This early morning was pretty slushy especially on sidewalks and my guess is that FCPS officials closed schools as a precaution. However, after checking the weather update, it looks like the next round of storm is rearing its' ugly face here soon. Be prepared for possibly another day of no school tomorrow.

I went to this new laundromat in Reston not too long ago. I have very large comforters and blankets that needed washing. My washer capacity is standard, but not big enough for these comforters/blankets and I am a renter (I don't live in an apt complex). So...I tried this place and it was not too bad, a little pricey, but otherwise clean.

"The arrogance is astounding." Tell me about it. Amazing....scratching each other's backs--the PTAs and the SB involving in this elementary school redistricting. Nothing is transparent these days when it comes to redistricting and the SB.

I think This Just In poster was playing a joke. Tomorrow is forecasted be in the upper 40's. For tomorrow, schools will be open, maybe with a delay.

I doubt he is the real Bob Ryan because he said this.. "Delay: 75% chance Closing: 20% chance" Shouldn't it be 25% chance of schools closing? My "antenna feelings" are that there will be school delays for tomorrow.

"The money spent on this boundary study and the money spent on the SLEEP study both could have been better used to provide resources to our classrooms and raises for our teachers.I think the school board has evolved into profeesional politicans instead of individuals trying to serve our community - and that is a sad state of affairs." I totally agree!

Just some thoughts about trailers at some FCPS schools (seems like most of them)--my two kids have experienced classroom trailers. I have never supported the idea of having trailers implanted with the schools for safety and other reasons. A few years ago in my area, we were under a tornado warning and it happened very quickly. My kids' schools were nearby my work so I knew they had the same wa

"WAKE UP FAIRFAX COUNTY!!!!!! Two ways to even the score: 1. Vote new SB members in on November 2011 2. Vote HELL NO! on the bond referendum " That would be the thing to do except new SB members might end up following in old SBs' games and learning how to scratch each other backs. Like a poster said in a similar way, welcome to the art of redistricting in Fairfax County by FCPS's very own,

To the OP, Interesting question, how about answering your own questions such as what age group are you in? I am in my 40's and a couple things I have noticed is that most FFXUG members' posts are cynical and downright hilarious!

MrMeph, Really, it is rather annoying reading your posts with comments of "little Cody", etc. South Lakes went through a major renovation and a face lift last year. Nothing for WSHS for example. SLHS is an attractive looking school, but so much money was spent on the school and other over spending on things like the IB programs, etc to other schools which I believe was one of the factors

That explains the cops barricading the end of the John Milton Drive yesterday. I was driving on it and had to turn around and go back on Fox Mill Road as an alternative route. I certainly hope the stabbed victim will be alright.

"While WSHS and Langley HS are now listed in the CIP, addressing schools like WSHS in the new school renovation queue has been suspended for at least this year. " Cut and pasted from an earlier post. Wasn't Langley recently renovated to expand the school? Why is Langley still on the CIP?
