So, Werkheiser lost yet again, despite all the $$ he was able to raise. I guess it sends a clear message that you have to have a message :)

What's the commonly accepted 'grace' period (if there's one)? I'm curious since it appears that at the country level Bush is still blamed for everything.

I admit - I haven't paid much attention to the whole Pledge of Allegiance debate few years ago, so it was quite a news for me that apparently the 'In God We Trust' sign that I've noticed on a wall in my kids' elementary school was put in all VA schools after the law was signed by a Democrat (!) Gov. Mark R. Warner in May 2002.

Ask your local provider. Verizon gave me a custom 703 number when I moved and they couldn't keep my old 703 number, I simply asked if a certain combo was available, and it was. I think the one-time was $5 or something like that. But it was few years ago, not sure about current costs.

Have it ever occured to you that taxes are not the only source of income for a government? Oh, that's right, others require some effort, thus not the Dems favorite.

Looks like Dems are waiving white flag in this one. Deeds ignored advice, White House says. Top Democrats seek to shield Obama in case of election loss.

If I read the 2010 budget correctly: County Debt Service $110,931,895 School Debt Service $163,767,929 I.e. unless there're any bonds with 2010 maturity, FFX county pays almost $275M in interest alone.

Looks unusual for a deer incident. Usually their body ends up higher, at windshield level. Could this be a fox?

Probably there could be some gain during times like now when cost of borrowing is low, along with low cost of labour & material, vs. better economic times when both components are more expensive. But either way bonds = transferring the burden to your children.

So? It's not like 'budgeted' means money comes out of the air. They come out of pockets of FFX taxpayers. Along with the %%.

Good post, Sammy. One of the reasons they re-shuffle the boundaries is to improve the statistics and hide problematic schools by sending 'bad' kids (read: from poor hoods/projects) to schools located in better (read: richer) heighborhoods. This way no one in charge looks bad. Then good schools become overcrowded, so they want to build extra at the expense of those kids who will be taxpayers when

I've attended the meeting last night where the county officials presented the project. Things are actually worse than I thought. $60M+ of out tax dollars will be spent to convert these two local roads into 7100-like parkway. Funny thing, they want to keep 35MPH limit there (speed traps anyone?), and they'll have to cut into quite a few private properties (thus $$$ to spent on land acquisitions),

It really depends on how it's written in his lease agreement. In VA there isn;t much regulation around the rental stuff, and on top of that landlords with less than 4 rental units are not subject to VA rental laws.
