However, as one of the parents who does care and does try, I'll add that if you reach the point where you've had enough and are just phoning it in (like my son's teacher), please find a new job. Teaching is a critically important job and a jaded teacher puts his or her students at a tremendous disadvantage.

i agree with stabitha (did i actually say that?) yeah there are some kids without warm coats. but they're also the same kids who need to be at school for the breakfast and lunch program. they're the kids whose parents can't just call in and take the day off work. they're also the kids least likely to have heat at home.
