As a fellow dog owner, I make sure that my dog walks/pees/poops on the grass closest to the curb. I also pickup any dog poop with my doggy bags and dispose of it at home. THIS IS FAIRFAX COUNTY LAW. Police don't "protect" anyone. Nor are they required to according to the SCOTUS. They respond to calls. It is up to each individual to protect themselves.
