A song that totally illustrates the whole 90's grunge scene. I forgot about this obscure tune by Alice in Chains, but they played it on Sirius earlier. It made me realize that the whole "grunge" scene wasn't that bad after all. I cranked this in my car, this song rocked.

Alice in Chains- "What the Hell Have I?

Errr, I would have to say "The Flame" came pretty damn close to selling out.

That said, they put out one of the greatest live albums of all time...

They didn't write "The Flame". Their record company forced them to record the song, and then marketed it heavily to the soft-rock and adult-contemporary radio markets. It was not the bands' doing, and I remember reading how despite having a huge hit, the band wasn't very pleased by this naked commercial venture, and they felt like they had been used. Brilliant move by the record execs though.

After Ozzy and Ronnie James Dio left Black Sabbath the band picked up Deep
Purple's Ian Gillan on lead vocals. Gillan only stuck around for one album,
Born Again, which is widely disparaged as one of Sabbath's worst. But there
was one song on it I've always considered to be "classic Black Sabbath".

Good tune... when I was a kid I freekin loved Tony Iommi's shred-solo in this song.

Black Sabbath- "Trashed"
