I would hate to see Clifton Elementary close for various reasons. The school board is has a meeting July 13th and Clifton Elementary is on the agenda. Parents should attend and make their opinions heard. http://www.fcps.edu/news/swcountyschls.htm

I got a postcard today saying they are taking reservations starting today, even though the official opening isn't until July 13. So if you are really interested in getting in, call and get in before the crowd on the 13th. oh...and be sure to post a review! I will give them a few weeks to work out the problems. They have done a really nice job landscaping. It really needed that.

As far as I know, all the drive in movies in Northern Va are gone. They do have a summer 'drive in movie' in Centreville during the month of August. Its family fare, not a traditional drive in theater. http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/performances/starlight.htm

Looks like Eaton's trial has been continued to September. This seems to be dragging out ridiculously long.

The homeowner didnt die in the fire....they were out of town. It was an elderly relative that was killed.

Actually, I was wondering the same thing a few days ago. At first there seemed to be workmen there, maybe they were just boarding up the windows and doors or something. But lately, the yard is overgrown and nothing is being repaired. Perhaps its too painful to move back into the house their elderly relative died in? And besides, who would want to live in a location like that on such a busy str

There is one in Centreville that just had their 'Grand Opening'. How grand could that be? Its in the same shopping center where Glory Days, IHOP, Papa Johns and many many Asian stores are. Might be called Centreville Crossing. Sort of across the street from the Centreville Fire Station and Alto Plaza. Since it just opened, its probably still clean. Not too terribly far from Burke if you tak

This woman posts this ad once a week. Usually it has pictures. This guy, lilmoneypimp, sure doesn't sound like someone I'd want spending time with my kids, even if he is their father. She needs to give up and be happy they have a good step-father. If she is looking for money, he doesn't sound like he is the type to generously contribute to his kids upbringing. Poor kids.

I would never buy their 'maintenance contract' again. It was a major rip off. When we called to get something that was wrong with it fixed....all they could give us is an appointment 3 weeks out. We showed up for the appointment and they said they had no record of our appt...then did us a big favor by giving us one another three weeks out. They also say you can go other places at a discount..

They sure made a mess of traffic this morning when they were loading everything on to the train in Clifton. Kind of a stupid thing to do during rush hour.

Who in the world would leave anything unlocked in a town where hundreds of non-residents drive through each day? Its a sad commentary on our society, but one can never assume they are safe anywhere these days.

I didnt see anything on the news or in the newspapers about this. Or did I over look it? I guess traffic fatalities are becoming so commonplace around here, its not worth reporting. Sorry for the person who lost his/her life's family.

Traffic was a mess at that intersection around 4:00. Channel 4 reported that the body of an elderly man was found inside. The roof was totally gone by the time I went by. Sympathy for the family, not only their family member was killed but their house appeared to be a total loss.

Read on wtopnews.com today that he was going 80mph and alcohol was involved. They also said the cops did 'due diligence scouring the scene'. Read at: http://www.wtopnews.com/?nid=600&sid=1597756 (hope the link works)

Vee Dot is right. They are trying out a new system of pretreating the roads with a brine solution. I wonder if they will get a chance to see if it works since we haven't had any snow or ice. Seems like if they put it down too soon, the effectiveness would have worn off from rain, road wear, etc by the time it snows.

I saw them at the Walmart on Liberia in Manassas. But I would think if one has them, all the stores have them. It was in the seasonal aisle. With all the rest of the Valentine stuff.

Does anyone use a mobile groomer? Any good experiences? I think my paranoid dogs would do better if groomed at home. And it saves wear and tear on the car since they get car sick. Ugh!

Just saw warheads at Walmart nicely packaged in a plastic heart for Valentines day. Gee, I sure hope I get that instead of Godiva Chocolate.

I drove through at 6:30 Friday morning and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. You could always ask at the Clifton Store, they usually have the latest on what goes on in town.

That decision would probably be up to the Trummer family. I would imagine when it opens, they would like the business and try to build up good will and would honor it. Thats just my opinion. It looks like it will be a while before they open though. The interior is being totally renovated. It appears there is still lots of work to be done.

I never saw anything in the Post or on the news about this accident. If you hear how the child is, please let us know. I hope she wasn't injured too badly. That doesn't seem to be a particularly dangerous area, maybe its just that its getting dark so early and people are going too fast along there.

How strange that there wasn't anything in the newspaper about her passing. Or if there was, it wasn't very big. If the accident was in any way caused by mechanical failure, I can see why there was no press release by Fairfax County. As a tax payer, and someone who has children on school busses every day, I'd like to know if there is a problem with maintenance of the busses. It would also be ni

What tragic news! I wonder what took her attention away from the road. My sympathy goes out to her family. Its never a good time for something like this to happen, but its particularly sad this time of year. Pray...miracles do happen. The only good thing was there were no children on the bus. Bus drivers are so under appreciated. Their job carries so much responsibility (and headaches too

I DIDN'T request an absentee ballot and I'm getting the same stuff. If you have an address, it will come. Fairfax County is not giving any of your information to anyone. It will end on November 4.
