That is pretty funny about Tesla copping attitude. Their next appearance will be at a bar mitzvah.

Maybe Mike could make his next appearance with a listener-only kazoo band.

Has anyone been looking at the U-Stream of the failcast? does LFF look like he's lost 22 pounds like he said on the Tuesdee Edge show?
If he has finally lost weight I'll have to come up with something new other than "LFF". What about WADA? What a dumb ass? I know needs some more thought.
Meanwhile for your viewing pleasure. I believe this is the Fredricksburg Hooters. Can you say Big Dufus after partay. I think better stick with Fairfax.

Yet they still hold more sway than a morning zoo DJ in Sacramento.

Saying he looks like Garth is very timely Don. This is the guy who people here think is so funny? He's the same level of crap as Mike.

That team both sucks on their own and, to be honest, weren't all that funny together unless you were maybe 10-14 years old.

I think you're safe as 1) he'll probably gain it back (it's some gimmick diet, right?), and 2) it's probably not even noticeable visually.

Oh, I don't think it's too hard to figure out which one is more likely to pass on sooner, rather than later. Which one tips the scales well north of 300? Which one drinks constantly? Which one's professional life is in chaos? Which one dumped a jillion bucks into a failed restaurant?

Nice shot of Mike's bike in the handicapped spot. I take it his obesity gives him an ADA exemption.

In all fairness, the restaurant thing was in no way Mike's own doing. He actually had a pretty good gig running until people who were supposedly his "friends" started stealing shit left and right from behind his back, including fleecing about 10k in cash right out of the safe and huge crates of meat and seafood that suddenly went "missing". People will criticize Mike nonmatter what- and he's man enough to shoulder that responsibility- but blame should be cast to the ones who betrayed his trust and ripped him off for a small fortune .

Exactly. The cops didn't really do much, and basically told him it was his word against theirs. I'm sure they questioned a few people but it was obvious they either couldn't or wouldn't do anything. So when Mike pushed the issue, they took it real personal and started to retaliate against him with ABC fines, basically shaking him down every chance they could get.

If he filed a police report, it would be public record. Given how much people like to post that stuff here, it would have been on here a long time ago.

As for the insurance thing, if he had a legit claim, he would have been reimbursed. Hence, he would have had no reason to go out of business.

Truth be told, the guy probably isn't a very good businessman. It's not like the economy was bad when his bar went under. I just don't think he knows shit about running a business. That would help explain why he sticks with a money-losing endeavor like the failcast.

I think O'Meara like being in the 'restaurant business' when it meant he could hold court with his posse and throw them drinks because it was "his joint".

Entertaining your buddies at a restaurant isn't a good business plan because you are giving stuff away.

Was O'Meara ripped off by restuarant staff? Maybe so, but a hands-on owner would hire a trusted GM to watch the stock and till like an eagle and fire rip-off artists and staff who were skimming.

But (drum roll...) that would take "effort" which is a quality our Mikey has a hard time with...

To be fair, I have noticed that at bars they hardly ever report losses. They just fire the individual. To say that he filed a report and had ABC violations as a retaliation is retarded and just being said to get people here worked up.

But I think Mike also let quite a few people drink for free and when you own a bar, you really have to keep that under control.

People who own/manage successful restaurants basically live at them. They are there first thing in the morning and last thing at night. If they are lucky, they might let the staff manage it on a Monday or Tuesday and get a one-day break.

From what I remember from the show, Mike was hardly ever on site. He would pop in a couple of days a week and "hold court," as you say. That's no fucking way to run a business. You don't open a business to impress friends. You open a business because you like doing the work and, hopefully, turn a profit. Impressing friends comes along when you actually make it.

This.

When I was growing up, I had a friend who lived down the street. His parents owned a local restaurant. Guess what? His dad was never home. First in, last out 7 days a week. Maybe he'd take a day here or there. Also, pretty much every bit of profit went back into keeping it running. Mike just ate into his profit figuratively, and probably literally, with all of his friends and family discounts in order to "be cool".

Someone should do their civic duty and forward that picture to the Manassas PD. Parking in a handicapped space just because you're a lazy fat fuck is a violation of the law...and a really assholish thing to do. What if Tom Gavin needed the space?

No, but its at least a factual consideration to take into account rather than some bogus "argument" that Mike was somehow an absentee owner who was giving out free shit to his buddies. Thats just plain ignorance. Mike spent alot of time taking charge down there, so much that it affected his home life and family. Gets kinda hard to do a radio show when your nerves are frazzled and running on 2-3 hours of sleep for weeks at a time.

I have no doubt that he spent alot of time down there but I doubt he was "taking charge". The business failed, someone is to blame. He was the owner, if there were problem people there, customers and/or employees, it is his fucking responsibility to take care of it. He can try harder next time.

"manassas" - you have got to be smokin' rock. O'Meara a "hands on owner"? Don't make me laugh.

It's really hard to do a quality radio show when you arrive at the station 15 minutes before air time hung over, grouchy and pissed that you have to be there.

To bad O'Meara didn't get the Sign of the Whale in DC, at least he'd identify with his saloon's brand name.

You are right. He was a great hands-on owner that made his restaurant a great success. That's why it's so popular today.

Look, honestly, people are predictable. It's possible he was a great hands-on owner who worked his ass off and the business still failed. It's just the opposite, that he threw money into this business just because he liked the idea of owning "his own" bar, thought it'd be cool to be Johnny-free-drinks to his drinking buddies while holding court there, and that the type of bar he would want is one that serves heavily drunk people and doesn't card so responsibly fits his character and is far, far more likely.

Seriously, how do you manage a restaurant effectively when you are in a different city everyday from 2pm to 7pm? By the time he could show up, dinner service would be halfway done. You realize how much quality control goes into prep?

There are two ways to manage a restaurant -- either BE THERE all the time, or hire a really good trustworthy manager and have him/her there ALL THE TIME. The problem with method #2 is that your theoretical profits are going to pay the manager. LFF chose method #3 -- doing a half-assed job.

Didn't he have some buddy running things for him? That's why you never have friends work for you. Never, ever hire someone you can't bring yourself to fire.

Restaurants fail all the time, even if the owners/managers do everything right. Doing it half-assed (i.e., the "O'Meara Way") was just begging to fail. And that's what he got.

His biggest mistake was opening a restaurant in the first place. I was watching Kitchen Nightmares the other day and the restaurant owner who, of course, had not previous experience said, "I eat at restaurants every night. Why should I have to pay for food when I can open a restaurant of my own?"

I think this is the kind of attitude people have when they open a restaurant. "Hey, I eat at restaurants all the time. I know what I like and don't like. I can open one, too."

Problem is it's a business...a very capital and labor intensive business with thin profit margins which require highly efficient inventory management skills to make successful. Most success restaurant owners spent years managing restaurants before actually trying to open on on their own. A DJ who likes hanging out at bars was doomed from the start.

Let's see. A restaurant owned by MOM had a sandwich named after MOM? So MOM named a sandwich after himself?

You see, it's only special when OTHER people in restaurants YOU DON'T OWN name a fucking sandwich after you. When you do it to yourself, you come off like an egotistical dumbass.

O'Meara's restaurant started out pretty good, but he treated the locals like crap and ran them away. He was catering to his fairfax radio listeners and that brought a lot of fights and problems. I am glad he went under. A fun, locally friendly establishment took its place.

So, your answer is "no." And for all your criticism, I doubt you have ever run a successful business yourself.

And if you've never run a successful business, that ties you with LFF.

Yes as a matter of fact, it's called the skin ripper. It is a plate full of mini sandwiches filled with vienna sausages. I love them because they remind me of little penises.

No, not really. But, feel free to think any which way you want.

Logic isn't your thing, is it?

What's wrong? Did the whole not having a successful business hit too close to home?

None, but it is wasy to sit there and criticize business endeavors when you haven't actually ever taken a business risk.

Uh, yeah. Like you would know what I have and haven't done.

As for Mike, he doesn't take risks. He makes stupid decisions.

For instance, a tight rope walker takes a risk by training and then walking on a tight rope from a great height. Mike doesn't train or lose weight, he goes out on the rope and then blames everyone else when his fat ass falls off. That's not taking a risk. That's being stupid.

The fact that it is a lot easier to say you run a successful business on an anonymous message board than it is to actually run one in real life? Yeah, I'd agree with that 100%

whats even stupider is that they totally stole that story from the podcast (buzz actually). oviously one of them download's mikes shows and steals ideas from him. the junkies really blow.

The notion of a story being stolen from Buzz Burbank is hilarious. By definition, Buzz only knows what he reads on the internet. You want to predict what Buzz will have on the news? Read Fark -- Buzz will have that story two days later. And he'll be the first to admit it. He's built a career on having a great radio voice and being able to read out loud.

Turn on radio 8:15 a.m. this morn to duh EDGE. For a moment I thought I was in Ground Hog Day cause LFF was getting Kirk to talk about his shaving routine. I heard this same conversation on the Kirk & LFF show a couple months back. Why even Kirk chimed in that he'd already told LFF about the shaving methods of the black man as LFF spewed on. Now I listen randomly to Duh Edge show and it's usually in the first hour but what does it say about LFF and his creative juices that I turn the radio on at a different time and a few months later and he's talking same shit. BLAH!

Buzz knows shit about sports. How the fuck would he know what a wristband or two minute drill is? And I highly doubt he knows anyone at the Redskins. If Buzz did say something, it was after it had been reported a week before.

Typical O'Meara. When he was teamed with Donnie G. he would but on everyone at JFK. The minute he had his show on JFK he was CBS's number one company man, calling into the Junkies and talking to his buddy "Lurchie", attending the JFK Xmas party, etc. etc.

What a phony, transparent piece of shit.

I'm surprised O'Meara can look Jack Diamond in the face after all his Harvey Joel Fisher bashing during the D&M days. Best best part of O'Meara's current job is that Jack Diamond knows what O'Meara is making now and laffs and laffs and laffs...

Now Rob(b)'s sandwich would be expensive as hell. It would cost a fortune to buy all the alcohol it would take to feed the steer raised to harvest its diseased liver.

All the MOM hater fags should just get on a bus to Sacramento so they can blow Donnie and get it over with. MOM Show might not be the edgiest but at least they don’t have to rely on being dicks and constant gross-out/molestation jokes to fill the show. Norton was on O&A today talking about O’Meara not wanting him on his show and as bitter as Mike might be, it reminded me that the MOM crew look classy next to the O&A crew.

Rob(b) talks about masturbating and shitting the bed. Yes, classy.

Also, Opie apparently lives in a $3.3 million apartment at Trump Place. If Mike is lucky, he'll be able to sleep in one of the dumpsters outside of Trump Place.

Just found this site...what a find. I wasted at least an hour at work reading old posts and lol'ing.

I'm curious, though - why do all the haters continue listening to this show? It's not like terrestrial radio where there are limited options; they have clearly sought out the podcast and listen regularly. If you hate the show and continue to listen, you're only extending its shelf life, right? I'm unclear if these people want the show to go away or just to be funnier.

Oh, and I'm not hating the haters since you all are funny assholes, but am more curious why you hatred is so pronounced
