I'd make bank since I have put options on US bonds, and get out through my second passport.
Quite frankly, the country's so far in the toilet, new management would likely benefit the fortunes of most of its people.

China would never invade the US (nuclear deterrent). They'd just fight some proxy war against us in some 3rd world country and we'd fall for it. Just like Korea and Vietnam. We didn't care about those places, we were fighting the influence of Chinese communism on neutral soil.
Nowadays, we might be fighting them in the middle east for oil. Our military is deployed all over that area, and China gets alot of oil from Iran....
