I'm a daily listener (and fan) who has listened to every episode. Despite the show's failings, I still like it. However, I did not renew my bonus sub this year because I found last year's bonus shows increasingly off the mark. I pray for the day KCJJ dumps them so they can dump the tight format and self-enforced "radio friendly" format. No other great podcasts do that nonsense. Plus, their first week of episodes were all about how they were no longer confined by the boundaries of terrestrial radio.

They did not beg for Bonus buys when they were losing on Merchandise and paying more people. I guess the Studio added costs. The problem is re-ups are way down. I, for one, was one of the first to buy. I stopped due to the un-funny political, old man, medical, bitching Bonus Shows. When I complained, I was banned from the Klub. Begging will only get some of the 2% to double down. LOL! Really 20 minutes of begging? What were the analytics three years ago? What are the trends? That is what I want to hear. Those are real analytics.
Why are Bonus buys down?
#1 They were not funny. Period. You pay for funny, not for “Meet The Press” from a closed mind person with Robb Quivers saying “Yes, Yep, right”. We got it; not funny is not worth it. Rant on the free shows. Or, bring in a respected person on the other side. (Mike would lose.)
#2 The Klubbers are down. The ones left are blind and prop up your ego to not care to give funny Bonus content. They are not your average fan. They are blind. People with opinions are the ones you are losing. My guess is they are successful people and the money is not a big deal. I canceled to make a point. I must not be the only one. When I complained when paying I was ignored. Now, you are begging me? Know your customers. Make them happy. No MBA needed here. I made my opinion count with my wallet. Now, the Fat Duo are wearing barrels on the corner their hats out begging.
#3 The Fat Duo love to ban people on Facebook and complain about ANY negative comments. They make fun of their own Klubbers. Now, they beg?
#4 Do a “Special” Bonus when Oscar is gone using corny DJ voices and bad jokes after Oscar implores The Fat Duo to keep the Bonus light based on internet complaints. Putting a stupid show on spite of Oscar’s plea. They even bragged about it the next week. And, Now The Fat Duo beg???
#5 Oscar responds “Pay Peoples Mortgages” to people not re-upping because they were not funny shows. Mike praises Oscar’s business sense but not his suggestion to keep Bonus Shows fun. I know there were multiple attempts. Mike is just too arrogant to listen. And, Robin just kisses Mike’s ass.
#6 Insulting heavy people (Pot = Kettle), women, minorities, etc. The Fat Duo love to talk liberal and then act like racists all the time. They regularly mock their own customers.
I know they read this site. I pay for BOAD Reloaded still. Why? Because they are GREAT shows. Not one on the “Lynching of Obama” while talking about “Darker Beaches” in FLA. BOAD puts on a show every time. You can tell they care about their listeners. All sides are included. If Mike wants a model, listen over there. Things are set up, multiple opinions are respected, no ass kissing takes 1/3 of possible opinions away from the hosts, and everyone gets to finish a thought without The Fat Duo interfering.
If things like Oscar’s story about the lady he and his brother picked were on Bonus, I would have stayed.

Mike blocked him on facebook, not the Klub. Many of the most ardent TMOS supporters in that group have been blocked by Mike and most profess to not know why. At some point they apparently said something Dear Leader perceived as a slight. They have actually discussed forming a group of TMOS fans who have been blocked by Mike. Yes, they continue to support him and buy bonus material. Again, this amazes me. Go figure

I could have written that very paragraph describing my feelings 2 years ago. You will find as time goes on, you will become less and less tolerant of their laziness. Welcome.

Overall I thought that roast was pretty funny. Not the entire thing, none of them are, but it was hilarious in spots. The only guy Mike said he liked was Snoop. Snoop was loaded to the gills and rambled for the most part. His set was remarkable in that he said nigga about 35 times. Even Kevin Hart complained that Snoop used all the "niggas" for everyone else he said it so much. This is what Mike liked but is afraid to admit in real life. I thought it was funny too but I'm not a hypocrite who vowed to call out racism on old men at the golf course.

Good for anyone who has let their subscription lapse. My policy from day one has been ''not one red cent.'' Sorry, Indians. That means no Amazon through their link either.

I thought Snoop maintained quite well and FDB did the easiest possible buy-in that ''Snoop Dogg was really wasted'' because a. Snoop is black, and Fat Drunk Baby is asceered of niggers, and b. FDB read about it on the internet once. Can you say lazy? I knew that you could. The criticism of Bieber's performance was merited. The criticism of M-Stew was not.

Thinking about the commercials today, I realized that in most podcasts they aren't annoying, just on TMOS. I listen to BOAD, they have commercials, all the Podcast One shows have them, Anyone that doesn't charge has them. So, why so annoying on TMOS? Because Mike and Rob try to make a production out of every one of them. They tend to be 3-4 times as long because of this. Just do the read and they aren't near as bad.

The promos at almost as bad. How hard would it be to bring up in conversation one topic from another network show? Hell, make the interns find something interesting and suggest people listen because "this week, this host, said this". As it is now we get to hear a promo, then the host talk about the promo, instead of the actual show. Example: This week on TPS, Stein's wife the jazz singer, (then, after promo) did you know S's wife was a jazz singer, No, did you? Nope.

TPS actually does the best with their promos because they include a show point every week.

Well said, Do You. I could have written it myself. I was a Bonus subscriber through December, started when they offered it, when I still 'got it' apparently. Not sure which malcontent you are, but there have been some who dared critique the Bonus Shows and were banned from the Klub. I'm sure I've read your stuff before.

1. Apart from your points about the Bonus Show, another negative that they and the Klubbers don't get is, once again, the lack of effort or preparation. Last year, and maybe back farther, it was so obvious that the Bonus Show was just another hour long chore. One day a week "we're doin' two!" Oh boy. You could almost hear LFF looking at his watch, counting off the minutes for the hour to be up as he bloviated about... usually the same shit he bloviated about on the regular show. Bonus? Special? Fuck no.

2. I've said this before: many people hate the games they play or played on the Bonus Shows, and sometimes I hated them, too. But they showed pre-show effort and preparation, and again, they WERE NOT THE SAME AS THE FREE SHOW. The first year or two, they did some interesting things on the Bonus Shows. Some worked, some didn't, but they were interesting attempts.

3. There were about 5 2%-er threads in the Klub yesterday, and some folks making strong arguments that the dropoff in Bonus subscriptions was not financial, but symbolic of the falloff in effort and quality (as you said you cancelled to make a point). In terms of the daily show, someone mentioned the lack of effort and radio format rigidity, using Patton's appearance as a great example. Look, I don't have an MBA, but why could no one formulate doing the same rigid show to please kcjj and to give folks a taste (if they felt they must), then just keep rolling for a truly special Bonus Show. And not cut THAT off at an hour? Must not have been their day to record the Bonus Show.

Oscar says daily downloads are in the thousands.
Generously assuming 10,000 daily downloads, 200 listeners pay for the bonus show.
Mike wants to take his subscribers from 2% to 20%, or from 200 to 2,000.
At $70 a yearly pop, they're grossing $14,000 from the bonus show.
Mike thinks he can gross $140,000 from the bonus show.

By simply asking for another 1,800 listeners to ante up. Just 'cause.

The only reason I listen to the podcast is to have a frame of reference for ffxu. The comments and observations on this site are gold! I feel compelled to post because of how pathetic things have gotten on the show lately. They have already been brilliantly discussed here, but the observations and/or questions that have jumped out at me in a very short time period are:
-Robb's bingo rejection-cannot be overstated how sad that is. Classic. Shouldn't a school or social org be seeking out a minor "celeb" to be announcing, etc? Even Mike's church asked him to help out.
-Absolutely no "bounce" or anything out of the mention on O'Reilly. Even if they just bragged about it. Isn't any publicity supposed to be good? Seems like it intimidated them and they have their tales between their legs.
-Of course, the obvious is the bonus show beg. Why don't they come up with a confident and competent plan? Although I like him, I am disappointed in Oscar for this one. Is it really a good strategy to beg and berate? Maybe it is, but it seems like Oscar would use it an opportunity to start using his MBA thoughts creativity. This whole episode is what made me really start thinking they were spinning out of control.
-The pronounced hypocrisy of making fun of fat people, ethnic slurs toward Oscar and others, disrespect of even paying customers, and acting as if they are culturally better than everyone. Unfortunately, I haven't had to have any butt zits drained-so I don't know how the other half lives.

One of the biggest reasons that I was a fan of Mike's were his impressions.

Now, he phones them in. If they had a trivia contest for me to guess the voices, I'd fail -- just like the show.
