They have the right to make a restaurant that people don't like, and VCDL members have a right to tell each other not to go there because they wouldn't like it. What is the pro

The law that allows open carry is the same one that allows property owners to decide whether others are able to carry there. You're opposed to informing people which restaurants are hostile to gun owners? I don't understand what the problem is.

Can't they just charge you with some kind of "interfering with a police officer" or "obstruction of justice" charge, though? (One wonders why they would do the bogus light-flashing charge, though.)

I thought there was a case about 20 years ago that threw out that Virginia law, because only the FCC has the authority to regulate radios (including radar). The way I remember it, the law was invalidated, but they decided to just keep the signs up and illegally threaten people about it. If a police officer attempts to confiscate your radar detector or says he will charge you with posessing one

You should write a letter to the vice president of customer relations at the headquarters for Outback, and inform them that when you did not tip for take-out service, the employee cursed you with "fuck". I don't tip for take-out service. They didn't do anything extra. I tip between 15%-100% (usually 18%) for table/counter service where someone is waiting on me. (I grossly overtip on things lik

Must have been gone by around 1976 when I moved from Annandale to Falls Church a few blocks from Loehmans (where I worked at CBSH as a kid). Don't remember any ice cream of note at the plaza from that era. There was soft-serve near the intersection of Annandale & 50, and there was a Bastards & Robbers 31 Flavors there (where I also worked at one time).

I tried it a couple or three years ago, and was unable to search for books about computers, because all those kinds of search terms brought up any book that had been entered into some kind of digital collection. (I don't remember if that meant the book had been scanned, or what.) Zillions of titles came up because the term "computer" or "digital" had been attached to the catalog entries in some i

The thing about soft-serve ice cream is that you have to really be persnickety and clean the machines every single day, or else things get nasty. I would have thought of Dairy Queen as a good place to get ice cream, but with my lovely experience at eating their other, easier-to-handle food, I don't

I remember Dairy Queen from when I was a kid growing up here. I used to patronize the one in Manassas in the 60s, and in the 70s there was one on 50 by Annandale Road in Falls Church. (At least, I always thought these were DQs. Maybe it was some similar sounding chain?) I recently moved back to the area after several decades away, and I thought I was lucky to have a Dairy Queen across the stre
