Divorcing my wife after 20+ years of meh

I have been married to my wife for 21 years and I think I am ready to move on. I work hard enough to afford to support a family in Fairfax County but my wife has turned out to be an unappreciative bimbot.
I bought a BMW a few years ago and she constantly holds that over me when vacation planning and we can't go to fancy places. I admit I'm in a business where you need to have to project an image of success, and that means being a douchebag and parking a BMW at work just for the image. And a lot of business gets done on the golf course, but my unworldly wife just doesn't get that such things are what pay for the house and the kids in this county. It is "table stakes" and a cost of living in this wealthy county.
I have two kids under twelve and I think the separation is going to be hard on them. But she seems to want to take this in a direction of separation, too busy trying to lose the 55 pounds she gained since she was my svelte new bride at the gym (which costs a fortune, and not really working). Add to that her iPhone and stuff getting stolen all the time at Lifetime and I probably could have bought HER a BMW.
She hasn't put out in over five years (typical NoVA first-world reasons of "body issues" etc etc etc etc), and though I tolerated that crap for the kids I have grown weary of it, admittedly drifting a couple of times but damn if you can't get it at home then is it really cheating? Another post I guess. If we're separating then at least I can move on while the parts still work and I make good bank.
She hangs out online all the time and curses a lot in front of the kids while she's yelling at me for being successful. Ah well, some things just aren't meant to be I guess and I hope my kids aren't ruined. Most kids nowadays experience that I guess, I'm sad it's probably going to happen here.

So it sounds like main reason for getting a divorce is getting you balls busted about having a car you cannot quite afford. By the way pretty much everything you cited is standard fare for us men in marriage. Wives get fat and not so attractive, they stop having sex for any number of reasons (see 'getting fat and not so attractive') and they bust our balls.
No offense but did you think this is unusual. You do realize your next woman will pretty much do exactly the same thing.
As for the kids well I have some the same age and Im glad to bite the bullet and make the most of growing old with my wife. Not a walk in the park by any means but I figure my kids give love and deserve love back in a way that is not as painful as divorce. Even if things were bad so long as we are not at each other's throats, I can and will stick it out at least until they are gone from the house.

For all you kiddies out there reading this take note. Don't hook up or marry people solely for attractiveness or money. It will come back to bite you sooner or later. Connect with people that you can get along with, that are reasonably mature, that you can respect now or 20 years later when they have gotten a bit older. It will save you a lot of aggravation.

REally tragic for the kids. Divorce ALWAYS shatters them no matter what. Sounds like your soon to be ex is alot better off without you and your self-centered attitude. You should be asking yourself WHY she acts the way she does - what are YOU doing that needs improvement.....
