I know two people on this list, one of whom is a close family member who has struggled with suicidal thoughts throghout his life. I am terrified for what this might lead to. I'm shocked he is on here, but nobody deserves this public shaming. I pray for him and his beautiful family.

There are a lot of "legal" activities that you don't necessarily want publicized. Think, for example, medical records. Really want the world to know about a hemorrhoid surgery? How about being treated for alcoholism? What you said going through therapy? That abortion 20 years ago? Being tested for an STD? Or ...? What is or isn't fair game in public shaming operations like "Mrs. Snowden" has done here and so many are gleefully celebrating/sharing.

Out of this list -- which will almost entirely be men because that is how the system works at Ashley Madison, as I've learned -- there are likely true 'schmucks', the "anti-salt" of the world. That, however, likely does not represent the (vast) majority of people who are now dealing with the consequences.

The names on the list are a name, based on the ratio of M/F I think its safe to say that this is more a list of people who just got scammed. Doubtful that will help them out with the spouse tho.

I opened an account on the site 3 years ago. While I corresponded with 3-4 women on the site, I ultimately did not have the desire to go through with meeting any of them. For the 3 years after the discovery of the affair, I remained completely faithful to my wife, just as I had during the first 17 years of our marriage, and despite the fact that we had zero physical intimacy during the 3+ years after the affair. One day, I woke up and realized that it had been 3 years since I had any physical contact with my wife. I was in my 40's, had been married since my mid-20's, and I just saw the pleasure of life passing me by. We had 3 school age children whose lives I did not wish to disrupt with a divorce. Nor did I want to get romantically involved with anyone. I just wanted to feel my body again.

The posting of this stolen information is most certainly a crime. Nobody here would dare post stolen credit card numbers, for instance. I expect fairfaxundergound will receive a DMCA takedown notice in the near future.

Okay, now I've done the voyeur thing and actually glanced (not done LinkedIn searches, etc ...) at the actual list.

Saw some names that I believe that I know. From that quick glancing and reaction to names, here are four ...

1 is pretty much absolutely not a surprise ... fits the guy's style.

1 is well, surprising, but so what ... don't know what goes on within their house or what their marital life is or ....

1 is a (from what I recall) a decade+ widower -- hmmm ... using this like any dating website? (There are single women on the site supposedly despite its advertising ...)

1 is a truly doting husband and father ... whose wife has been very seriously ill for a very long time and, I would bet, likely has not been able to have anything close to a healthy sexual life. Pretty damn sure this guy is seriously devoted to his wife and, from my limited exposure (not a friend or close acquaintance but have had reason to interact with the household) has been exhausted physically/mentally from taking care of her. Whether his wife was aware or not of his dalliance with (or dalliances via) Ashley Madison, hard for any but the most extreme moralist/fanatic to put any blame on him for seeking some outside 'relief'. (Perhaps the "perfect" spouse would simply give up on sex but ...) And, hard to see any social good by 'outing' him ... which is now a done deal.

E.g., while there are likely a lot of 'players' on the list, there are also probably plenty whose 'story' would change your/our opinion of their being stamped "Ashley Madison" players.

I know how it works, but AM is using DMCA all over the web, and most sites comply just to avoid the problem.

Some of the names/addresses are followed by email addresses and/or IP addresses. What is the significance of why some have this info or not? If someone's name and address is on here, but not email or IP address, does that mean they had a different level of involvement on the site?

Now here's my problem. And this is something I just found out about because I stopped the lady when she bad mouthed me. I purchased my house back in the summer of 2014 but the previous owner and address (which is now my address) appears on this list. However MY name is not but since this vigilante decided to take matters into his own hands now EVERYONE in my neighborhood thinks I'm a cheater and it's not even the same name!!!wtf?!?
