I remember the 66 and 79 ones, too. In 79 stayed on the air for close to 24 hours because it was too hard for the other guys to get to Fairfax City (I was just coming from Falls Church). Well, that, and I think they conspired to see how long I could keep it up for humor's sake...

I voted a provisional ballot without too much trouble. I did have to argue and make them call the election commission, even though I had the required government documents in hand. Once the calls were made, instant total compliance.

Polling place #520 at Skyline Mall (Bailey's Crossroads), 3-4 PM; no waiting. I voted a provisional ballot on paper. Regular voters could use either the machines or the paper, I think. Was there for a long time due to my situation, didn't see any problems. Volunteer staff and officials of the usual competence. Helpful and working hard for everyone.

I contacted the League of Women Voters with my story, thinking that they are a group that collects these kinds of reports as ammunition for bringing such problems to light for the future. And indeed they were interested in exactly that and wrote it up. They also took it upon themselves to use their more direct lines to the state elections commission, and after trading voicemails with some offi

I registered to vote at the DMV (in Richmond; I live in Fairfax) on September 16, but never received my voter registration card. I waited the 30 days as instructed, but that put me past the time limit for the election. I am not in the registration database -- my registration appears to have been simply discarded. Election officials tell me that I MAY NOT cast a provisional ballot. (Becau

In a state where I used to live, fines from traffic violations were not considered crimes, since the penalty was not jail. (However, they could arrest and jail you for not paying the fine, which is seperate.) Therefore, you did not have a rig

What are your favorite delicatessens in the area? Celebrity Deli in Loehmans Plaza has been cited by a number of people as a good place. The most recent things I ate there were the "Milty" (hot pastrami and provolone) and the "Goldberg" (pastrami and corned beef Reuben-like) and their Reuben. And the chicken matzoball soup. All very yummy! http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?node=citygui

I don't know if the rate has changed, but your chance of encountering danger is not related only to the rate, but also to the density. Th

I tried out Todai the other day for dinner and liked it. Sushi, sashimi, crab legs and even some lobster. A bunch of other hot and cold stuff, and even crepes to order for dessert! The chef made me an uni sushin on request -- if you see something on a window label or otherwise think it might be back there but don't see it, make sure to ask for it. My waitress was attentive with the drinks an
