Certain people had come to the realization that FCPS needed a lot more money in order to advance their hidden agendas (e.g., getting a job with a current FCPS contractor). One ruse these people used was to say that passage of the meals tax would somehow save the schools and make them better. No one ever said it would solve the problem of horrible spending habits-those are part and parcel of how FCPS operates, and the only thing that will change that is choking off FCPS' money supply (and the non-passage of the meals tax appears to be a step in the right direction).
