Never has a firearm been completely banned by the federal govt. Many have been regulated. Machine guns the real full autos were strictly regulated in 1934 and that was the end of any social problems with them

Dems have already put up bills to ban the possession of so called assault firearms that 15 million law abiding Americans own, without any reasonable regulations or restrictions allowed. That's why there will be no movement on the issue . Democrats themselves are to blame for the issue as a result. Not The NRA or the GOP.

We already tried a decade-long ban on so-called "assault" weapons including the AR-15. It didn't accomplish anything at all.

The machine-gun ban of 1934 was supported by the NRA, and upheld by the Supreme Court, on the basis that those were not "common" weapons. (This was all about gang violence -- Prohibition and Al Capone). However, the AR-15 is (a) not a machine gun and (b) the most common gun owned in the US today. That is part of the logic reiterated by the USSC just a few years ago ("Heller").

So why do you think gun owners are such cowards?

Fear stops you thinking but with a gun you don't have to! A gun gives the coward a sense of empowerment. If pulling a trigger required courage there would be almost no gun violence, and arms dealers would go out of business. You don't need to carry a gun because the most dangerous weapon you will ever own is the one between your ears, if you know how to use it.

Armed bystanders kill shooter at Oklahoma City restaurant.

(CNN)Armed bystanders gunned down a shooter Thursday at an Oklahoma City restaurant, killing him, police said.

A man opened fire with a handgun in Louie's Grill & Bar, striking three people inside the restaurant from a position outside the front door, Oklahoma City Police Capt. Bo Mathews told reporters.
As the gunman ran from the scene, two bystanders got their own handguns from the trunks of their vehicles, then confronted and fatally shot the attacker outside the restaurant, Mathews said Friday.

"They were able to shoot this suspect and put an end to this very dangerous situation," Mathews said, adding that the men -- Carlos Nazario, 35, and Bryan Wittle, 39 -- did not know each other. It's not clear who fired the fatal shot. Police initially said only one man fired on the attacker.

The bystanders' actions were "well within their legal rights" and likely would be protected by good Samaritan laws, Mathews said. He deferred a final call to the Oklahoma County district attorney, whose staff did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment.

"These guys were protecting somebody else's life," the police captain said. "You can say they are heroes."

The attacker was identified by police as Alexander C. Tilghman, 28, of Oklahoma City.

"It doesn't look like he knew anybody at the restaurant," Mathews said, adding that Tilghman had no known history of mental illness and appears to have acted alone. The motive remains unknown.

The three who were wounded remain in good condition Friday, police said.

That is a great story bro. Problem is that for every one situation like that there are 27 where the gun owning coward shoots himself or a family member. Guns are not the problem, gun owners are the problem. Gun owners are cowardly and ignorant.

When my daughter was 9 y.o. she had a year of Tae Kwon Do behind her and her own .22 rifle.

The percentage of them that already owns guns will be very high, but they will come like zombies anyway and hand their hard-earned money over in exchange for another useless hunk of metal that will do them no good and has a high probability of ultimately falling into the wrong hands. Only the hot dog vendors will actually be made better off this weekend.

Guns are stolen from asswipe NRA-style douchebags at alarming rates. The poor saps are seemingly too dumb to realize that guns are one of the things that burglars most like to find in a home. Putting an NRA bumper sticker on your car is like inviting criminals to come break into your home.

What are those alarming rates? Rates and probabilities are associated with numerical values. In case you're too dense to get it, I'm asking you to provide those numerical values.

So, what is the rate of guns that are stolen from gun owners?

What is the probability a gun will end up in the wrong hands?

To properly answer these questions, you will be providing numbers.

Ignorance is not a form of argumentation, douchebag. If you had half a brain, you would already know that hundreds of thousands of guns are in fact stolen from households every year. These tend to disappear quickly out on the streets, becoming a ready source of arms for the worst sorts of people in our society. And it's all you uncaring warped-minded guntards who are doing that. In a just world, the original owner would do jail time for every crime committed with a stolen gun, but you shits just don't have the balls to face up to that sort of personal responsibility, do you.

So, you can't back up your claims. It's not surprising though. Most blowhards routinely pull shit out of their ass and expect people to believe them. When asked to back their shit up, they turn into petulant little children just like you.

Just look at how far you've retreated in this thread.

First, there was a "high probability" that the guns would end up in the wrong hands.

When asked what that "high probability" was, you responded that guns are stolen at "alarming rates." Now, it's a "serious problem."

So, what is the rate of guns that are stolen from gun owners?

What is the probability a gun will end up in the wrong hands?

Started at "high probability" to now a "very big issue" and "extremely troubling." Sounds like a real epidemic. LOL!

You have been given the opportunity to back your shit up multiple times. Your unwillingness is making you look like a liar. Do you enjoy looking like a liar?

So, what is the rate of guns that are stolen from gun owners?

What is the probability a gun will end up in the wrong hands?

To properly answer these questions, you will be providing numbers.

You made the claims, now back them up with facts.

If you don't know the numbers, just say so. Until you answer the questions or admit you're a bullshitter, you will continue to see them.

These gun show vendors really make serious cash by selling to convicted felons.

This is really a small problem in comparison to the numbers of legally purchased guns that end up being stolen from careless owners and making their way into the street where mayhem is a common result. This happens hundreds of thousands of times per year.

Several gun owners kill themselves every day in the US alone. Most of the time it is men who do that. These men are dying of fear.

Most prohibited persons obtain firearms through straw purchases.

Yea that's true nationwide but here in Virginia it's these gun shows that put guns in the hands of people that should not have them.

This is serious.
Can you give a specific case out of the hundreds of thousands of cases
of all those criminals buying their guns at Virginia gun shows?

Should be easy for you to document since it happens all the time.
I think something like a half-dozen examples in the last 20 years would be easy.
How many can you come up with?

There has not been a single conservative republican that has gone out with the intent of harming people.

This just in - 9th circuit court unanimous decision to allow open carry nationwide.

The thing is that if the buyer has no criminal record there is nothing illegal about the sale of a firearm from one private citizen to another with no background check. Some people are willing to pay a little more so that there is no government record of them purchasing a firearm. The problem comes when a felon goes this same route to purchase a firearm.
This problem is not limited to gun shows. Plenty of background check free sales take place in Virginia through flea markets, the Valley trader and other avenues.

A Democrat running for the nomination to challenge Rep. Comstock, R-Va., strolled into a gun show in Chantilly, Virginia, last month and purchased a semi-automatic rifle in about 10 minutes without a background check.

A felon who claimed he was reporting on the “gun show loophole” was sentenced Friday to eight years in federal prison for buying three guns at an event in Virginia.

A federal jury convicted Josiah John Weiss, 36, of Suitland, Maryland, of possession of a firearm by a felon in March, about a year after ATF agents witnessed him buying guns at a gun show.

According to court documents, agents surveilling “The Nation’s Gun Show” in Chantilly on April 25, 2015, saw Weiss give a seller a large amount of cash for two pistols and an AR-15. They followed him as he walked to the parking lot with two pistol boxes and the rifle.

91 people arrested at Virginia gun shows last year
State police said a record number were charged in 2015 with trying to purchase guns illegally.

It's amazing to me that some people go to gun shows the way others go to the grocery store. Groceries of course get consumed in short order, but how on earth can people who already have at least a dozen useless guns at home find any reason at all to go back out to Chantilly and spend perfectly good money on buying even more of them? No, it's not the hot dogs. At least not entirely...

The news articles you provided show (a) criminals being refused guns at the gun show and getting arrested instead and (b) dubious reporting about gun shows in other parts of the country, and something about Maryland.

That one guy from Maryland was trying to prove that criminals get their
guns from gun shows, went to Chantilly, tried it, and was arrested in
the parking lot. LOL!

So, in other words, no criminals buyings guns at Virginia gun shows.

CNS is a trash news service as can be seen immediately in the phony use of "is" in its headline, rather than the actual "can be". That's so flagrantly dishonest as to disqualify CNS from any sort of consideration at all. Worthless hacks and liars is all they are.
