It's going to get a little gusty out there later on, but we should have clear skies and temps in the high 60's to look forward to the rest of the day. The week ahead is going to see us falling further into a cooling trend though, one that could actually last a while.

No wildlife to be seen so far today, but we did have a white-tailed birdseed robber out on the back patio as Cash Cab was ending yesterday. The wife and I stood and watched him for a while after indeed doing a much better job with Sunday's questions than we had done the day before, so the afternoon was a great success all the way around.

Not so successful has been President Ding Dong, who has now been backed into so many corners that he is lashing out at everyone except for Kim Jong Un. Bush-43 was the latest Trump target, though he was only parroting an earlier FOX News bit in that. The Prez is very impressionable in that way, after all. He was also moved by the fact that his old claim for a limit on COVID deaths has already been handily surpassed to up his personally estimated maximum by at least two-thirds. What a quack this deplorable grifter is!

In other news, it's been another 6th Avenue freeze-out from MLB these past 24 hours, as the crew at Rockefeller Center has apparently not yet come up with any ideas even more stupid than the ones they announced last week. Not sure how long a thing like that can last, so we'll need to keep an ear to the ground for more rumblings of ridiculousness.

No special effort is required of course to detect such stupidity coming from the four corners of Falls Church City. By contrast, the Mayor's punchless proclamation re 'Small Business Saturdays' in May seems absolutely brilliant. We really do need to get rid of the GOP as soon as we possibly can.

What would happen if you admitted what everyone else knows and that is you are wrong? What is this horrible fate that you can’t seem to face? Is it what Rae than being the forum punching bag? Your refusal to admit obvious facts only makes you look dumber.

Well, we beat the odds for a second day in a row on Monday, as the super-duper Sweet Spot basked its way through yet another beautiful bright warm sunny afternoon. Not likely that we'll be able to turn that trick again though, as the temperature out there just now is but 48 degrees, and we likely won't make it past the mid-50's today. Sunshine for the moment, but some late morning showers could be bearing down on us. There's a good chance of afternoon dryness, but rains may well return during the evening and overnight hours. There's hardly any wind at the moment, so the trip down and back to retrieve the morning paper was a bit too far to the chilly side, but not so bad as to be actually unpleasant.

When I returned, a fox was out on the back patio, lapping up all the bird seed spilled from the feeders so far today. I'm sure a tasty chipmunk, squirrel, or mourning dove would have been preferred, and after I stood and watched for a while, off he (or perhaps more likely she) went, trotting down the fence line to see what she could see. I just grabbed a grocery store chicken leg left over from last night's snacking and turned that into a first course of my own breakfast today. Not sure yet what the second course will be. Some nice fresh berries are sure to be involved in there at some point though.

Meanwhile, President Ding Dong has his hands full this morning dealing not just with pesky 'Donna Reed' but also with the growing 'Mourning in America' crowd of increasingly dissatisfied Republicans who want to see the Fat Boy dropped from an airplane somewhere. Can't hardly blame them, as the party is in a tailspin. Look what wall-to-wall ineptitude has done to America! Is Trump the guy who can make things all better again? Or is it time now to give the other folks a try?

In other news, former Nat Jordan Zimmermann has his 34th birthday coming up later this month, but while he's been mostly a bust over the course of his years with the Tigers, he's not thinking of retiring when that deal runs out after 2020. Not likely that he'll ever again be what he was in his last days in DC, but if he can at last get healthy, he could still be a useful piece for somebody going forward. Assuming of course that there will actually be a 'going forward' at some point.

Making very little progress in such a direction of course are the feckless El Foldo's of Falls Church City. Non-starters when it comes to any sort of intelligence, these dopes are only popped and pasted as they run and hide and babble away in their lowly and pointless one-trick arguments from the outliers. A prairie dog town would be a more clever bunch than these uneducated Little City losers and goofs.
