What a load. Right now we hear all these folks complaining that Iraq might have $79B in surplus from the sale of oil. Now, when the Iraqi government opts to award contracts to oil companies, Schumer says we should block it. Talk about arrogant. The awards are not just for the US, they are French and British as well. What Iraq decides to do with their oil contracts is up to them, not us. We do n

She didn't anything illegal, or unethical (at least not proven by that article or others like it). Get over it. If you are on travel, or travel constantly, then the least they can do is re-reimburse you for meals if you have to pay for them while you are working - at home, or not (especially if they were paid for in support of work related business). All these folks digging, they should be able

Yes well, all those cute photos of the Obama kids were used shamelessly to plug how cute they were, and Joe Biden brought his kids into the picture too - even though he didn't want to talk about how his kid was a lobbyist and all that. You all are so fixated on her kids you have lost sense of reality. The funny part to this story is how Obama says the families are off limits... and yet the only

Good, keep on betting in the markets on who wins. I am sure the guys in Vegas love it - especially all the folks that keep on betting Obama even though he is falling behind. I will guess that after the debates you will see these numbers reflect reality.

Wow, Time Magazine, the opinion rag of the Democrats. Man, that story sounded like it was written by folks who had some real resentment issues. One of the reasons it is never good to say (or write) anything in anger. The fact that this was even published in its current form speaks volumes for the management of Time. Wait, you mean maybe if they say it in an angry way, and make it seem like she i

Yes, the savings of $463K (for the jet and other travel) and the family expenses of Murkowski's wife (many thousands per year), and the not having to pay for a chef's salary more than offset the amounts we are speaking of here - by a factor of 10 at least. I would say that was a significant reform. How do you know, when she was at home, that she was not performing duties as a governor, such as s

Um yeah, even if it was him, he was a juvenile. And strangely enough, it is for exactly reasons like this that juvenile records are generally sealed/removed once they become an adult. Lets assume it is true, just for the sake of argument. These kinds of things happen and usually the kids are tossed in juvenile detention for a while, or fined, then released. Or sometimes given options to do somet

Some of these folks like to post their "facts" in more than one place in case folks missed it the first time :) In reading the article, it appears there was nothing that was illegal, regardless of the facts. And if it was some horrible crime, don't you think the Democrats up there would have tried to roast her on this issue long before now? Correct - yawn :)

Yeah, I don't believe there is really any issue on his citizenship status. Even if he had been given citizenship in Indonesia or anyplace else, he would have ALSO made it clear he wished to relinquish his US citizenship. Since it is doubtful he ever stated that intent, then by definition he would still be a US citizen.

If you read the article all the way through, the travel expenses for spouses and family is part of the package. Even the former democratic governor notes that in his comments. Note they are all the way at the END of the article. So while all this sounds like some big scam, even the State Attorney's General office noted that the laws would need to be changed to make something like this illegal (es

Speaking of crazies, this article is funny as hell. MSNBC Drops Olbermann, Matthews as News Anchors: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/08/AR2008090800008_pf.html I actually sort of like Matthews, but Keith is definitely over the top. Although Matthews saying he got a tingle in his leg listening to Obama speak sometimes was a bit um... I dunno, maybe it was his Blackbe

BTW - did you dodge the part about Obama being vetted? Running a campaign for 18 months and having none of his past covered other than the good parts doesn't mean he is "ok". Even Hillary noted that during her campaign none of his background was known other than he was a "Community Organizer", an Illinois State Senator, and a less than 1 term Congressional Senator. I notice lately they have start

State sponsor of terrorism, as outlined by Bush in the days after 9/11 - which is why Iran suddenly decided to get tough with their nuke program now, they saw the writing on the wall - note that they are now cooperating with the US, so much so that Osama's number 2 guy is calling them out for it (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D932N1J82&show_article=1) Saddam's government paid $2500

Well, they got so tired of covering President Clinton, the "first black President" of his time, that now that they have an actual black man running for the office they are not quite sure what to do with themselves. For all these folks pointing out how bad the "last 8 yrs" were, I can see now why the media has been trying very hard to NOT mention the affect 9/11 has had on our country. It is like

Well, since it appears the "Down with the GOP" crowd holds court here, I thought I would post some links for "...the rest of the story..." Seems the mainstream media has been sitting on these stories, and for all they are factual, I have yet to see them air anywhere outside of Chicago... $100K for a botanical garden never built by an Obama contributor: http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama

The funny part is, all she has to do is come close, or hold her own in the Biden debate. No one expects her to beat Biden who has been a debater for most of his life. "Keep hope alive" is probably a good mantra right now for the Democrats who are hoping she will do so poorly in the debates they will finally "win". Good luck with that.
