If Mike has so many people clamoring for his content and so badly wants his listeners dime, why doesn't he offer more shows on his interests or those of his crew. For his paid subscribers why doesn't Buzz do a 1 hour news show a week? Robb a music or old time variety show? Ronic a show on jews? Why? Because Mike is an egomaniac who could not stand the fact that some one else was sharing his spotlight and that maybe surpass him. If he was smart he would of snatched up BOAD, Tech 411, and started a few shows of his own. Golf, booze, food, whatever. He already is paying to maintain a website and for bandwidth, has an advertising guy, has a studio. Only one thing stands in his way... Ego. Granted I wouldnt listen to most of these shows, but with Mikes supposed vast down loaders and supporters it should be a no brainer for the big guy. Also how much free time can one guy have? Show so initiative you fat fuck, don't just sit around and expect everyone to come to you and and apologize for the way CBS and the business treated you after years of mimicry.

I hear you, They say they don't save the good stuff, but we know thats bullshit.
I think it also has to do with the fact that the BOAD show was always 4 or 5 hours and it always seemed that they really got going around hour 2 or 3. So maybe recording the shows back to back emphasizes that and also that they let loose and swear in the paid show? I hope that they get phones soon and can take calls, play dumb ass games, and do interviews. Unlike Mike, BOAD had some good loyal guests and callers. Chad and Oscar always did research and were ready for the interviews and glad to have them. They also had a great hodgepodge of different guests and didn't rip them apart or ask dumb questions to embarass the guest or to get a cheap laugh. They would just let the wack a doo talk and make himself the ass and then to proceed to destroy them after the interview and take some great calls. This also led to great interaction with Drab and his producer responsibilities.

I like BOAD...

I don't like Mike, but I still think that asking fans to pay for "premium" content is hurting your ability widen your fan base. Just put your best content out there, if enough people like it, an opportunity will present itself. You are building a brand.

I believe the main goal of Oscar (and Chad) is to remain out there and relevant until a radio opportunity comes along. When Chad's contract is up, the possibility of BOAD on real radio can become a reality. Until then I think they should give their fans what they want and allow new listeners to discover the show without being scared away by a membership fee. They both have jobs that support them while allowing them to set a little aside for a rainy day, so really they shouldn't allow the opportunity to make a couple of bucks now to bite them in the ass later.

I know the two shows are very different, but they should use MOM as a warning not to be too nearsighted and oblivious to the big picture. Mike may be making a few bucks now, but his business model (and lack of talent) is killing his future.

Cool, then you know nothing about the program since you admittedly don't listen to the show at all. So you can just use this as your last post about BOAD.

Given that I listened to the Crazy Kara episode and commented on it here, it's obvious I listen to the podcast, at least occasionally. Do I listen to it regularly or consider myself a huge fan? No.

I laughed my ass off at K&M this morning. Not for the reasons you might think, though.

Mike played clips of Larry King criticizing his replacement, Piers Morgan. Mike openly chastised King, saying that it made him look small to criticize the guy who replaced him and blaming him for his loss of a job.

Seriously, Mike said this.

Mike.

Who blames Chad Dukes for ending his career.

Yeah I heard that too. I think Mike's on the verge of a meltdown, or at least under a lot of stress. I may be reading too much into stuff he said in the few minutes I listened on my way in today, but in the Larry King tapes he talked about what you mentioned, and how it's hard to admit when your time has passed (or something to that effect--talking about how Larry may have been forced out by CNN), and later when they kept cracking up playing Larry saying "Peirs Morgan--I'm coming" he suddenly said "FIRE ME!"

I hadn't heard the "Fire Me" remark. Though the "I'm coming" was marginally humorous the first time, they kept playing it like it was fucking comedy gold. It wasn't. And he kept doing set ups for Shamrock to use it that made no sense.

You guys need stop listening to K&M! I know you're doing it for material to bash Mike, (of which there is always legion), but you're better off downloading the failcast for that. Listening to the Edge show might give him the ratings he needs to allow him to scrape by on the air for another quarter!

Bottom line: don't listen to his radio show (what actually matters for Mike's career), but feel free to listen to the failcast (which doesn't).

HoneyDipCrisp can list the podcast rankings all he wants, but that rankings list is about as relevant as a Robb Spewak audio clip.

I usually listen to Elliot, but he was on commercial, so I switched to the Edge. It usually isn't worth it to listen to for me mainly because their show ends at 9AM which is when I'm usually going to work so unless I want to listen to their wind down and wrap-up at the end of the show, which is not really entertaining, it's not worth my time.

Not that I'm a big fan of Elliot but there's really not much to choose from in the mornings. I like him enough. He used to annoy me but I've gotten used to him.

He sure the fuck beats Kane. I can't stand how Kane pauses after he says something...like it's so fucking brilliant that the listeners need a moment or two to compose themselves. And virtually everything on that show is pre-packaged and canned shit that he is trying to put over on the listeners like it's real.

He will now mention it on his show. The fat-fuck still think fat-Chad "took over" his old job. But all things considered, Mike actually swallowed his pride a little bit. Mike still thinks he is living in 1999 though.

The rankings are the only direct comparison between Mike's and Don's shows.
All they demonstrate is that MIKE IS CONSISTENTLY MORE POPULAR THAN DON.

The Don Geronimo Show has dropped to #177, so it appears the TV show has done nothing for his unpopular podcast.

Good points. He also referenced Larry King, and he seems to have had the realization that pettiness is ugly.

There was also a veiled reference to Don, and how exhausting the negativity and warring can be. It's encouraging to see Mike trying to grow into a more positive person.

Dons ratings are a 6.8, 4th place. He reads em every month.
Don is on an AM station.
Mike is on FM, and scores position 25-28.

And Mike isn't on tv everyday, on a CBS owned tv station, or anywhere else.

But he has a better podcast ranking???? WTF. And where do these bullshit proclamations come from, ITunes? NOT

I'm a huge fan of Mike's, but even I'll admit the Kirk & Mike Show is not Mike's best effort, but even THIS show is beating Don's podcast! Ouch.

That MOMS pod from yesterday was really an eye-opener.

First of all, kudos (I guess) to Mike for giving credit to BOAD, Rally the Horde, and being willing to (ostensibly) burry the hatchet finally over CBS.

His comparisons of himself to Layee King are laughable considering the fact that Larry's show never took a nose-dive after the departure of co-host.

Notice he took another shot at Don with his comment alluding to how "it used to be drama all the time" on their show.

Mike (to Oscar): "You never laugh as hard on this show as you do on that one." The fact that Oscar, the king of the over-laugh doesn't really get into in on MOMS, just shows how flat and unfunny the entire ordeal is. Robb is right, they NEED to be funnier, but they need to realize that they don't have the capacity to do so.

K&M was funny this morning...because of Jon Lovitz. Mike actually did a good job of shutting up and letting the guy who is actually funny talk. If they did more of that, the show might do better in the ratings.

Oh, and having a guy on the show talking about sluts leaking in Hugh Hefner's Grotto IS Man Talk. Not this Cake Boss interview shit Mike likes to do.

The only criticism I have is that Mike didn't bring up Lovitz's war with Andy Dick (at least, not when I was listening). Stern and Carolla have gotten good mileage out of that. It would have been nice to hear Mike man-up and be willing to piss off a guest a little.

Motion to make a new rule to flat-out ignore HDC's rankings, since the fool can't figure out that Don Geronimo does not run a podcast. He has a radio show that's put with little thought on iTunes as a 3 hour chunk. A radio show that's #3 in the market, despite being on AM.

O'Meara is the one that runs a middling podcast that's on two low wattage after-thought AM radio stations.

Do I have a second for this motion to ignore HDC? May any violators be forced to wear Spewak's haircut for a week.

Yeah, I don't think Carla is that hot. Don't get me wrong, shes WAY too hot for LFF, but overall Carla is like a 7.5. still a pretty funny video though. If LFF did try to eat Carla, that's an accurate representation of how it would go down.

I'm not going to bother shuffling through an episode of the failcast to figure out what you guys are referring to. Suffice it to say, if Rob(b) came up with it, it's safe to say it's complete shit.

Hey, Rob(b) is hella smart! Ask him anything about crappy television shows from the '60's, even writers and producers and crap, and he will know it! That takes some real intelligence. Also, don't forget that although he went to VCU, he COULD have gotten into UVA, Va Tech, or William and Mary. Seriously, he said that on the Don and Mike Show once. But mostly, he's great at braying like a jackass at everything that the painfully unfunny Mike O'Meara says, and repeating, "Who are you?" every 8 seconds when Mike O'Meara is doing an 'impression'. Rob(b) = genius.

All I can say is wow.

Robbbbb looks like he just woke up after a few nights rest on the local park bench in that video. I love how he has the beard shaved oh so carefully to give him somewhat of a pseudo jawline on his fat head. At least he wore his best sweatshirt for the shoot. Thank god YouTube is not Smell-O-Vision capable.

And this whole "Cat" idea... it needs to be taken down to the local animal shelter and euthanized.

I have to say that Spewak is looking thinner. However, given the fact he has been shitting himself in bed, I'm not sure that is the result of a conscious effort on his part. The guy looks sick.

Jesus Christ Robbay. If your 39 and Omeara looks like your Irish twin, it is time to start reevaluating the lifestyle. I actually love this video because as a 36 year man who thought he has fallen off, I now feel reassured that its not that bad. That dude wont make it to fifty at this rate. Look at his flushed alcoholic complexion stopping around the hairline. Trust me my Doctor pointed out the same thing to me, also denotes high blood pressure. I bet he has huge red spots all over his chest also. I'm not saying he is a full blown alcoholic but even in moderation booze does terrible things to the body, especially the already unhealthy.

I watched the CAT video this morning on the website you don't have to, here is the deal.

There is no special event; it was just a crazy morning zoo-type gag!! They were just building up the incredible tension to unveil a slightly re-designed website (and I do mean slightly.) PLUS the secret code promised last week is for a whopping 10% off all merch orders over $40 between now and Thursday.

Just another example of how the failcast is now mainly devoted to selling shit to the listeners. I remember back in the day when Mike went off on Bill O'Reilly for using his show to sell fanclub memberships and merch on his show. Mike really has no shame left at all.

Unfortunately, it's not up to that level of quality. I mean, if The Edge did a morning zoo-type schtick like that, they would be announcing an Amy Mann concert at the Birchmere or SOMETHING. MOM basically rolled out NOTHING.

Lame. Very lame.

Glad to see they put zero thought or preparation into it. I mean, Oscar is reading cue cards? And Rob(b)'s bit at the end is not only not funny, but makes no sense (CAT is like a trip to Japan???)

Shit. Utter shit. If that's the best these guys can do, it's way past time to hang it up.

Well the updated site looks great...

I wonder if we will see a new "sponsor" emerge, perhaps a web design company? You know they did not pay for this shit. This was either paid for in trade or it was done by the cartoon guy for free as a thank you for the $20 that he got from the sale of t-shirts.

Most of the links (the ones that work) lead to e-commerce, so you know where their heads are. Fuck attracting listeners to the site, let's squeeze the remaining sycophants that visit this site daily!

Looks like they have given up on attracting paying sponsors and are now relying almost solely on VAR banner ads. What do you think the windfall is from that each month? $150? $200?

Yep, if you take a look at the links you will see that the ads are simply affiliate programs through DoubleClick or linksynergy. I imagine that the profit is in the triple digits. I really don't see any actual advertisers being stupid enough to drop some cash on this failing enterprise.

If I ever got a cold call from the O'Meara people I would quickly end the call by saying "sure I'll take an add, let me take a look at a Webtrends report first" which would then be followed by "hello, hello, anybody there?". Advertisers would see $0 ROI and they have no real numbers to entice even a nickel out of anyone's pocket.

It's no mistake that most of MOM's advertisers have been businesses that probably aren't sophisticated enough to ask the right questions. I'm sure Ronic goes in there with the bullshit about "3 million downloads" and "#1 rated comedy podcast" and gets starfucking orthodontists and pub owners who remember the D&M days to invest in failcast sponsorships.

Oh man he had so many verbal crutches on the radio show and I'm drawing a blank now. It's been too long. You could listen to any of his interviews though and just count them up. It was probably the most interesting thing about the interviews.

As for why he talks about his commute, I suppose that's because It's something "everybody relates to" and makes him more like one of the regular work-a-day schmoes out "slaying the dragon" as he is often wont to say. Also, Don used to talk about his daily minutia and it worked for him. Of course, he made it entertaining usually, and it wasn't exactly the same every day.

A few more Mike verbal crutches:

"incidentally"
"seriously"
"for some reason"
"Listen..."

And a few of Oscar's (mostly from BOAD):
"At the end of the day"
"I'm with you, but"
"You know, God bless."

So I listened to the failcast today...

It starts off with Rob(b) being angry that Oscar did not read his awful copy, word for word. Basically, Rob(b) swears that the video would have been hilarious, if only Oscar had properly sold the comedy gold that was lavished upon him via Rob(b).

So here it is directly from Rob(b) typos and all:

"Dear CAT participants:

Due to unforeseen circumstances largely due to intense internet web traffic due to the launch of the entirely redesigned MIKE OMEARA SHOW WEBSITE (which by the way, is not only easier to navigate… but ALSO GORGEOUS. It’s Amazing), we regret to inform you that CAT 2011 has been canceled.

Please exit The Blue Parrot in an orderly fashion and please everybody… DO NOT log of your computers at the same time. Let’s try to keep the internet flowing smoothly and free of log jams…

All Pre-purchased ticket will be valid for a 40% face value refund. Tickets bought today will be honored at CAT 2012.

The gift shop will remain open until noon today and ALL CAT T-shirts that have been purchased WILL BE DELIVERED, and become instant collector’s items. You can still purchase them at mikeomearashow.com, a newly redesigned website that will literally knock your socks off.

The outdoor CAT Carnival will continue until 4pm, and I, Oscar Santana, will be signing autographs in the Flea Market’s food court for the next hour. All rides cost one ticket. And yes, the Ferris Wheel is safe. Technically.

Stay close to your computer for details about the re-scheduling of the RJ Diaz look-alike contest and Buzz Burbanks “Lower Kissing” booth.

Mike O’Meara’s impressionist’s seminar has been canceled indefinitely.

Any questions regarding refunds should be submitted to Marc Ronick, who we are told, suddenly left the country.

Best, The CAT Management Team"

This is further evidence of exactly how useless that fat fuck is.
