Why don't you man up and realize you are not wanted on this thread. Surely you can find something else to do. You are a pest.

Well . . well . . .well, "Kick Me Hard", someone in this forum or the website owner is attempting to be clever and funny. Imagine that?

How refreshing. But it won't last, you can count on it. Cheers and Amen.

Oh by the way, that clever popup, better watch out for what you ask for dude.

It was built as a volunteer station in the mid 60's behind the Dixie Pig to the right , looks like a smaller water tower is up on the hill by the airport . That's one of the highest points along the Potomac going down river to the bay a bit higher then Westmoreland Cliffs and also to Richmond straight down Rt 1 The cemetery is behind the airport Groveton Elm is to the bottom left

Wish I could contribute "BRO", but I have no idea, since I lived in the Fair Oaks Mall area of Fairfax, in the early 1960's, before the mall ever existed. Hope you can verify via another wonderful Fairfax Underground user. Not the owner of this website, he really does not give a "Rat's Ass". Cheers and Amen.

Oh well, since I can not be banned by the owner of this website (gutless).
I will proceed with another old picture (really) from Fairfax County for your viewing pleasure.
Now, I know all the crass morons here will have a field day with this including the website owner.
I'm the ever optimistic person who wishes, that kind of reaction, will not occur. Don't hold your breath.

"Dickie House, Great Falls of the Potomac, Va., in Which Every President of the United States Dined."
Circa 1907 - 1914, a postcard with a 1 cent stamp. (Where is 50 Cent when you need him?) - I don't need him.
How many Presidents consumed food there? Who knows, but if true, George Washington was one, and other up to the late 1800's.
Tried doing some internet research, to find any data to confirm this post, but unfortunately, no luck. But the University of Maryland has this info on it's website.
Maybe the house was flooded out and destroyed by flash flooding along the Great Falls river area, along the Potomac, huge flood stages over the last 100 years.

Cheers and Amen.

Damien,

I am not sure what you want from this thread. Your moods swings from conversational, and you post a photo or 2. The next day you are confrontational and abusive to others, including Cary.

What do you want? This is a great thread and there is much to learn about this area.

Please be a constructive member of thread and enjoy what others are offering.

As someone mentioned to you earlier, there are many other threads to exercise your thoughts if you need to in a more flamboyant manner.

Best Regards

The old Penn Daw fire station is now A & A Rentals and is considered historic. The link below takes you to a detailed aerial photo of the corridor, with a detail of the fire station at top right.

This is part of a much bigger series of aerial photos of a nine mile section of Route 1, from Huntington to Ft. Belvoir. Lots of other ingo there, too. Very cool!

The names of a lot of familiar sponsors are on the wall of the Grange Hall, including Snyders Hardware, Shreve Oil, State Theater, and Merrifield Gardens...in 1940!

It's hard to believe this place used to be full of hard working, successful people who helped one another and all got along. Then liberalism spread and destruction followed

Nice looking people the racists , the Democrats who run FCPS say were horrible racists on the FCPS school board who named the schools Jeb Stuart RE Lee and Mosby Woods in honor of brave Virginians, people who came from different areas of the USA , people who fought in WW2 and WW1 to defend and save this country so FCPS idiots can run it into the ground even though no one was concerned about the schools names until just a couple years ago when BLM started up

The people in the old picture look like honorable real Americans to me and millions of others , none of them unconstitutional stepped on a African Americans neck , and only one on the Fairfax school board was even from Virginia !

There's a real sickness going around in America that's worse then Covid 19 and will kill far more people in the hundreds of millions in time , its called the liberal Democrat pandering weakness and when it hits its peak there will be no need for any old pictures of Fairfax County forever as the Red Chinese are not interested in them one bit

A look back at when people appreciated our history and the lives our ancestors lived. Nobody today would even go to see something like that. They would feel icky and dirty for supporting the strong people that settled this great country.
