How broke must LFF be if he needs to have the failcast finance his trip to Maine? I mean, it's a family residence, right? It's not like LFF needs to pay to stay there. Is he having members of the krewe pay?? And he drove up. So that's, what, $100 in gas, maybe? I guess he needs to use failcast money to pay for the stops at Burger King along the way, right? I can really understand why Buzz didn't want to waste his time on this shit. Hiking all the way up to Maine so LFF could save a few hundred bucks. Insane.

Definitely. When you're fat, lazy, unmotivated, talent deficient, and watch TV while you shove your face with fried foods anyway (how's Weight-Not going guys?), this is definitely the way to go.

Wow... Thursday's episode in the van: We got to hear a drunken Oscar mangle the English language (he's getting worse); belligerent, ego maniacal Mike and his verbal crutches as he rambled on incoherently, taking breaks just long enough to insult RJ; Nothing from Buzz and less from Marc. Robb was drunk but mostly off mic. He sobered up a little but still didn't add anything but noise. Even people who enjoy Robb's humor had to be disappointed.

Mike kept promising to "paint a picture" when they made it to the mountain top.

In the mean time, he slobbered through an impromptu speech about what wonderful human beings his two daughters are.

They should be. They were raised by his ex-wife and have spent a minimal amount of time with their fat, drunken failure of a father.

After what seemed like hours of tedium, they reached their destination and saw the sun rise. Mike's description: "It's red."

Thanks for stringing us along on that pointless sojourn, O'Meara.

You suck.

The Maine shows were characterized by two factors: First, Mike was generally a little nicer because his daughters were present most of the time. He might even have stayed just a tad more sober for the same reason. Second, he did even less show prep than normal. His only creative contribution was, "Let's rate the guests!"

The whole event seemed like a transparent attempt at having a vacation but getting his travel expenses picked up by a sponsor. Nice scam! If only Mike could be that creative when it comes to entertaining the audience. He might still be employed.

And that law firm must have loved hearing the end of their message mumbled incoherently by bored, impatient Mike at the end of Friday's show.

So the question is, did any of the krewe stay behind? If not, the spammer may have been a fan boy and not a member of "the krewe."

Robb said he was upstairs but Marc said they couldn't throw Mike under the bus like that. He was absent because he had to attend a "meeting".

And I don't think the spammer was a TMOS crew member. It would have been difficult to post from the backwoods of Maine. Besides, none of them are as bigoted as the spammer. What a nasty piece of human filth.

Good riddance to him and his klan.

LFF was at a "meeting"? How many 12-step programs can they combine in one meeting? AA? Overeaters? Spendaholics?

It's been my position all along that Buzz is the only one who REALLY doesn't need this gig, not a bit. Buzz has no kids, has voice-over work, and could probably retire tomorrow. As a result, he's less prepared to eat crap from the rest of these losers.

I think you're right. Mike obviously carries a lot of resentment towards Buzz because of that. Listen to Mike getting pissed when Buzz talks about how well he did in the Real Estate Crash.

It also explains why Buzz decided to leave the show (shortly after enduring a public, hate-filled shit storm of abuse from Mike) and only changed his plans after Mike privately begged him to reconsider and offered him guarantees and concessions.

A subtle, but obvious subtext to this whole Maine fiasco was Buzz displaying a lack of enthusiasm for the whole event. Jesus... what makes Mike think anyone would enjoy living under the same roof with his bloated ass for a week?

Mike treats everyone around him like children. Robb, Oscar, Carla and Marc are okay with it because they ARE children. RJ has some weird issues that I don't even begin to understand. But Buzz clearly hates it. Imagine being told when you could shower and when you had to fix a meal for everyone else. And if you complain, the self-appointed "boss" reminds you that his name is on the show or says, "Want to compare DEGREES?"

To which Buzz should always respond, "Want to compare waistlines?"

Buzz obviously has some issues if he puts up with that bullshit. He hates it but does nothing about it. He quit the show, partially because he didn't want to go to Maine, but here he is...taking abuse and going to Maine.

I don't think Buzz needs the Failcast financially, as you say. In fact, given what he spends in gas and lost income potential, he is probably losing money on it. But clearly there is something wrong when he won't stand up for himself against a loser like LFF.

WTL said, "So Buzz didn't want to be in the same car as RJ?"

yeah that's was about the gist of it. instead of calling rj on the phone, who'd been left to load all the gear up back at the summer house while blob(b) went out sightseeing, buzz, who'd gone on ahead but missed his plane ride, texted rj he was plowing ahead with a rental car instead of hanging around to wait for rj so they could share the ride back to d.c.. apparently, rj also had a family member who was ill

yeah i'm guessing buzz really didn't want to ride back with rj
but still doesn't strike me as the nice thing to do even if rj is a dolt

by the way something said,"RJ has some weird issues that I don't even begin to understand"

yeah the rj/lff relationship is weird. he's been lff's lackey from the latter days of the don and mike show. lff seems to treat him like shit quite a bit and yet the dude sticks around. baffling? is rj a star fucker? yeah I know LFF a star?

"Buzz obviously has some issues if he puts up with that bullshit. He hates it but does nothing about it."

Probably deep down he realizes he's really not a legitimate newsperson(of course these days ain't many real journalists left) and by sticking with the failcast it somehow reaffirms his news chops(yeah I know probably a stretch). Somebody is actually hearing him on the failcast. I seriously doubt his idea for a podcast would get off the ground. You ever hear Buzz do those Capitol Critters shows back in the day ,WJFK obligatory public affair show, he was mediocre at best.

I hate to post out of the blue, but just give me a second. I was doing an online search for the old Don & Mike torrent tracker and was hoping to also find the all of the Mike O'Meara radio show episodes as well. I of course didn't find it, since it seems to have been shut down years ago. Do any of you know where you can still find them online?

Anyway, here is my reason reason for posting. I have been a listener of Don & Mike, in all forms, since 1995 or so. I was shocked when I found this board, totally by random. Do you all mind if I just ask why you seem to hake Mike and his current crew so much? What fuels it? I honestly don't know, and I'm not here looking for a fight. I'm just sincerely currious since I didn't know there was a community out there like tihs one that seems to hate them so. Thanks guys.

There are 17,500+ posts about the failcast. I suggest you spend a few minutes reading some of them. That should give you an idea.

"Do you all mind if I just ask why you seem to hake Mike and his current crew so much?"

For me it is what O'Meara made himself in to. He could have had a great show, he was primed and had a great lead in from D&M and could have done something. Instead, he took the easy way, he gave Rob way too much airtime, he berated those around him for the fauilures of the show. When he was fired he again took the easy way out and did nothing until the podcast. Then he simply sait on his couch and did....nothing. He complained about not having any o=money and how he was better than the rest of Washington radio, until he was put back ont he air and did...nothing. Nothing is his fault, he does no wrong, he is smarter than everyone. He can't make it 30 feet to do his own show because he is hungover. He can't make personal appearances because he is too hungover, he blows his knee out being too fat and drunk and lies to the audience, he forceshis wife to sleep in the car because he is too drunk from being out gambling. He need about 10 years with a mental health professional so he can work these demons out. He can't stop eating, drinking, smoking or gambling and none of it, NONE of it is his fault. THAT is what pisses ME off....can't speak for everyone.

On today's podcast, Mike was upset about the revenue from the Amazon link being down from this time last year.

There's a reason for that.

Listeners now know that Mike loves to blow any extra cash he gets at the casino.

He claims he hasn't gambled in two weeks.

Two weeks? He's had diets that lasted longer than that.

He really poured on the salesmanship when he explained how much they need the cash to keep the show going.

If that's true, it's time for him to get up off the sofa and get a job. He's not getting any of my money. I work for a living.

And I don't gamble away the kids' college fund.

He hasn't gambled in two weeks because he spent at least one week in Maine, where there was probably no place to gamble.

The reason we "hate" Mike so much is because we used to love him so much. Pretty much everyone here was a huge fan of the Don and Mike Show. We grew up with it, and adored it. It was HILARIOUS. This forum started at the beginning of Mike's new radio show when Don left. Everyone was pulling for him. But it devolved and devolved and Mike got more and more selfish the more he failed, and he failed out of sheer laziness. He was handed an empire and totally blew it out of pure laziness, because he couldn't be bothered to do show prep or try new things or run the show himself (letting Robb take the reins most of the time, which was stupid because he SUCKS AT RADIO). He had everything, including our respect and love, and totally blew it. He sits in his own house now doing an hour of recording a day, and he can't even be bothered to put any prep or effort into THAT. That's his ONLY "JOB". That is ALL HE DOES. And his laziness ruins it.

So we "hate" him because we're disappointed in him, and because a lot of us would have killed to be in the position he was in when Don left and would have worked our asses off and run with it and turn it into something instead of nothing. We "hate" him because he's tainted (heh, I said taint) our memories of the D&M days by showing us his true colors: a selfish, lazy, arrogant, whiny, often damn near cruel, alcoholic. Who's in total denial. It's pathetic. What's not to hate? I guess pity would be kinder, but this the internet after all.

I never had hate for Mike back during D&M. I though Don's jabs were funny, the new car every Tuesday, Golden Boy, etc. and I will say I even enjoyed the ocassional stints when Mike hosted as it was a break from the norm. He showed his ass and his true colors here and it's not pretty. It makes not liking him so very easy.

That's pretty close for me, too. I can't even pity him, because he's such a putz. Say what you want about Donnie G., but show prep was his middle name. LFF used to roll in five minutes before show time, trailing booze fumes, and he could get away with it AS A SECOND BANANA. He had a chance to learn how to run a show, and he didn't take it. As he's drifted away from the big time, he's just more and more bitter, and the product is worse and worse. I feel like he cost us something that was fun and amusing, and it's all HIS fault.

Me too. Loved the Don and Mike show.

I can't stand to listen to the crap O'Meara has done after Don. Mike had the chance and I was also rooting for him until I realized he doesn't put effort into anything he does and then blames everyone else for his failures. People like that bug the hell out of me. I haven't listen to the show in two weeks and never will again. As Oscar would say, "I'm out!".

I LOVED D&M growing up, but when Mike went on for 2 hours about Facebook and interacting with the listeners, I realized he had no toilet paper and had to wipe with his "show prep."

I was really rooting for the radio show to be good after being a D&M fan for years. I turned off the TMOs radio show after they went down the political road so heavily and at the same time they said they weren't political. The audio vault was a drain and the whole thing just unraveled fast. When the podcast came out I had forgotten how bad it was at the end of the radio show and was quickly reminded, but drawn into the train wreck. To listen to Mike implode day after day was more entertainment than any "show" they tried to put together. It was fascinating to listen to Mike circle the drain. Now it's annoying and pathetic. He's a bully, a drunk, a liar, and just plain stupid.

Who claimed a moral imperative?

Yeh, I do draw the line at racism. I don't think calling someone a "chinaman" is funny, or using stereotypes about Jewish people, or people of Latin descent is needed. A douchebag is a douchebag and is a choice. Being lazy is a choice and I will criticize someone who decides to be lazy and espect others are them to "try harder".

Oh I think you lot seem to think that you are a special bunch. Clever and witty and superior to others and all that. I guess it is okay to show your insecurities about yourself on a message board. Someone made the comment to me the other day that someone who professes a profound dislike of someone/something is just masking the fact that they themselves have an issue with said topic. Sorry, you are a racist mate. Maybe someday you will come to terms with it.

So, by following your logic, your strong dislike for "haters"on this board is masking your desire to be one of them, and to be able to show your true racist tendencies

Well good thing the last two days have picked up where they left off, you moron. Mike is back to missing shows whenever he needs it. Buzz is back to feeling insulted and challenging Mike's arrogance. Blo(b) is back to kissing Mike's ass and laughing hysterically and running his mouth at everything he says. Oscarito is back to sitting quietly and generally not fitting in. And the other two are again hardly worth mentioning.

As D&M started their long slide, it might have been nice to have had more tape of them all laughing and in the spirit again on vacation but that wasn't happening.
Welcome back to the couch.

So you would then advocate destroying every comedy recording from the 70's-90's in which people were allowed to make fun of social stereotypes? Do you consider Eddy Murphy a racist? How about Cheech Marin, Henry Cho, Margaret Cho, Anthony Anderson, Chris Rock.....the list goes on. That is where you are claiming the moral imperative.

No, my logic would dictate that the people that post on this board are no better/or worse than the KREW if they claim that the KREW are haters. The majority of the people on this board have nothing nice to say about anyone.

Yeh, by definition, those people are indeed racists when using racial stereotypes. Calling a white person cracker or honkey isn't as offensive as calling a black person one of the more popular slurs, but it is still racism. How can you say it is not?

I wonder how many of you have actually listened to Don's new show? It's awful.

Nobody on this board ever said Don didn't put a lot of work in, but he's got nothing to work with. The chemistry and talent are dried up because radio is dried up.

The sad thing is Mike probably has the better staff but gets less out of out them because he puts less into it.

Deep down, Don must hate propping up so many no-talents, but he always had more connections than Mike in the business. Don was the radio guy and so now he's on the air and Mike isn't. But if anyone listens to Don's show and thinks its like it used to be I say "Good day, sir."

The Golden Boy laid down the brand new bike his wife got him... in a McDonald's parking lot. I swear, you can't write jokes like these. And he was giving Karla shit for not riding with him until he got 1000 miles on it. Maybe she's smarter than the "Family Feud" bonus show made her sound. How long did he have the last bike? 5 years or so? 4? He only put 11K miles on it in that time, so I'm guessing he's not a particularly experienced/proficient rider. Maybe the Electro Glide was a poor choice.

Are you kidding me? Guess he needs more practice on his Scoot. Have fun putting that down at Sturgis, asshat.

I'm listening to this morning's Geronimo podcast and it's pretty good so far.

Great bit about the old "DOT" (Do Our Thing) gang from Don's youth with an update via email from one of the members. Funny material and you can't even compare it to TMOS.
