Yes, and as a result, the meals tax did not pass.

Ryan McElveen is trapped at FCPS.

Pat Hynes will be forever branded as an advocate of business boycotss to promote her policy agendas.

Karen Garza took the money and ran.

Scott Surovell showed that he did not have a clue.

Sharon Bulova is upset, but no one seems to care.

Biff is in a mild state of panic over the possibility that football will be eliminated.

Well, since the meals tax failed the ongoing slide in quality will continue. In the next 5 years Prince William schools will be beating us in most categories just as Arlington and Montgomery are doing now. The people have spoken and the people have chosen ignorance. As we all know ignorance costs the most in the long run.

LOL

No logic in this statement at all, only opinion.

A true showing of ignorance is your statement.

If you think the "Meals Tax" is what was going to "save" the counties horrible spending habits and catapult our schools ahead of other counties, well please go educate yourself in reality.

Then come back to talk with the adults.

Braddock Elementary is a good example of the current problems with FCPS. A school with 850 kids. There are 36 teachers for grades kindergarten through 5th grade, giving a pupil-teacher ratio of 1:23.6. However the total school staff is 142, and even if custodians, cafeteria staff, Librarian, nurses are excluded the staff still exceeds 100.

Certain people had come to the realization that FCPS needed a lot more money in order to advance their hidden agendas (e.g., getting a job with a current FCPS contractor). One ruse these people used was to say that passage of the meals tax would somehow save the schools and make them better. No one ever said it would solve the problem of horrible spending habits-those are part and parcel of how FCPS operates, and the only thing that will change that is choking off FCPS' money supply (and the non-passage of the meals tax appears to be a step in the right direction).
