Well, the Whiffies and their sicko sock-puppet warriors rode right off the reservation last night, speaking much forked-tongue buffalo shit about wampum and hunting grounds. As Tonto might say, them not know what them talk about. Great Spirit not pleased with men of much bad medicine.
Meanwhile, with showers in the works just now, it's still a nifty 63 degrees out here in the beautiful Sweet Spot this morning. As many will know even if not say, this is a place where particular people congregate, namely those whose past hard work and good fortune have left them able to afford life here by virtue of their having amassed the sorts of wealth (not cash) that some years or decades in the top 1% by income will most likely have afforded them. Money problems in these parts tend to center on what to do with it all, with registering and running your own charity being one popular way of dealing with the issue. There comes a time after all when you want to give something back to the community that helped make all your success possible, and charities are a good way of doing that.
I've noted several helpful charities before, but let's focus on food banks this morning. The number of people needing their help has gone through the roof of late while their own numbers of volunteer workers have dwindled due to COVID-related issues. You can of course always find a place that needs your help at
Feeding America, but our local Fairfax County resource is
Food for Others. If you can afford to offer a helping hand, each of those would be a good place to do so, and if you can manage it, thanks so much for being real.
Otherwise, it's pretty much going to be like this all day today -- temps in the low 60's and rain, rain, rain, rain, rain. I suspect that we'll be fine out this way of course, but the flood plains of Brockmont may not be such a safe or pleasant place to be today. NWS has issued a Flood Watch through 10:00 PM.
President Ding Dong meanwhile wants you to ignore the Q1 GDP collapse and focus instead on the fact that the pandemic is over now, thanks to the modest success of remdesivir in shortening recovery periods for the most seriously ill (i.e., near death) patients who were given the drug intravenously. According to the likes of beaming FOX & Friends faces, the pandemic will be largely behind us by Memorial Day. Same folks who told us the virus would magically disappear in April. But hey. Be like Mike -- throw your masks away. Happy days are here again.
In other news, HOF 2020 has now been cancelled offiically, with this year's class joining whatever next year's class looks like in ceremonies now scheduled for July 2021. Hopefully, congregations of more than ten people will be okay by then.
Not really expected to be okay by then of course are these dreadful perma-dopes and dummies filed away in a dead-letter drawer over in Falls Church City. They are not much good at much of anything, a key reason why they are stuck living in such a dump to begin with. And oh, by the way...

That's from redfin.com in June 2019. The Whiffies have never recovered.
