The first time I ever saw The Ramones at The City Gardens in Trenton was truly one of the most memorable concert experiences of my entire life.... it was like a seismic event inside the club.... that was some serious fuckin PUNK ROCK!

Their albums are sorta hit-or-miss, but they were one of the greatest live rock acts EVER....

Some more 60s garage rock.... figured this political/anti-cop rant would fit in perfectly with the common themes of FFX Underground. I saw their reunion tour at the Black Cat a few years ago, these guys still really rock...

Here's The MC5 with "The American Ruse"...

The Papas Fritas song is from a Dentyne Ice commercial (the chick in the subway who puts ice on the window with her breath). I think the Concretes song is from a wireless service ad (say something new) and the Paul Oakenfold song has been in like every VH1 and MTV bumper and promo for the past two years. The guy rapping in the Oakenfold video is the lead singer from Crazy Town which did Butterfly...

Glad you liked the Sweet recommendation.

I have nothing against EverLast. It's just that that song has been played so much I can't stand it. I like Barenaked Ladies, too. But I can't stand "One Week" anymore because of how often it has been played.

I completely stopped listening to commercial music radio ten years ago, and am usually clueless when it comes to whatever mainstream bands are popular, but even I know that Everlast song has been played to death. I can't imagine what it's like for people who actually do listen to the radio (bad pun intended).

Peter Tosh was sort of a living legend. And by that time, Mick Jagger was a complete tool. I wish the Stones would have broken up after Goat's Head Soup and saved us all the embarrassment.

That second song demonstrates the superior sound of vinyl. The popping, hissing and cracking are much better than compression and sample rates.

You seem to be as mentally unbalanced as Meade. I guess you can't take it when people point out that you listen to crap music.

Still don't get the hostility. Are you a latent homosexual like that Marine in American Beauty? Are you going to shoot your neighbor because he spurns your sexual advances?

You mean like Crosby, Stills and Nash, who recorded her songs? Or Prince, who calls her on of his biggest influences?

So how many pizzas did you deliver last nite, Alias? I'm guessin' you were probably pretty busy out there.

Hey, does that sign on the roof make your car more aerodynamic? I always wondered that. What about taking it off? Did you ever scratch up the roof of your car trying to take that thing down? That would suck!!

You might know this song from the VW commercial. It's Pink Moon by Nick Drake. He was a failed folk singer in the early 70s. He delivered the master tape for this album to his record company and OD'ed a few days later. It was weeks before the record company discovered the tape. The tape initially consisted of Drake with just a guitar. The piano in the song was added after his death for the album's release...

WashingToneLocian, Here's a good performance of the 3rd movement. And, only the piano, no strings... which is how it was written.

This performance underscores the "great" in greatness. I can't even fathom how much time and study went into be that good.

Whenever I listen to the White Album I always crank this song up. Haven't seen any Beatles posted on here yet...

The Beatles
