy to root for. Down in West Palm Beach meanwhile, Max Scherzer tossed three shutout innings at the Mets, but he stayed aeound for five and gave up four runs in the process. Tanner Rainey walked three while getting just one out, and the DC side ended in falling to a 6-2 defeat. Although there hasn't been much of them to see on TV, they are looking more and more like a fourth place ballclub at this point, and that's assuming The Fish have a bad year.

Fourth place would of course be a huge step up for the ever cellar-dwelling slugs of Falls Church City. Wallowers in ignorance, envy, and butthort in the best of times, it might be that FCCPS should consider broadening its current COVID mental health initiatives from middle school students to those of middle school capabilities scattered in despair across the broader community.
