Are the clean-up crews going hands-on with the inmates on the regular? 'Cause the story says she is. And why would the the Sheriff's office be suspending her and doing an investigation? If she was just a guard with a private company wouldn't they be the ones suspending her and doing an investigation? I suppose both could investigate...but it just seems to me that when words such as "Maj. Rick Hoyt said the photos were inappropriate for an officer of the law and may break a department rule..." are used it would seem logical to conclude that she is (or was), infact, a Sheriffs Deputy.

She's a prison guard, not a private contractor. That sherrif's office is in charge of the prison, so any personnel actions go through that office (duh?). Prison guards generally aren't even cops! How can you be a sheriff's deputy and not be a cop? They call prison guards officers of the law to make them feel better. She's a corrections officer, not a police officer. You have TOTALLY failed.

fairfax, loudoun and PW sheriffs run their detention center. Are they not all sworn police officers? Last time I checked they were I know its not arkansas but im sure it's the same just about everywhere.
