Typical businesses along roads like this are fast food and gas stations (or gas station w/mini mart). What do you expect, a Saks or Macy's? You put your own money down into a business that will succeed and see what your choices are. If the laws change and the ABC stores disappear you with see a lot more stores selling alcohol. Its called a free market. I am curious, what do you expect or wan

Stop being a snob. I love Magruder's. Its easy to get and out of, has everything I need and no I'm not a senior and I have a family. Waddle through your paid for membership, to shop at Costco's with the other cattle to get your warehouse sized condiment jars of Kirkland mayonnaise and 1000 rolls on TP.

Cabin Road in Vienna, built in 1925. Yeonas just built their houses around it in the last 1950s.

I had see this referenced from another site. Best part is between 3:10 - 5:30 ('you're shitting me' says it all). If you like this watch the new movie 'Inside Job' and wonder (like clip above) if you didn't become a part of an old Twilight Zone episode. The outrage during the elections was misplaced. Here is where the outrage should be focused.

I buy older luxury cars, like BMWs, with 5 or 6 years on them, for around $20k (to keep from paying the full VA car tax) and try to get 10 years out of them. Since I have a family safety and peace of mind are big concerns. If I start to have doubts about driving distances at night and in bad weather then I think about getting another car. The are too many good name, high quality used cars out

WOW thanks for all the good advice, thoughts and recommendations. I didn't want to discuss grading and property elevation because its hard to describe. My house is on a small slope with a neighbor at a higher elevation of about 4 ft. I've looked for streams of water coming my way from his property but that doesn't seem to be an issue. Not knowing anything about ground water or water tables I

7th and 8th grade is teacher hell so I'd take that into consideration. Maybe ask to sit in a few classes one day to understand what they are up against. My middle school was out of control because we all had raging hormones than no one could control.

Probably won't come to school without a pencil again. Lesson learned. I hope this is not a complaint against a demanding teacher vs a 'nice' teacher. I have a daughter who needs teachers who are stronger willed than she is will always try to get her way.

Sounds good, I'll look at it this weekend but I'll stay away from the crap Home Depot sells and find out what backups my present pump manufacturer sells. It might cost more in the short run.

I searched but didn't see this topic discussed before. My sump pump runs every heavy rain, even though I keep gutters clean and water draining away from the house as much as I can. The sump pump is the original one that came with the house and is about 20+ years old. At some point it is going to die so I'd like to have a backup one installed when it does. I could have it replaced with the sam

With CCB I had the same fee-free checking but I didn't have to maintain any balance minimum but I did have direct deposit for my paycheck. If I walked into the bank and used their services they would charge me a $12 service fee. I'm sure CapOne will start making my life more difficult. BTW the CapOne online site is not nearly as nice and easy to use as CCB's was.

Fess Parker (aka Daniel Boone) - In the old movie theaters my Dad took us to a Marriott stockholders meeting, probably around 1971, and Fess Parker spoke, either as a major stockholder, board member or both. A few years before that I was carrying a Fess Parker lunch box to school (saw it on ebay recently).

Do you read the police reports posted online? After being a victim of a crime I read through all these reports through this summer and I was shocked by how much crime there was. Reports of groups from DC stealing bikes and cars throughout neighborhoods late at night made my street think more about how we protect our property and families. I'm not a police hugging citizen who organizes neighbor

Just dreaming I know but wondered what it would cost to build underpasses from the bike path to go under Park St, Maple Ave, Cedar Lane and Gallows road? It would be safer for everyone crossing those roads from the bike path. If started far enough away from those streets they could slope at a reasonable rate.

I got caught at a backup at a light only to find out the main reason for the backup was someone parked their car on the main street. After waiting 15 minutes to get around this parked car I saw the guy return with a big smile on his face. I thought about taking out my tire wrench and busting his windshield but realized I would be the one who got arrested. Their needs to be a legal way to kick

I went to Kilmer middle school in the early 70s and some of the kids from Pimmit Hills were either high or drunk at 7:30am. There was some black guy who looked about 20 who was pounding on some poor white kid (including me) who allegedly had an older brother in the Pegans motorcycle gang. These days I hear Kilmer is a great school. I'm not sure about Marshal HS. The location never made sense

There used to be a singles dance at the bar in that hotel and hooked up with some great women but the person quit the business just as I was starting to hook up. Also met a swinging couple there and was upgraded to the bridal suite. Best sex of my life. I always have found memories of that place. Wish I could meet that couple again. Please write if you read this and tell me something I would

I always hoped my wife would introduce another woman into the mix but of course that will never happen. If she did it would make me very happy. When we were dating I would have proposed right then and there. It would have shown me she was open minded and my happiness was her greatest concern. Of course I would not pass this advice on to my daughters but all other women out there put a smile on

I leave my car frequently at Vienna metro overnight 2,3 days at a time and never had a problem. I travel for work and it makes sense to leave it there. Otherwise airport parking is too expensive. My car was stuck there after a big snowstorm last winter and they just plowed around it.

Where is the former Mrs Greasemanelli these days? She wasted no time leaving after he lost his gig. Just wonder if she had time to upgrade before her looks hit the wall. I think she was in that Lawman video posted above.

With Michelin MXV4 tires I never had to add nitrogen for the full 60,000 mile life of the tires. I read a Consumer Reports test that had a wide range of results using nitrogen so I believe the quality of the tires makes a big difference on how often you need to adjust the tire pressure with air or nitrogen. I also thought I'd see more places offering nitrogen but I'm not sure why only a few pla

We went to Artie's Saturday night (8:00ish) and was surprised to see the majority of people 50+ (myself included). When I go out I like to see attractive women of all ages. Maybe SW's provides this advantage in atmosphere. Food and drink always good at all places.

BTW I remembered Fort Myer TV burning down years ago. I thought that was the end of the business but I believe it was rebuilt before moving to the Nutley location.
