Hey Phantom, It can take months to get an invite through the sign up queue, but if you send me a PM I'll send you one.

I bet they are watching you too! The game does tend to make a player watch people around them, thinking others might be agents on the other team.

Ah, I play on the Enlightened team mostly out in Arlington. I find myself taking slightly more "scenic" routes when going places and also exploring a lot of the local parks that I didn't even know were here.

Vector basically makes money by convincing 18 year old kids to guilt trip sell overpriced cutlery to their families. They strongly push to get the kids to make 40 sales appointments a week (1 hour each) to friends/family/acquaintences/etc. Most kids end up realizing what a scam the job is and quitting within the first few months (after already having paid a few hundred bucks for their own cutle

Are any of you playing the game "Ingress"? It's Google's first game and is primarily played via mobile phone by players who attack, capture, and defend various "portals" from people on the opposing team using various items and strategies (unlike in FourSquare where the "gameplay" simply involves checking in more times than someone else at a location). I thought I'd ask on here because the gam

Going to school for IT is a bit of a waste of money in the first place. That is, unless your primary interest is paying for the college experience. In such a dynamic field, it doesn't make sense to learn material that is several years old (since it has to go through an accreditation process before being taught). I'd recommend doing some self study and taking an entry-level technician, help

My girlfriend used to live at one of the apartment complexes down behind the Best Western & Moose Lodge. That traffic light on 123 made getting out of the place a nightmare! There was always a huge traffic cluster**** around there during rush hour and even often on weekends.

Why not skip the silly fad diets and just start working out on a regular basis? While it is possible to lose 30 lbs in two months on a ridiculous diet, let's be realistic; you're not going to be able to do it. Or even worse, maybe you'll somehow manage to make it through the 2 months of deprivation and get the job. Then , when you finally are unable to keep up with the rigorous eating requirem

I often seem to end up behind some jackass on one of these driving 20 miles an hour on a one-lane road (Hunter Mill Rd, Cedar Lane, etc).

For me, it sucked ass seeing Boston Market, Taco Bell, and the Bank of America all closed down. Hopefully some of those places re-open in the Merrifield area.

I've gotten 2 reckless tickets in FFX county in the last 2 or 3 yrs. I screwed up and didn't get a lawyer for the first one and just had to pay the normal hundreds of dollars + 6 pts. The second time I got a lawyer for $700, but he talked them down from license suspension to a reduced fine and 6pts. They refused to drop the charge down, though. My advice would be to definitely get a lawyer, e

Our company uses Cavalier for our T-1s and for our PBX service so we were dead in the water with both phones and internet. I also had a problem with cox cable on monday for about 20-45 minutes or so, but I didn't try it on the weekend. I'm in the Vienna/Merrifield area.

Dells are the shit if you are buying laptops, pre-built PCs, or servers. We use Dell equipment (especially servers) exclusively for our company.

Ben and Gravis are correct. If he says you did it, you will be very lucky to get out scott free in Fairfax County, especially without a lawyer. Quoting the VA code is one thing, but if you've been to Fairfax General District Court more than once, you'll see how one-sided it is. It's probably worth it to show up in court and to hope the cop doesn't show, but the odds aren't very high. Most o

This is great news. I've been a very happy cox internet customer for the last 3 years or so. A lot of people have always worried about cable becoming slower and more saturated, but I think Cox has done a great job of keeping up with demand and staying ahead of the curve by periodically increasing the speed.

I've been very happy with my Ipod since getting it about 8 months ago. I have friends with all manners of mp3 players but the ones that seem to have the most problems are the ones who own the Creative units (particularly hardware problems). I haven't seen the newest models of the iRiver, but my friend who has an older one has been very unhappy with his and after using my Ipod, he is going to ma

With all of the traffic we deal with in NoVa, it is maddening to make trips take even longer by sticking to ridiculous limits that were set for the lowest common denominator. So I guess the short answer is selfishness? And I, too, am the (above?) average speeder.

Probably looking for something a little closer in, I think clifton might be even further out :) But thanks for the heads up. Are the ones in your community available to non-residents?

One Spirit is also a good place. I've seen Brooks fight on at least one of the local muay thai cards before and I think his students are regularly at them as well.

Does anyone know where outdoor volleyball pits (w/sand) can be found to play on in the fairfax area? I play at Burke Lake Park with friends regularly on weekends but would like to go to a place closer to here after work sometimes. Thanks for the help.

I've had Starland repair PS2s 3 times already. PS2's use very cheap laser kits and they typically need to be replaced for a cost of about $75

Pretty much all of the fairfax county rec centers have racquetball courts, as far as I know. That would include Providence, Oak Marr, and Wakefield for really nearby ones.

Richard Gluckstern was a good friend of mine. It was unfortunate that he passed in such a way, he was really one of the nicest people I've met in a long time. He trained jiujitsu in Alexandria with us at Capital Jiujitsu. He just recently moved into that complex because they decided to renovate his previous apartment complex in Alexandria and forced everyone out.

My house is right next to the 66 sound wall. That night we heard a really loud BOOM type of noise. I ran downstairs and thought my roommate was doing something crazy noisy. The guy downstairs thought it came from upstairs. Then for the next hour or two that I was home for I heard nothing but various sirens every 2 minutes. Another weird thing is that Cedar Lane was closed off north of 29 up

"I'm also looking into krav maga does anyone know anything about the locations around here that offer that or have any experience?" Most krav maga schools are pretty commercialized and not much better than any other cheesy TMA mcdojo. Can I ask why you have settled upon that particular system? I think you'd be better off going to any MMA gym (www.novamma.com is one local one) Unless you'd rat
