Yes. The failtrain keeps on rollin'. Fake laugh, "Oh. My. God", and now "jess?". And it's not just TMOS, but BOAD as well. What the everloving hell is going on in his head that these seem like good ideas?

I was a listener of the Fraudcast for a while. I had been a D&M listener, a TMOS listener, then I found myself either fast forwarding through shows and then skipping shows completely. The hypocrisy, the lame Morning Zoo atmosphere and total lack of trying just finally drove me off. It has been 6 months since I last listened and I don't miss it. This thread is the best part of the show.

So, tickets are $25 / ticket for the next live show.

Google tells me that the capacity for the state theater is: 400 to 900

So, the bounds are $10k to $22.5k. Let's say each person spends $30 on booze: $12k to $27k

Let's say the failcast gets 50% of the booze take and 100% of the door (I'm just a lowly prof and have yet to organize an event like this, so I'm just guessing), which gives: $16k to $36k

If the split is 33% (lol, I know) between Oscar, Blo(b), and FDB. That is $5.3k to $12k / each

If they were able to do this each month, that'd be a salary of: $64k to $144k / year

Which is the range for a software person over their career in the DC area.

If they did that a few times a year and were on the high end, that would be a very good down payment on an Audi...

I'm pretty sure an 'act' has to rent out the venue - which probably means a split at the door or would amount to something like that in fees. So they would be taking in a lot less than you assume. I would be surprised if these guys made more than $3000 a piece for all the trouble. And this group could not do this once a month. More like once or twice a year.

Bitterness and hatred should be the new show slogan. There is no way Mike's disdain for everything is an act. It's not a bit that he is jeaslous of others, bitter at their success, doesn't want others around him to succeed. The rules don't apply to him, because he lives in the land of suck. Little does he realize he built his 1903 Victorian in the land of suck, and there he has to live .

The 75 yard shot with a handgun, did occur. Just google Fairchild airbase shooting and read all about it. I was working in the ER when half of the victims were brought in. Crazy afternoon.

But with that said, listening to LFF trying to conduct a "straight" interview was painful. Like anal cancer...except they have treatments for that. TMOS?....there is no known cure or treatment.

I think the way it works is they have to sell 350-400,depending on if they open the balcony, tickets before a cetain date or the show is canceled.
Any tickets above 350-400the show pockets 75%.
The booze is 65% to the house. the rest to the show.
They can sell their product for 100%

There are six major symptoms of Korsakoff's syndrome:
1. anterograde amnesia
2. retrograde amnesia, severe memory loss
3. confabulation, that is, invented memories which are then taken as true due to gaps in memory sometimes associated with blackouts
4. meager content in conversation
5. lack of insight
6. apathy - the patients lose interest in things quickly and generally appear indifferent to change.

You obviously know nothing about business. What about cost? They have to rent the theatre. And food has a notoriously thin margin, which they with split with the State. Booze, they may get a bit more.

I think they may net about $5k each out of this, which is okay, but not stellar. Also, recall Mike was slow to pay out last time. Part of the reason Buzz got into it with him over money.

Intrigued, I FF'd through yesterdays 30 minutes of shit-opening and unbearable promofest to hear the Oscar follow up, which didn't make me want to kill myself.

Imagine my lack of surprise when LFF cut off Oscar abruptly so Mr. Slave-to-the-Format (when it's his content) could get full pull on the LFF "news you cannot stand" segment - this from the guy who regularly pushed the Audio prep-service vault and Oboe news to the last minute of the old failcast - when LFF had a story to tell.

Do you get why I have come to hate what you do, Mike?

Pure speculation, has the relationship between TMOS and Weight Not finally ended? It seems like it has been awhile since it was mentioned, and the banners aren't on the site. LFF hasn't mentioned his "diet" much lately, except for his Shepherd's Pie Lunch. It's not like he would announce his failure anyway, just stop talking about it... and continue to eat and drink uncontrollably. Hilariously, Blobb is still on the weight not site with his 100+ pound weight loss story, but in the Fail-ulars pilot, filmed months ago, he already has several of his additional chins proudly on display.

Maybe this was going to be the first 30 minutes of the live show until someone realized how bad it was.

Oscar spent about 5 minutes talking about his troubles sleeping and the pills he takes. Robb asks if he's ever tried one of the new OTC types. Oscar said he has to take 5 of them. At this point, mike must've woken up and says "wait, hold on, do you have problems getting to sleep?". I shut it off at this point. If omeara can't be bothered to listen to his own show WHILE its fucking happening, then why should I? Seriously, fuck that guy.

I actually found an old MP3 player that had months of the wjfk show on it. I remember listening to that at the time and thinking how it's not that great. It's amazing how much better it was than this bullshit they call a podcast. I actually chuckled a few times while listening and I didn't notice one awkward Mike moment (not listening to his show, opining about things he is ignorant about, outright lies and deceit towards his "fans", absolute vitriolic anger towards the smallest things). It's really amazing how bad the show has gotten.

That show is terrible. I suffered through it online to give a recap here.

Oscar is not a TV personality. He's barely a radio personality. The show premise itself is awful. Plus, I'm assuming only this episode will be like this. The rest of them if they make more (BIG IF) will be Oscar and Rob (not Spewak) travelling the country and drinking in bars???

Mike and Robb's parts in the show were completely unecessary. Mike was trying to force in terrible jokes, while Robb laughed uncontrollably. So, basically they were doing a 2 man podcast.
And Robb's nut tickler looked ridiculous. I guess Mike likes the way it feels though.

The "challenges" were mostly staged, and it was completely obvious. The audio was terrible (looks like it won't be the best sounding show on TV). There were several editing mistakes (i.e. - when it's Vanessa's turn, they flash a picture of her up, but the text on the screen reads "Katrina's Challenge" - who is one of the other girls). Although - kudos to the editors on one point - I'm not sure when this was filmed, but they completely removed any sign of Buzz, Marc, or RJ....but I'm sure that was ordered by legal counsel.

If any of these 3 had any feel for comedy or what's entertaining, they should have listened to the pitch for this show, and immediately rejected it.

The oddest part of it all is what exactly IS he doing when others are talking? It's not like he's pre-reading all those lists that constitute "Show Prep"...So what is it? Does he find Robb's inane babbling as boring as I do?

I just watched about half of The Regulars. The only reason I could get that far into it was because I was astonished at how bad it is. It sort of makes my brain go numb that people could actually do this and think it has any entertainment value.

And then I thought about the effort and trauma of fat ugly spastic people trying to get into my sort of popular cool dude crowd. I saw it in high school. It is weird to see people at 50 still trying to be a cool dude. God, painful. By the way, Oscar has a huge Vince Vaughn head. He's going to look like Weight Yes in ten years.

I'm not sure Oscar's moon pie face and forehead the size of a Freightliner grill are cable television material, but he's Brad Pitt compared to LFF and Blobb. If you are legitimately pitching a show to Spike, wouldn't a decent sanity check metric be "Does our show feature the least attractive people ever seen on television?" If the answer is yes, maybe rethink things. If somehow you think the casting is ok, if your production values are so incredibly low that no one is miked, the video looks like it was shot with a motorola RAZR from 2004, and the title and overlay effects look like they were done in MS Paint, you should still reconsider the whole thing.

Oh my god, although drinking is the theme of the show, the cast shouldn't ACTUALLY GET OUT-OF-THEIR-MINDS DRUNK while taping it. Oscar is so plastered after the first 15 minutes he can't even finish his sentences and just stares blankly into the camera. What a disaster.

Also, come on guys, if you are going to tape a show dependent on challenges, don't you think you should have a plan before taping?!?! They were so obviously just making it up on the fly, it disintegrated into a high school video class project. What a fucking mess. I am so embarrassed for these people. So bush league.

I agree with your assessment...If Oscar is the best "actor" on set, you aren't getting this picked up...Mike..Wow, just wow...The best part is that you know he thinks he nailed it...Priceless...It was an elementary school production at best...Robb, of course was Robb...Need I say more? Can't believe he lost all that weight only to gain it back...Sad really...God what a horrible show...I would rather my friends catch me watching gay porn than have them find out I watched The Regulars...Shameful is what it is...

I'm still sort of sitting here with my mouth hanging open in disbelief after watching The Regulars. I mean, I knew the Fraudcast® was bad. I knew that these were fat uncool dudes. I knew they used multiple laugh tracks. I knew that the 'show' was an orgy in ass-kissing. I knew these were nerds from the suburbs. I knew that they were graduates of 'schools' like AU and VCU. I knew that these were queens with boners for men in uniform. --Guys who follow Regis and Tom Bugeron.... Morey Amsterdam dudes......

But none of that prepared me for the black hole of entertainment that was The Regulars.

Not even people high on Molly would think that show could be picked up. In high school I got involved with our junior class play - sort of a tradition everyone did - we put on 'The Mouse That Roared.' I swear to Christ that it was a hundred times better than this turd. Wow.

And, would people really travel to distant towns just to drink and be on cable? God, that is really depressing.

Really, wow.

What I find interesting is that there was no mention of this until today, despite an apparent screening of the show at that shitty bar in MD last night. LFF stated that the only reason he's promoting it was that he got his perceived requisite screen time. And I agree with everyone else, the show is a god damn abortion

What the fuck is the premise of The Regulars, anyway? To see who's going to be X place's next slush? All I saw in that episode was Oscar stammering his way through hosting, a LOT of sluts, awful production values and maybe the messiest concept and execution of anything I'd ever seen.

The show is rudderless, there's no real direction to it other then 'sponsor bar, get drunk', but with cameras.

I did enjoy Mike talking about how to be a regular drunk. This whole thing is like how to become a douchebag fuckface, that kind of annoying asshole whose calls you don't return.

There's no way in hell this gets picked up by anybody but public access and even they're pulling at their collars.

I felt so embarrassed watching that show. Can they really think it was good? My blind dog left the room after 5 minutes. They should've put a sign above Robb and Mike that says something like "Ask us what Weight Not can do for you". Other than the idiots who watch the live stream none of us see Robb that much. Imagine if everyone saw him as he is on this show doing commercials for Weigh Not.

My assessment of the Regulars - you can put a piece of shit in a tuxedo, but it is still just a piece of shit.

I thought Oscar was funny on The Regulars. The show was convoluted but I thought he was a good host. There should have been a segment explaining Jimmy's and it could have also introduced some of the food and house special drink options. Give me the dumb Guy Fieri spiels for a segment.

So was the point to find 1 person to travel with Oscar? If you find them on show number one what will you do on show number two? It seems like that would be a different premise entirely. Oscar seems like he can handle it by himself and doesn't need a co-host. Keep it local, crown a regular, and move on to the next bar. Please keep the comedians in the clubs.

The video of Mike and Robb summarizes what irks me most about the Failcast. LFF just spews out random and unfunny observations but delivers them with an arrogance like he is Lenny Bruce. The fact is he is an unfunny shithead whose only success in life can be attributed solely to the talent and hard work of Don Geronimo. The arrogance is misplaced, Mike. You've never done anything of merit on your own.

That would involve giving that talentless fuck my money. Why would I do that. Besides, LFF can't even handle someone calling him out on Facebook. What's he going to do if someone confronts him in public? Blow out his knee? What did LFF do when the guitar dude slapped him the face? Nothing. Fact is LFF is pretty fucking spineless when confronted...unless there is luggage to be thrown.

So in a moment of weakness, I actually considered listening to the show again. And then the Navy Yard shootings happened, and I lost interest.

UNLESS:

Mike DIDN'T go off on a gun rant (probably several times this week, not just Monday), and he DIDN'T make it all about him (like it was in his back yard so he knows the people [after all, lots of Navy personnel live in VA] yadda yadda yadda).

If Mike DIDN'T do any of these things, I may consider listening again.

Yeah, I know -- probably recapped in the last page or two. I'm a lazy bastard, and with no access from work I'm limited in my attention span.

Mike is terrified of confrontation, unless he is sure he can win. That's why in a drunken rage he decided to take on his pregnant wife "when luggage was thrown." He can't even take responsibility. Obviously the luggage threw itself.

As for the Hooters incident, he was going to beat some ass until his knee "blew out." Right. His knee has probably been fucked up for years because of his morbid obesity but it conveniently "blew out" when the chance came to back up his bullshit with action.

The man is a failure at everything...even at being a bully.

I feel the same way. The WJFK show was miles ahead of this podcast. Mike is completely out of gas. Spewak never brought anything to the table. In fact that was my main gripe about the JFK show. Why are they giving this guy so much air time?

For what its worth, Big O and Dukes has had an equally sad fall, although their JFK show was better than Mike's.

First of all, I sort of feel sorry for the dude so I wouldn't bother him. I actually want him to get his shit together and snap out of it.

Secondly, Mike would be good for about 25 seconds in a fight. After that he would be gassed-out. All anybody would have to do is avoid a straight succor punch and wait out the 25 seconds and keep him moving around. If he was really angry, he would be gassed in 12 seconds. Completely out of air. Any girl scout could finish him at that point.

Yes, I can explain The Regulars concept. When you are very young and in grade school there are just a few ways to stand out. One way is to be great at school. Another way is to stand out in sports and on the 'recess' field as a stud. There is another way - act like a fool in the back of the classroom and make fart sounds.

That is the O'Meara and Geronimo way.

So, as an adult, if you are not talented or sexy or intelligent or creative you can continue to be an ass. That makes some people laugh and look at you. When you are old you can go to bars and get very drunk and get drunk women to look at you. You can make other guys laugh at you. This is the basis of the O'Meara type interest. This is the basis of The Regulars.

What is worse than being the class clown is being the bitch of the class clown - a very pathetic soul. This is Robbbbb and Oscar. Pathetic. Always unfunny and hard to look at. We know that Robbbb is gross, but Oscar is told that he is 'tight.' He is not 'tight', he has a huge balloon face and is about to become O'Meara. Just a few years from being a total O'Meara. Oscar, run for your life. Get out. Find new friends.......

What the hell was up with Oscars hands? Is he that nervous? Watch the first part where he is in front of Jimmy's. his hands just keep bouncing up and down. I think the most blame has to go to the Quench guy. The editing was horrible, the challenges were painful to watch, and the point of the show was never really explained? I mean are they going to do this stupid game show at bars all over the country or are Oscar and that guy going to go hangout together? It might just be me but Robb looked pretty scary and didn't add anything to the show. What the hell was he there for? Hey Robb, Midnight Oil called, they want their lead singer back.

I think with the right host this could be an interesting show

Think of Man vs. Food; Diners, Discovery, and Dives, Anthony Bourdain. Shows that go around the country and focus on restaurants and various establishments. This should could be the same with a dynmaic host going from bars to bars.

You don't need two hosts take the lead from the shows above. If you certainly don't need two hosts you definitely don't need Mike and Rob. Get a new host have it a one man show and run with it. Oscar is definitely not that right host. The guy that one Rob would be a lot better than Oscar.
