She's still allowed to have a few prescription medications, so "clean" probably means she didn't have anything besides those.

I don't envy your situation at all, though I think many of us will face some kind of change. No matter how well intentioned, when Washington makes moves two things happen: reactions/counter-moves by the industry affected, and unintended consequences. Often times both are worse than the problems intended for solving, and why real "reform" should be far-reaching, innovative, and very impactful to

She's a prison guard, not a private contractor. That sherrif's office is in charge of the prison, so any personnel actions go through that office (duh?). Prison guards generally aren't even cops! How can you be a sheriff's deputy and not be a cop? They call prison guards officers of the law to make them feel better. She's a corrections officer, not a police officer. You have TOTALLY failed.

Yes, just because that area's sheriff's office is in charge of the jail employees doesn't mean the jail employees are sheriff's deputies. That is a dumb conclusion. I guess the night shift cleanup crew are all sheriff's deputies?

That was one of those images where I could tell it was gory and it was a person, but I couldn't really tell what I was looking at. Like maybe it was so horrible that my mind wouldn't let me process the details of what I was seeing.

I am assuming the above is a joke, much of our modern mathematics comes from Arabic roots. But making Islamic nation relations one of a three-legged mission from Obama to his NASA administrator is dumb and has nothing to do with the agency's raison d'ĂȘtre.

It is an odd double-standard that Byrd is regarded as a hero of the Democrats with tangible, identifiable racist roots that reasonable people know one doesn't just "grow out of." You can't rise to that level in such an organization and just change your mind, doesn't happen. But then the media backlash and questioning by Maddow over Rand Paul, who explained his libertarian position on a few poin

That would be awesome if the judge yanked her and her lawyer back into the courtroom, read back her lawyer's statements on respecting the court, handed out copies of the nail art pic, then asked the defense why the judge shouldn't double the jail time.

TMZ reports it as real. I'm sure the judge said that too when she opened up that pic this morning. The court hearing would have been so much better if the bailiff whispered to the judge that was there.

That happens all the time. The untold part of the story was the doors were already chiming when she tried to stuff her kid's stroller into the train. I see it all the time.

I watched part of that, the look on her lawyer's face the whole time was priceless. She knew she was trying to sell a huge line of BS that boiled down to "my client isn't trying to disrespect the court even though she's telling you to toss off and she's the boss."

If you have the agreement, contact your insurance agent and FAX them a copy. The agent should be able to tell you if that is at all necessary or if you are getting scammed. If you tell the company you want to FAX the agreement to your insurance company and they say "uh, never mind" then it was a scam. Have someone else read the agreement before you sign it. One thing I learned the hard way is

Yes, I can honestly say that when I carry it is for self defense. I have no dreams to "rescue" anyone, in fact if I saw a crime in progress there would be several things done before a last resort of shooting the attacker. Police don't exist to protect, they exist to investigate after the fact and provide disincentive to commit crime. You have total freedom not to carry, and now that the second
