I was listenig to Steve Czabans morning show on the way to work and they were talking about how 10yr contracts rarely end well. Atheletes across any sport almost always underperform over the life of the contract. I think that 10yr Ovie deal was Teds worst decision by far as owner.

Its not bad news for the Caps because tougher competition all year will be better preparation for the post season. They don't have to be the best team all year to win the Cup, just the best team last half of year.
