Well, the wimpish Whiffies only wandered about in their land of frustrating FAILURE last night, the hope of finding something actually meaningful to say fading ever further from their sight. Such a sorry scene. Out here in the magnificent Sweet Spot of course, the views are always a great deal nicer. It was for instance a pleasant 75 degrees outside when I awoke, and while we still have some clouds out there and the humidity at 90%, we should be improving on both fronts shortly. We should end up seeing the low 90's under sunny skies this afternoon, another great one to enjoy a half-dozen episodes of Cash Cab or so. This might be the last we see of such lofty temperatures for a while though, so if you're some over-cooked heat-freak, better get out there at some point today. Be sure to wear a mask though. We didn't get more than a sprinkle or two out this way overnight, and there's not much chance of anything worse than that today either. Beware the skies of Monday and Tuesday though. They might just open up on you.
Deserving of some sort of downpour of course is the miserable President Ding Dong, a hapless urchin and merchant of popular pain and suffering, and in Herman Cain's case, death. He's probably not been tweeting much about the peaceful streets of Portland now that the storm-trooper withdrawal has began, but he did indeed decide to disinvite the media from viewing the shame of the latest version of his Clown Convention, now yanked from Jacksonville and moved back to Charlotte from whence it came. Just 336 delegates will be allowed to attend, but they will be carrying mail-in ballots from some two thousand others. Understandably, the Fat Boy doesn't want images of an even tinier-than-Tulsa flunkie forum being broadcast around the world, but without media access, what will all his FOX News favorites have to gush and fawn over? Not to mention the sycophantic twisted sister phonies at the likes of OAN and Newsmax? Is Lou Dobbs going to blame it all on Black Lives Matter or filthy immigrants? What a sorry cesspool!
In other news, today's scheduled twin bill between the Cards and Brewers has been COVID-cancelled, even though Bozo Bobby Manfred says he is not a quitter! Same thing Tricky Dick said shortly before he resigned. Meanwhile, the Marlins are supposed to be back in action on Tuesday. This will certainly go well. And we now know that all double-header games will be just seven innings the rest of the way so that MLB can look just like the minor leagues that they have at best become. What a debacle!

It has echoed down from the not so very long ago days of the Little City's humiliating defeat by Fairfax County in the notorious Water Wars. Some have just never gotten over that particular debacle, even though there have been so many other wounds in need of licking since. If you haven't been able to avoid the place altogether, the best a body can do with respect to FCC is simply to get up and leave, just as so many others have done before.

And of course I too have the option to make immediate payments against purchases. Or of course, I can choose to carry balances at a low and recently 81% tax-deductible rate of interest. In other news, the Nats, Marlins, Cards, Brewers, and Blue Jays are all supposed to be back on the field and in action this week. With Bozo Bobby having proclaimed that he is not 'a quitter', there is a likelihood of reluctance to cancel more games being the order of the day, regardless of the health risks that might be imposed on players and staff members as the result. It may ultimately be the players themselves who will be forced by MLB's abdication of all sense and responsibility to pull the plug. This sort of force-their-hand, blame-shifting depravity has been common enough in the owners' past.
Common enough in fallow Falls Church City meanwhile have been crop failures galore as only fields of weeds, dopes, and dullards seem to grow well there. Pitiful. The numbers are scant indeed for those able to understand finance, taxation, or wealth and wildlife distribution. You were long ago raked over the coals for failure to know that the entrance was from the west off District Avenue and opened to the south end of the bar, where the hostess typically sat, shunning the stand stored just north of that door.
