How much does "having a night" cost? $100+? He seems to have one of those a couple of nights a week. Just cutting that shit out, Carla can have a vehicle for their their kid. He shouldn't be out boozing anyway.

Oh, I don't think anybody doubts LFF's ability to spend cash in a bar, or a casino, or a restaurant, or a bar, or a motorcycle dealership, or a bar, or an Apple store, or a bar.

Or an infomercial after having a night. Or a bar. Anything other than on his family. He has listeners for that.

'State Theatre can hold up to (max) 500 people.
But I believe that is with the balcony open. you start with 375 people when you sell that out they give you the option to release more tickets for the balcony."

I believe the current capacity of the State theatre is more around a 1,000. After a redoing of the theatre, close to 2 years ago now, capacity was increased from 750. In the past could stand both in the pit in front of stage and at back of theatre, that has been eliminated by he addition of tables. Also balconies with tables were built along the sides of the theatre. I assume this redo of the State was in response to all the new music venues that have opened up in D.C. in the last year or so. Problem, as I view it, is the State doesn't get nearly the number of decent acts it use too.

Anyways, capacity of State is now 1,000. Maybe LFF is getting them to put in more tables to create the illusion of a real sold out show?

Just a comment on Geronimo going off the air
after listening to DGS he revealed a little of what happened after he left the D&M show
he interviewed with a Detroit station, a station in southern Florida, something in Chicago, he looked at getting on in Europe and attempted to get on XM/sirrus

all of those attempts were met with various results
he didn't like Detroit and Florida wanted some Spanish shit thrown in, Chicago focused on sports and satellite radio has no money, and apparently England will drop the hammer on anyone that speaks negatively about anyone

don still has his high powered jew radio manager and plenty of money

I don't see him out of radio for long, give it a few months to negotiate the release of his contract and he'll pop up on another struggling talk station

Talking into a computer isn't "on the air."

I agree that if Don wants to be back on the air, he will. I doubt his manager will try to negotiate out of the contract if Donnie G gets paid and it goes through June. That's not that long and it doesn't prevent the manager from looking at opportunities before then.

I don't doubt that LFF is happy to hear this news. After all, he has admitted that it makes him mad when friends, family and associates are more successful than he is. He's probably eating and drinking uncontrollably at this news.

Only three groups listen to radio these days: Hillbillies down south like to listen to country music shit while cleaning the horse stall; Mexicans like full blast trumpet music shit at 5 a,m. while warming up the griddle - or something; and grouchy retired dudes like right-wing talk shit while they are working on their model trains.

With very few exceptions (Howard Stern and Larry King, for example) most radio talent find fewer opportunities as they hit their 50s. Don and Mike aren't immune to this. Don will continue to go down market until he's in his 60s spinning oldies in Ft Walton Beach, or some place like that. Mike, on the other hand, is in complete denial. He still lives with the delusion he is going to hit it big with his podcast and have some Internet empire. The reality is Carla will eventually leave him and the erosion of his audience will get to the point the Failcast is no longer sustainable. At that point, I expect he will spend most of his time at a series of bars bragging about what he used to be.

Once again Mike is slamming Apple for iOS 7. He upgraded because he heard great things about it, but did zero research before upgrading. If you hate change, then don't upgrade. You have the Tech 411 podcaster in your house daily; why not discuss possible upgrades with him first? Granted, Oscar didn't know what a dongle is, and couldn't recall what Steve Ballmer does for a living, but he's light years ahead of those other guys when it comes to Apple products.

Later in the show, Mike suggested that the gang produce a viral music video to grab some of those Miley Cyrus bucks. Might I suggest a parody of Chocolate Rain, called Chocolate Bark? The lyrics practically write themselves. Mike could use his deep"I'm never, ever full" voice. And he could rent one of those fat suits to compensate for his recent Weight Not losses.

You're welcome, guys.

It's funny to me how much Fatman does not recognize funny. He doesn't see funny in Tina Fey or stuff like Tropic Thunder. 30 Rock won best comedy writing. He doesn't get it. He doesn't like Will Ferrell or understand the funny of Old School or Vince Vaughn. He's an idiot. He's just an idiot. Headddd always agrees with him out of sheer terror. When is blatant ass kissing funny???? When is forced laugh crackling funny???????

This makes me hate the Fatman.

Fatman doesn't understand the natural funniness of RJ, either. RJ is classic.

If Don and Mike got back together you would have epic ballbusting. Donwould rake Mike over the coals for his behavior and Rob would return to a silent microphone in the back of the room. But then what? Would it be any good? People say they want those two back together, but just putting them in a room doesn't make for a good radio show now.

Don wouldn't take Mike back if Mike lost 150 pounds, quit drinking, and developed a work ethic. ZERO chance.

LFF would crawl over broken glass to reunite the band.

A D&M reunion is impossible at this point. First, I don't think Don is into living in the past. Second, radio has changed and no station/network would pay that ensemble tab now. Third, and most important, no way LFF and Robb wouldn't implode under the discipline Don would want to enforce to make the program listenable. That ship has sailed.

This was the sound of you hitting the nail on the head. That's exactly the problem with the show, lack of discipline. Someone needs a firm hand to make Robb shut the fuck up and stop pissing all over everything. He's the biggest stain I've ever had to listen to. He's not funny or clever, and he plays the same fucking Beatles bumper music and film snippets over and over, and trots out the same tired one-liners ad-nauseum. And Don would have had his ass for that.

Discipline comes in many forms. Self-discipline, which Mike has none of and will never get (note: gambling, drinking, eating, inability to stop bitching, etc) and the ability to be disciplined. Mike actually has neither. He hates "the suits" who try to keep him down in radio, yet it was these same people who kept him withini his parameters. This goes for his time with Don as well as his own show(s). Without any form of discipline on the fraudcast, it will fail. There is no knowing what is funny, what is not, what is good "radio" and what is not and the list goes on.

Ever notice how Mike refers to Don as "my old radio partner", never his friend, or dear friend, the Godfather of Robb's son, or anything like that? Of course, Mike also believes there are people out there who listen to TMOS because of Mike and need to be told who Don Geronimo is.

If you took an ad out in the paper today, and announced, "At 5PM, Don Geronimo will be in Bar A in Fairfax, to meet his fans. Mike O'Meara will be across the street at Bar B in Fairfax, same time," Bar A would be a LOT more crowded. A LOT more. I don't think anyone can seriously dispute that.

Hey yo...Do the TMOS be in the Top 200 podcasts on iTunes yet? I'm so confident that Mike didn't mention it, that I'll make the prediction after the show posted. They manage to avoid the real story to keep the infomercial going.

It's an interesting concept that more than one show has failed to grasp. If the same people listen to every show, does the as really need to be that long? Joe Rogan is public enemy number one in this regard.

In all the years I listened to Don & Mike, I never got the impression they liked each other.

As for celebrity, they were on Seattle radio for two years. I bet if I scoured the city I couldn't find 8 people who know who Mike O'Meara is. Why do they think he is some sort of star? He's a local dude.

JFK flipped and they basically kept everyone except the MOM krewe and Oscar. It's not because the format change. Chad doesn't know shit about sports, either. It's because the fucking show sucked. It's because the ratings were shit. It's because Mike couldn't get a good guest on and when he did he butchered the shit out of the interview because he sucks. WJFK signed on for a continuation of D&M and what they got was a terrible Jack Diamond imitation. Truth is, LFF can't generate ratings. He couldn't do it on JFK, the Edge or his own Failcast. He fucking sucks. End of story.

actually Omeara was brought from 17th to 5th in his year post Don, but the Fan was a forgone conclusion...so off he went...but it is true, he was dick to everyone and so there was little reason to keep him. He had no interest in ratings and he only wanted a "Don" contract.

I've been catching up on two weeks of Don's show, I couldn't listen the last few weeks. It may just be a coincidence, but Don has picked up on a few of O'Meara's verbal crutches. He started saying incidentally at least a few times a show (I had never heard him say incidentally before) and he started using O'Meara's double "is" (ie. "what it is, is a ...).

Like I said, probably just a coincidence, but I wonder if Don knew he'd be out of a job and started listening to the failcast to see what his old partner is doing and if a reunion is possible. I'm assuming if this happened, there's less of a chance of a reunion now than if he didn't listen. I would love to be in the same room with Don while listening to the failcast. He would be fucking disgusted with what he was hearing.

First, any bump in LFFs ratings at JFK were the result of the last hour of his show leading into the Caps playoff broadcasts and had nothing to do with LFF. Second, there's no fucking way Don is going to get back together with Mike.

You're right, I do hate Jelly Ass, AKA Mike O'Meara.

FURTHER

There's no way in six hells Don is going back to Mike.

Like I said before, Don is actually a real talent when it comes to radio. Anybody who's heard the shows where he went soft and talked heartfelt about his childhood and his radio dreams would know this. He worked his ass off for what he has and honed a talent through years of experience.

Mike, I feel, just got lucky, time and again. Don saw potential, Don used him. Don knew how to run a tight ship and how to use everybody to their fullest. Yes, Freda's death ran the Don and Mike show short, but even if that tragedy didn't happen, I doubt that the show would still be around today, or at least, that Mike would be.

WJFK gave Mike a show based on Legacy, which was based on being used by a much more talented man. You look at Chad Dukes, even, and see that he stayed on past the flip, partly because he knows sports and partly because the guy, like Don, has a -real- radio drive.

In the end, Mike is a man who could do some funny voices, has a 5/10 sense of humor and got super lucky. He has/had no radio dream, he had no ambitions except to find a career where he can dick around and drink copious amounts.

Now you're there Mike. Too bad you've bought your own press so much that you've become a bloated, angry, egotistical, narcissistic, abusive fuckhead.

You should have counted your blessings after JFK let you go and faded into the limelight at the closest to the top you'd ever get.

4 quick Don notes:

- His show had gotten really good again for the first time since before he went to mornings and hired a basketball team worth of on mic laughers.

- He picked up incidentally, and it was as prominent as on TMOS. It came seemingly out of nowhere.

- If you listen to the last episot now, there are a few interesting hints at his demise. Also it's a pretty good ep and still current enough if you want to check it out.

#910 was a classic. It had the Carla call that told us about LFF lying and driving to CharlesTown to gamble/drink/eat. But it also had a classic LFF "sports guy" moment.

At the 40 minute mark, he refers to his failing RB as "Albert Morris". Look. I know you are a "Giants fan", but anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of fantasy football or any knowledge of the home town team knows it's Alfred Morris. Yet another example of how fucking clueless he is in regards to sports. No wonder The Fan didn't offer him anything....

I agree. Losing the dead weight was addition by subtraction. Little Joe and Drew suck and bring nothing to the table, but at least they aren't cackling hyenas like Craig. God I hated that moron so much. I do miss Phantom though. He was actually a really quick witted clever guy. It worked well with Don's "sophomoric" humor.

I'm working my way to the last show, think I'm on the third final show now. This whole week of shows was really good. I got more chuckles out of the Monday and Tuesday shows than I did in the history of the failcast. Hopefully CBS doesn't force him to wait out his contract. They really fucked this up. Just a few months ago Don was put on vacation and they ran best-ofs while they renegotiated. Why would you take all that time, get the guy signed, then pull him off the air and pay him to sit on his couch? Doesn't make sense.

You can download the show from any podcast downloading site or app. I usually use the stitcher app but I don't believe you can download from there, just stream. I'd suggest you actually download them onto whatever device you use because I wouldn't be surprised if CBS deleted all of his content soon, making any steaming apps useless.

Because that's an excuse apparently. Oscar will NOT stop cackling!!! Fucking Christ. He's said three words so far and annoyingly cackled too many times to count. Here ya go--made it easy for you. But yes, you'd better hurry and d/l anything you want to hear; I'd bet you won't be able to access it by the end of the week. (Although, it IS CBS, so who knows. Big O and Dukes' podcasts were still available on their Arizona station's site for 2 years after they were fired.)

Tried Monday's show because Geronimo is gone, first listen since June, holy shit what a fail-fest.

The show starts with fat fuck pronouncing the sponsor hoo-loo (like Lay King's Boo-Loo) instead of hulu, FF and it's a live read, FF and it's an informercial, FF and it's pimping the live fail, FF and it's hyena laugh track, FF and it's a live read - gave up.

Like watching a dog eat its own vomit...

The "Father of the Year" is wasting time on shit like this instead of earning a decent living.

Think about it this way. If LFF doesn't have insurance, neither does Robb. Robb's kid had cancer. I'm sure Target offers some benefits, but nothing compared to what Robb would have if he was a real man with a real job.

Wasn't that ratings improvement proven to just be a fluke due to playoffs of some kind? Hockey?

It was. The Caps playoff games were primarily on Comcast at the time. If you didn't have cable, the only other place to follow the full series was on WJFK. As I recall, WJFK cut over to pre-game in LFF's last hour. Kinard and Co understood any boost was due to this. LFF was too stupid to and still lives in fucking denial.
