Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Finally we figure out Sophia is dead, hopefully they'll move off the fucking farm soon. One reason I thought the first season was cool is because of all the different apocalyptic locales such as Atlanta, suburbs, mountains, etc. I wish they would hurry up and get back on the trail to that military base or whatever they were heading to on the highway originally. I simply don't understand how the writers possibly thought it was a good idea to bog down the first half of this season at a fucking farm.
The walking dead is amazing, and twilight did in fact fuck up vampires and werewolves, but the walking dead is freaking awesome, anyone care to question me on the awesomeness of that series, you go right ahead
"I hope the daughter and Glenn get written off somehow, they are irritating and drag down the whole show."
The best thing that could happen is they are swarmed by zombies while they are fucking.
Maybe a zombie will bite off Glenn's dick, if he can find it, as we all know that asian's have tiny peckers.
Looks like the 2nd half of season 2 is going to feature a little distrust between shane and rick and maybe even a fight or the two are fighting their way through a horde and shane does what he does best, protects himself? also rick's kid finally gets some trigger time.

Rick shot the fat Philadelphia guy in the head, even when he didn't need to is because he is used to shooting walkers.
They were from Philly...they had to die. Also, Renee is a serial killer that murdered his own sister for screwing a vampire so it's best Rick put him down. Previews for next week look pretty intense. When is Carl going waste some zombies (or Shane)?
This show has convinced me to avoid women in the event of a zombie apocolypse. They fuck your best friend and get pregnant, shoot you in the head thinking you're a walker, cry...all the time, actively disregard all orders put in place for their own protection just to assert their independence and end up getting killed or nearly killed (requiring a guy to come save them) and I'm pretty sure walkers can smell their menstration...
Okay, that was a cool ep. I liked the zombie pushing its face through the broken windshield to try to eat Laurie, and the outsider black guy getting shot and then his face eaten alive by zombies. That's some good zombie horror right there.

Yeah, the walker's skin peeling back as he was pushing through the windshield was cool, and the guy getting his nose bitten off was hilarious.
I wish they had left that degenerate kid impaled on the fence though.
I think a gangbang of Herschel's daughter should take place next episode. It should be Shane, Rick and the black dude pulling a train on her while the asian watches.

Shish-ka-babe? Meat on a stick?
They had to bring him along. If the writers can't introduce new players to the farm and the current residents keep getting picked off one at a time..the story line isn't going to be very long.
That fucker with the leg stuck on the fence was shooting at them a few seconds before he dropped onto the fence. I probably wouldn't left him for the zombies to eat, either, but he is going to be a problem.
That whole scene was awesome. Herschel was instinctively thinking about helping the guy he shot when the fight was over, because he's a doctor, but when the zombies came to eat the guy's face it was like, "Fuck it, I'm out of here!" LOL
So Laurie is using her super female logic on Rick to convince him to take Shane out. Interesting.. Why not just say "Oh yeah, and at the CDC he tried to rape me"? Rick would be more inclined to kill Shane after that... Also noticed Hershel use the term "walkers" and I can't help but feel like Andrea will begin to develop an irrational (she is a woman, after all) fit of jealousy with Laurie over Shane and maybe try to attack her? Expelling the trouble makers is going to be a group effort, but when it happens I'm betting the group will have dwindled by one or more...

When Rick ran across the two dead policemen (guards), it reminded him of some sort of oath or his times with Shane in the shit' --- seemed to bring him back to the moment and rehash his thinking of leaving Shane.

I think the kid is young and not too adept at keeping secrets, so he is being overly careful, which makes him look ignorant. I am cutting him some slack on this...
Shane DID try to kill Rick, amazing that Rick is trying to weather Shane's temper while still keeping him part of the pack. I think that Rick has a use for Shane and has actually let go of his previous "friend Shane" --- something calculated happening in Rick's head...he knows the fuse on Shane is there, but has it timed IMO.
I think that was Rick's last straw of friendship left...Shane is now just a work-horse to be used and disposed of at a later time.
Rick still thinks he's a cop, which is annoying enough, but Shane has gone totally over to the survival of the strongest mode. They are both useful and dangerous at the same time, but Shane is worse.
That shit with Lori and Andrea was coming. Lori is fucking annoying. She's a good match for Rick.
And how is that kid walking around? Didn't his leg get torn up when they pulled him off the fence post?
I was happy with it overall. Lots of zombie action. The zombie pile-up on top of Rick was pretty cool, and so was Shane getting them to lick the blood on the bus so he could stab them in the head.
That was a QUICK heal on the kid's part --- even if they stitched him up at the farm. When he was on the fence, leg spiked through, they said it was dire and not worth it, but now he can drive?
I have to give the series credit, there are not too many of these moments so far...where we can nit-pick'.
So now Randall is going to likely become a part of the group, thus rendering asian guy NOT the only guy on the face of the earth left for Herschel's tramp daughter to bang. I predict trouble brewing there. Andrea has been banished to the RV which is home to the only person that wants her around but she can't stand...I really wish she'd die. Shane has shit on the carpet one time too many and Rick finally put his nose in it and swatted him in the face with a rolled up news paper for good measure. Andrea is going to want to be ultra-proactive now that she's being pushed around but won't have Shane for support since his tail is between his legs. Only a few episodes left to develop some real fucking conflict and get the people off the farm.
tomahawk, I wondered about zombies finding the farmhouse too. I wonder if the zombie in the suit walking through the field supposed to be some foreshadowing of a zombie horde attacking the farm.

This episode was the right blend of drama and action...
I wonder why there was a brief focus on Shane examining the two infected police officers. No bite marks on either of them, it's like there is going to be some other way people can get infected.
Beth and Maggie are fucking obnoxious simpletons. I don't know how a doctor could raise such simple minded farm girls.
I think the zombie wandering around in the field was just some kind of reminder of how fucked up the world is, that they are cruising down the road having a casual conversation and Rick doesn't even bother to notice the dead guy walking around over there.
About the dead cops with no bite marks, a coworker of mine who reads the comics says that means something later on. I don't know what, though.

I think it means cannibalism.....the two police officers locked themselves in that depot, I remember there was also a brief emphasis on the burned bodies in the corner and the empty canned goods laying around.
Probably eating infected people turns cannibals into infected themselves.

Good call. Mrs. Strife suggested the same thing - that they ate something infected (probably a person). They didn't look too bad for zombies. A little discolored, but otherwise ok which means they weren't dead all that long and went at the same time since if one went before the other one of them would be dead or eaten.
For all those speculating about the unbitten cops:
SPOILER ALERT
The truth is that the virus lies dormant in everyone, so if you die of natural causes without being bitten, YOU STILL COME BACK AS A ZOMBIE. This is what Jenner whispered into Rick's ear at the CDC, he hasn't told the others because he doesn't want to spread panic. This is why Rick shot fat Tony in the head at the bar after he was clearly dead, and why he was so quick to come up with an excuse for Shane.
This isn't just my theory, based on other walking dead boards and the comics this is likely true. It is a good explanation for how most every military base got overrun; they weren't breached, but someone died naturally inside and unbeknownst to others became a zombie.
Rick hasn't told the others because he doesn't want them to despair. How hopeless is everything when even if you manage to not get bit, when you die you still are a zombie?
This hasn't been officially revealed yet, but likely will be before the end of the season.
it makes sense but doesn't explain how the virus that causes the zombie transformation to occur could have spread so quickly unless it was a biological attack on every continent all at the same time.
So when Daryl steps in to take the gun from Rick is that him changing his mind on the whole "this group is broken" position or do you think it's something else? Rick and Daryl have a weird relationship. Rick says "Get him out of here" and Daryl pulls the kid up and starts moving him without a word. Shane would have pitched a bitch fit... All that said, I nearly chocked up at the end. And fucking CARL now! Little bastard is fucking everything up for everybody else all of a sudden. He lost Daryl's gun in the woods and led the walker straight to the farm. Doesn't help that the cattle busted a hole in the fence... If the little turd is going to be a badass he is going to have to learn how to pull the damn trigger. Really kinda worked up over this episode...

Yes, Carl needs to get his arms and legs eaten off by a hoarde of pedo zombies.

As long as he doesn't start torturing the farm animals, he should be fine. That's how most serial killers start.

This episode was so slow until the end, a whole show wasted on the merits of whether or not to kill some degenerate kid.

Blood-bath on the horizon --- who makes it and who dies in the last episode of the season?
And, does the crew "5 miles down the road" come into play during the upcoming attack? Maybe they gain trust and become part of the series? New characters added to the cast from the "Randall crew" --- my long shot guess is Daryl's brother (The one with the hacked off hand - Merle) is one of the guys in the crew up the road.
Predictions:
Crew from up "5 miles" up the road come into help during the attack.
One of the crew is Merle --- Daryl's brother.
DEAD from the attack = T-Dog, Carol, Hershel's son (that we do not know) and some of the Ladies there Lacey/Susie/Rachel (Not Maggie).

Yup. I wonder what the logic is behind that. I guess that means cemetaries provide endless supplies of new zombies.
I'm kind of surprised they killed Shane off. He was the main source of drama.
Michonne will make an appearance.
Jimmy gets mealed on.
Laurie freaks when Rick tells her about Shane.
Entire group freaks when Rick tells them the truth about the virus (you zombify when you die)
Holy shit, that was a good episode. So it's proven without a doubt that everyone is infected, and everyone comes back as a zombie, and now we've got Night of the Living Dead home invasion happening next week.
As far as the cemetery comment, they were dead before the viral outbreak, the bodies aren't infected.
I hope the Asian kid and his annoying country girlfriend get eaten next week.

HA! They've made a point of zooming in on a couple of baby seats now, once in the school bus a couple episodes back and once when they were scavenging in the abandoned cars. I thought it would be cool to see a zombie infant strapped in a baby carrier.
At what point do they run out of bullets? I mean, they may have a few cases but if they get into a "war" they will soon run out. Time to start making some hand made weapons.
Maybe this invading zombie army will stop and be satisfied with the livestock. I mean, the field is full of cows and there were horses and chickens in previous episodes.
Preview scenes suggest that the horde makes it to the house and Glen is riding in the window of a truck blasting away as they haul ass off the farm (finally!)

Well, I fucking missed it. AMC isn't showing it again at 11 like usual, so they fucked me on this. I didn't record it so I missed it so fuck it and fuck AMC. I'll get somebody at work to just tell me what I missed tomorrow if I don't read it here first. Fuck I'm pissed off.

Just watch it on iTunes. They release the new episodes early Monday mornings.....
...it's why I always comment on the series on Monday after.
Laurie remains a bitch. She gets all pissed off that Rick killed Shane when it was her who told him she thought Shane murdered that other guy. She goaded him into it, and then she acts surprised that psycho Shane gets knocked off.
Meanwhile Rick is turning into a dick. Being married to that bitch, I'm surprised it took him so long.
And what's the deal with that hooded figure Andrea meets in the forest? It looks like he has a couple of armless walkers on leashes. I guess having walkers with you throws off the scent and protects you from other walkers, but why aren't they attacking people? Not having arms doesn't mean they stop trying to bite.

She's from the comic. Forget her name. She cut their jaws off also. Can't bite without a jaw.
Rick's wife needs to go. Perhaps it's the sickness getting to her, or maybe just the stress but man, I hate her more than I ever hated Shane.

Rick is losing his cool, calm, and collected attitude.
Herschel's shotun seems to fire 50 rounds before needing to be reloaded.
Is introducing some sort of katana ninja where the series jumps the shark?
LOLLLLL at the racism. The hooded figure pulling around two black zombies on chains. There haven't been that many black zombies so far, but of course the two with collars on happen to be black.
I guess the prison is where they set up camp for the remainder of the series.
