There were Sophists who became Christians. Sophists were traveling philosophers who entertained with their philosophy. This was a part of the Greek world. It was not a part of the New Testament we read. Thus Christianity changed from small meetings where they encouraged each other as the day approaches to being entertained by a performer. (much of this in Frank Viola's Pagan Christianity) That s

I love the old programs. They are so soothing! Now I remember being a tellahalic back in those days. All the characters in those shows are busy doing good deeds. Today I watched "The Incredible Hulk" and then "Knight Rider" And I expect to see that one show where Michal Carradine plays a Chinese Monk who kicks errant cowboys in the old West one of my all time favorites. What I really love are the

Good morning. There are no more excuses for the Democrats. The Democrats now admit that they control the procedure in Congress and can pass whatever health care reform they want. Without one Republican vote. And President Obama can sign it. What should they do? They should pass single payer. Everybody in. Nobody out. For prevention and treatment. For free choice of d

Africans are divided by tribalism, a name that sems to demean them. Other parts of the world are divided by ethnics or religeon. I remembeer watching a movie recently where the colonial power had artificially created a new tribe based on thier own artificial concept, they were racially identical. But it created violent clashes. I think it was the Belgian part of Africa.

As GM is rapidly disapearing I would like to ask why they seemed to fight what might of helped in the acleeration and horsepower and better gas milage. Ther was the myth of the V8 that got real good gas milage. For some reason they would do everything except what the cars really needed give them dual exhaust. GM even came out with a 454 in thier SS truck. Now there was a V8 that could of used dua

"A Culture Of Surveillance"By Chuck Baldwin April 28, 2009 This column is archived at http://www.chuckbaldwinlive.com/c2009/cbarchive_20090428.html It is truly amazing how much news the American news media chooses to ignore. If one wants to discover what is actually going on in the world, he or she often has to go to the foreign press. This has again been the case with a story that every Amer

With the revelation recently that, well, we are not alone I've been looking at strangers with increased suspicion. I'd never fully accepted the practice of people with blue devices on thier ear. Some claim that they are listening to thier cell phones or hearing aids. I saw a man last night in a restaraunt who had one on in addition to devices straped to his arm with wires running out. Could he b

Dose any remember this park? I guess you'd bring the kids there on weekends. It lingered maybe up tothe eighties with enpty buildings being finally jacked up and moved away. It was a small theme park. In the early sisties westerns were all the rage on TV so I guess people wanted to see the "real" thing. edit by Cary: Fixed typo in subject.

It was just a great group of very American enthusiasts. It was fun. People were holding home made signs and flags. The rain poured down. Everyone had a good time.

Hello everyone, This comes to us through loudoncountytaxpayer.com. Consider that: It took nearly 200 years before total federal spending topped $1 trillion (in 1987). In 2002, 15 years later, spending exceeded $2 trillion. By most indications, it will have taken less than half that time -- seven years -- to break the $3 trillion mark. (Source: NTU.org) Our Federal Government has a $11+ Trill

I found this a facinating book. If I could type beter I would quote large parts of it. We have generally been led to believe that Chamberlin betrayed humanity and England and Chezelvokia but it was Churchill who encouraged Poland to fight against Hitler and allied England with Poland. Chezelvokia lost some 100,000 while Poland lost five million and was enslaved by the Nazies for five years then t

The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be Freemen or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses and Farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human effort will deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage a

Gov. Kaine has signed Virginia's anti-Real ID legislation (HB 1587/SB 1431) that prohibits the state from complying with any provision of the federal Real ID Act that compromises privacy rights through the collection of financial or biometric data from Virginia citizens. Thanks to a concerted effort from all you grassroots lobbyists, Virginia has become the 22nd state to denounce this federal

Is zero tolerance for drugs in schools good for the majority of students even if it results in a tragedy for some few? I can see both sides. On the one hand the non zero tolerance will keep many youths away from drugs which will in thier use lead to further tragedies. On the other hand people who are depressed often go to drugs and alchol to "self medicate" a seeming solution to there delema b

Michael Hudson cites the Biblical Jubilee law and babalon law as a solution to the economic problem. Very interesting. He points out that the government has just identified the bankers as the ones with the problem.
