Fairfax Station murder

I guess we are all now used to when a husband murders his wife-it is no longer newsworthy??

Does anyone have any 411 on the homicide in Fairfax Station?

I show a Don and MaryAnn Teague in Fairfax Station.

It says Don is a graduate of VMI-played baseball and football.

Also, shows a son at Denison Univ who plays baseball.

Same family???

Here is why....

The 58-year-old female..

...If she were 28 with big tits, Greta Van Sustern and Nancy Grace would have a 24/7 vigil going on outside the house.

Just asking... would that get us a pass from you and Vince(1) for watching Fox News? Or would watching Greta talk about a 28-year-old trophy wife with big tits (with vids and pictures in the piece) make us "Republikans"?

I figured botched murder-suicide at first....but both were shot in the torso. Wouldn't the one committing suicide blow their head off?

Maybe somebody was ripping off their dope like the one in Springfield?

i know someone that lives about 5 houses down from them. they have 3 kids in college and they were going through a bad divorce. my friend says the woman was a nice lady but she had never met the husband. she believes that the woman shot her husband then shot herself because he was shot in the torso and she was shot in the head. but since the husband is still alive, im guessing we will have more information once he is released from the hospital.

Awfully presumptuous to assume he has anything to be charged for. Need I remind that in the case of the Vienna shooting it was the wife that shot the husband? She was convicted, by the way.

And BTW in Vienna she shot him in the open, in the driveway, so there was not much of an issue about what happened.

I asked about charges against the husband because he described a struggle for the gun in his statement to police. Technically, he could get manslaughter, etc. Also, if you look at the Guest Book at washingtonpost.com, no one mentions the husband. Not once. I wonder if the close friends of the family know something we don't.

He used to work in my building but although I passed him in the hall often never had any interaction with him. Those who did say he had a violent temper. Most of us are on our best behavior at work. So if he was throwing objects across conference rooms at work, just imagine what he was doing when he was in the comfort and privacy of his own home.

You do have to disclose 'Stigma' it has to be something a reasonable person would consider relevant to the history of the house (ghost stories - no; murders - yes).

The speculation on this board seems reckless to me.

I've read all these comments, and the only part I believed was this: She was a lovely person, and she died.

All this speculation about who probably or certainly shot whom -- we don't know. We do know that he said she shot him, and then he shot her. Maybe that's true, maybe it's not, but to say one way or the other, when you have no information at all, seems indefensible. At some point, there will be a charge, or there won't, and there will be a police report. Then we'll know more than we know now. Maybe we'll never know exactly what happened.

In other words, it isn't Law and Order. It's the lives of two people in our community, two people who have kids. Kids old enough to read this sort of board.

if he did in fact commit the murder, it shouldnt be hard for them to get the evidence needed for an open and shut case.

I don't know, man....no eyewitnesses. I'm sure they're doing some serious forensics...angles and shit.

I sure hope the letterman ends up in a cage for a few years. I'll settle for manslaughter.

I think as taxpayers we have a right to know what happened. Their "privacy" was violated when they decided to shoot at each other.

If the husband is a murderer then let's see the charges. We pay these cops salaries we deserve to see the end result.

I cannot imagine what the heck is taking so long. If the husband is innocent, I am sure he would appreciate his name being cleared.

It is a pity we have to rely on these boards for info-so until the cops pony up information, that is the best we have.

I offer no apologies.

I agree that this appears to be taking a long time, but it seems like the police have much to do to try an figure out what happened. Only one person can give a version of what happened, and forensics, DNA testing, etc. takes a while, particularly in this age of tight budgets and limited resources. It may take a little longer, but what happened will be explained to the extent it can be.

As several posters have said, it is also important to remember that this was a wonderful person, obviously much loved by many people. The outpouring of emotion at her funeral was amazing--look at guest book in The Post to see what people felt about her.

Also remember the difficult circumstances for her children and the rest of her family given the uncertainty--at least for now--about what really happened and the fact that they have lost a mother, sister and daughter, tragically and suddenly.

My family and I have been the Teagues' neighbors for 20 years. We never, ever saw them together around their home, in their vehicles or anywhere else. In addition to being very attractive, Mrs Teague was classy, friendly and neighborly. When her husband, OJ, was occasionally seen, he was unfriendly and arrogant. No neighbors knew they planned to divorce. If he gets away with this murder, he should feel very proud of the fact that he pushed his wife so far over the edge that she felt it necessary to introduce a firearm into the argument. If, in fact, he didn't introduce it. Whether he's prosecuted or not, he's still a son-of-a-bitch.

On March 8th, "Abe" commented on the "reckless speculation" on this board regarding Mrs. Teague's death. And, that "she was a lovely person and she died." He noted that this "isn't Law and Order."

Abe, firstly, you're an idiot. Mrs. Teague didn't just die. She was violently killed by a gun and a bullet. Since, after all, this isn't Law and Order, I won't speculate on how Mrs. Teague and not OJ was killed in the alledged struggle for the gun. If she had it in her hand(s), how did its barrel eventually point toward and shoot her. Did OJ have it in his hand(s) and just shoot her in the chest as she was "attacking" him. Even if she shot him first, did he actually need to shoot her to stop her aggression. He was three times her size. If he needed a gun to defend himself against his diminutive wife, being Mr. VMI and all, as his vehicle license tag so proudly advised, he should be charged with being a wimp in addition to murder.

Abe, secondly, you're a Democrat, right?

The posts by Neighbor are right on the mark. This was a woman loved by her neighbors, always involved with her kids, and you never saw her with Mr. VMI. She was the one planting flowers in the yard, walking the dog, or running the lake with her twin sister. He was just not part of the picture, but was recently unemployed. I never saw them do anything together.

The thought that she could have somehow been involved with a gun is totally out of character and ridiculous. How a man could kill the mother of their three children is inexplicable.

As for Mr. VMI, anyone who was at the funeral saw not a shred of remorse from him. Her children and the rest of her close knit family were clearly devastated and he spent the service staring off in the distance as if he were bored by the whole event.

There are a lot of questions about what happened and one can only hope the police get it right.

Not saying he's innocent or even that I'm on his side, I'm not, but just because he was staring off into space doesn't mean a thing. People deal with the deaths of loved ones in very different ways and in some cases there's a big disconnect from reality. Judging him or anyone else at a funeral based on how they appeared is stupid.

I know this is a late response but really Abe, the cops don't have an obligation to give the public any solid information if an investigation is *ongoing*. You have to check a message board for information pertaining to a local crime? Oh god, that's almost as bad as having to check Twitter for a road closure!

I mean, you can't POSSIBLY be expected to search the internet to find the news you want, can you? Psh.

VMI is a wonderful school with a fine reputation. The point is that someone who displays his college affiliation on his vehicle license tag should at least be able to live up to the values/mores which he was obviously taught. Killing the loving mother of your three children, for whatever reason, was hopefully not one of them.

Most of the people that worked for him hated him. There are many people who are not surprised that this happened given his emotional instability.

Who was the aggressor--Mr. VMI or " Mr. someone else."

What is the story on "Mr. someone else?"

Aggressor = husband. No story on "mr someone else" other than he was leaving his wife also.

I didn't get the sense this was a secretive relationship. Both were divorcing and moving on. That said, I'm just a casual observer.

They are doing DNA on the gun and Mr. VMI should be arrested in a few weeks according to my source very close to family.

If he knew, it is even more amazing. Given the news reports that they were arguing about a divorce...sounds like things were out in the open. Why would he shoot her if both were moving on? Sound like she may have been moving on and he was not happy about it......

Given what I have read about Mr. VMI, and that this was all out in the open, I wonder if Mr. Someone Else needs to be a little extra careful?

What wonderful neighbors this guy has... being grumpy means you don't get to have a trial and proven guilty. Why don't you all just get some guns and pitchforks and go down the street and take care of things? After all, the police are moving slow and he's guilty anyway, right?

If his persona is grumpy in front of a jury (or w/the authorities) what do you think will happen?

Who cares and long as it is in a courtroom. But what am I saying? Maybe the neighbors should just ASSUME his attitude will get him convicted and just go down and administer justice now, saving everyone the bother of a silly trial.

That is a reasonable assumption... someone defending the right for a person (who may be guilty or not) to have a trial before his neighbors lynch him OBVIOUSLY must be in cahoots with the criminal elements of society.

Wait, what's that rumbling sound I hear? Oh never mind, that is just the generation of America's founding fathers rolling in their graves.

Not an advocate for mob rule under any circumstances, but mindful of general frustration out there. "grumpy" doesn't begin to describe character of VMI guy; bully, arrogant, loser, friendless, jobless, soon to be divorced. Snap. . .Happens all the time.

Curious if the neighbors who have posted have any insight into what the husband has been up to--is he still unemployed? Do you see him around? How does he act?

If a man murders his wife, thats his business. We don't know why he did it. I'm sure he had a perfectly good reason for doing it.

That rumbling sound you hear, Pgens, is Mrs. Teague rolling in her grave, not the founding fathers.

From what I observe, nothing has changed for OJ. Living in his house, driving his vehicle and going on with his business. Very nice. Isn't this a tad arrogant? Most people would be embarrassed or ashamed to show their greasy fat face after a murderous altercation with their spouse. Not Mr. VMI.

If Pgens knew Mrs. Teague and OJ, she wouldn't question why their neighbors feel like they do.

I asked why you aren't administering your own justice because you don't believe things like investigations and trials will work.

It doesn't matter if I know the people or not, it is obvious I can't convince the people in that neighborhood that due process is proper. I don't understand why you are in favor of pitchforks and torches, and why you would criticize someone for suggesting that they wait for the guy to get arrested.

I never said he was innocent, I said in this country we get things like trials. Your holier-than-thou response that attempts to paint me as a defender of spousal shooters is misplaced and unfair.

I think Neighbor is expressing the frustration that many people feel about the time the process is taking. It is my understanding that these kinds of test results take many months, even in a case that probably is a homicide. For folks who know the family, accepting Mr. VMI's statement that there was an argument, and "a gun was introduced," there is no way that Mrs. Teague could have been the one who "introduced a gun." Even if she had, he is twice her size and who could believe he could not take a gun away from her. If she came after him with a gun, how is she the one who suffered the fatal wound and he was back living in the house 2 days after she was killed? As you can see there are many questions and many people, while understanding there is a process, want to make sure the police get it correct--whatever happened. Having said that, having suddenly lost your wife and the mother of your threee children, one would expect to see some indication of remorse or recogntion of the loss. There is none of that.

you may find this hard to believe but people arent fast enough to dodge bullets like in the matrix. i dont know what happened but i do know he, like everyone else deserves a fair investigation and if it comes to it, a fair trial.

make no assumptions, the world is more fucked up than you make it out to be.
