I certainly didn't play enough full rounds to calculate a handicap. Wonder if Mike is giving us pre- or post-handicap score? Don't know how that works. Maybe golf should have weight classes.

There's no way he keeps a handicap, because you actually have to pay a yearly dues to maintain one. And everyone knows that he doesn't have any extra cash because he's too busy slaying the dragon TO FEED HIS FAMILY. That and you have to record your scores and what the slope rating is etc. And that takes actual effort. And we all know how Mike feels about effort.

a couple of weeks ago, Mike was bragging about a 98 (or whatever it was).

And no, there isn't any free version of an official USGA handicap. You must join a men's or women's club and you must pay dues to get your GHIN. Any free handicap calculator offered by Golf Digest or some other bullshit doesn't count at any tournament or respected by anyone who gambles on the course. I didn't say $30, I don't see that around here in Falls Church VA, up the road a ways from where they are located. Trust me , it's more expensive here. It's possible someone could build quite a business in a city environment but that doesn't happen in the burbs (PS, I've done it, it's fill in money, not a real job.) and certainly nothing I would rely on as income.

I would be embarrassed to introduce him to people if he were in my family.

Ask any woman what they want in a man and it's the ability to take charge of a situation and provide for the family. There is a trend now where women work and men sit on their asses at home and don't shop or clean the house, but fuck around on Play Station. It's more of a millennial thing where it's okay to be a needy man-child. I guess in some ways that makes Robb a pioneer. But if a woman had to choose between that and a guy who busts his ass to put food on the table, guess who most women would pick...even the younger ones.

And Mike just plows ahead completely ignoring the comment. Yep, Mike is Father of the Year!

I'm not pouring gas on this lame flaming golf thread, but "did your father play against Jesse Owens?" Seriously, that's some Spewak level of sports knowledge there. Last time I checked, Owens was an Olympic sprinter. One does not play against track and field athletes. But my father DID play against Owens . . . at golf. My old man had a handicap, but poor Jesse didn't. Bastards wouldn't let him into the club for some reason.
