The Board has listed off every single land-use and transportation issue that have been raised from the very beginning. This is an amazing thing to observe!

Pat Herrity introduced a motion to block the expansion, and he cited a long list of complaints which we're all familiar with. An increase in traffic fatalities, development out of character with the surrounding area, development in an environmentally-protected region of land, the surrounding communities being 100% against the expansion, etc.
After seeing a number of Supervisors agree with the text of the motion, I wrongly assumed that it stood a good chance of passing.
Heh. I forgot what county we live in.
The supervisors turned around and killed Herrity's motion 6-4, and then proceeded to introduce and approve a counter-motion on the same lines.
The good news out of all of this is that if any of you ffxu'ers run a private school here in the county, it should be trivially easy to get any project you want approved at this point.

These Fairfax officials should be ashamed of themselves. This is appalling that they permit this to happen. The Saudis are laughing about it, probably. Silly American politicians.
