Neighbor: I've seen you around the neighborhood lately. I hear you are a very industrious fellow.

Oscar: Yes. I have many businesses and jobs.

Neighbor: That's great! I have some hedges that need trimming. Can you come by this afternoon?

Oscar: Wait. You think I'm a Mexican laborer?

Neighbor: There's a quick $100 in it for you. I need an answer now. I'm due in Rossyln to inspect some investment properties.

Oscar: ¡Oh mira! la Uber es de en frente

The two Fatt Fucks had to talk Georgetown O5car out of knocking down what he suspects is a load bearing wall in the Spite House. He was all set, as he'd watched some youtube videos. He figured that the fireplace would hold up the house, and he would also jam a 2x4 up to aid in the support.

Jesus. That house will be worthless rubble by Christmas.

Starts at minute 52. The built-in shelves are a large part of what's good about the house. Of course he goes on Youtube to git edumacated about construction. Then minute 54 Fuckwaddle has his first ever moment of clarity in his life but sadly not related to his drinking, when he suggests that if it were doable it would already have been done.

Then Tom Haverford goes out and buys an accessory for for his iPhone to jumpstart the project. Also a 2 by 4, safety goggles, hard hat, sledge hammer. Maybe it's all a cover story for some Village People cosplay.

Thanks for the pic, peek. It sounds like El Spic has already started shittifying the built-in before figuring out that it probably is a load-bearing wall. Taking that little bookcase out isn't going to let in a significant amount of light anyway. Maybe he wants the illusion that his tiny house isn't tiny.

What he should do is get an El Chimney Sweep in during the warm weather to inspect and clean that chimney and put a squirrel cage on top while he's at it. If I had that house I'd look into getting a woodstove. Woodstoves are cool.

El Spic's priorities are totally fucked, no surprise there. The electrical issues should be top of the list.

And until I hear otherwise I'm going to assume he has a Federal Pacific breaker box and that would need to be replaced IMMEDIATELY. It might even be a line item in the El Binder from the El Inspector.

Not that surprising that Oscar wants to knock out the one redeemable feature in his shit shack to make his new abode "modern" and "open concept." He could have bought one of those ready made for a fraction of the price across the river. Also, the video obviously didn't feature the part where you submit architectural renderings to the city in order to pull the proper permits before beginning construction. What a complete moron.

Thanks for posting this. I'm exactly ONE YEAR out of the loop. I quit TMOS when they came back from July 4th break last year and Mike was acting like a complete dick.

I find it interesting that Don would mention Mike at all now. Personally? The last few Doncasts I listened to, with his last two partners, completely blew dog dick. Fan-Toam was a bust, and Little Joe, or whatever??? BFD.

Seriously, I think that Don is sharing these stories now so that the words start flying and his podcast gets higher ratings while listeners wait for him to rave and rant about Mike.

The Robb story is interesting, but you gotta admit that if Robb took away anything from being a radio SIDEKICK, it was going to be how to backstab people.
Don considered him in the "best buddy" relm for quite some time.

My feeling is that all the doors were shut eight years ago when the D&M show broke up. What opened up all the wounds was Buzz, who bounced between the camps and f'ed both of them over.

So....what have I missed? Was there a TMOS family jam at the Ye Olde O'Meara house up north???

If Oscar is able to knock out the bookcase without disastrous consequences, Mike would not be able to use that opening, even without a walker. And creating an opening there would limit placement of furniture in both rooms, making his place even more cramped.

Oscar can rely on his DIY skills and YouTube, however (let's just forget his powerwashing of his brick patio).

Didn't El Spic once tell Fuckwaddle that you can learn anything from a 15 minute Youtube video?

Minute 25

Why did he take the boilers out? Why did he turn the gas off? So far everything he's done has reduced the value of the property.

If he was willing to spring for someone who actually knew what he was doing, he could remove the upper living room ceiling ("I wonder if that's a load-bearing floor upstairs?") and the value would skyrocket because of the cathedral ceiling.

Lawyer: So where did you get the idea your chimney could bear the load of your roof?

Oscar: A Podcaster.

Lawyer: Does he have a background in construction?

Oscar: None, whatsoever.

Lawyer: Well, as you know, removing the load-bearing wall created the roof cave-in that compromised the wall you share with my client.

Oscar: How much is it going to cost to fix?

Lawyer: Tens of thousands of dollars. I understand you are fond of Uber. Let's just say you won't be using them for a while.

Oscar: At least my homeowners insurance should cover it.

Minute 10

So funny listening to El Spic struggling to spell DIY. At lease he got a little bit smart and stopped taking advice from random people on Facebook. He goes online to print out fake permits, but doesn't go to the website that tells him he doesn't need a permit. I am shaking my head ruefully. Is it any wonder I drink?

As usual Pony is right and Fatt Rob is wrong. Fake permits are a terrible idea.

Minute 17

No Fatt Robb, you can put the permits outside, just cover them with plastic.

Minute 18

El Spic thinks he's on the east side of Georgetown. Incorrectamundo.

Minute 19

Then he talks about breaking up the patio for which he does need a permit.

Minute 23

"I'm doing the best I can." No, doing the best you can would be to check the rules beforehand.

I don't know about that. He might burn the place down first.

His shirt has space to add 2 or 3 Beatles cover bands.

He can check that sucker off his bucket list. And not with a pencil, either.

Peek, actually fat people are usually a mere 25 or 30 pounds overweight. ..

Some would think it hilarious were peek to show up on Oscar's doorstep one night dressed as a DC code enforcement guy. All he would need would be a clipboard, skowl and fake-ish ID printed out like one of Oscar's permits.

Best part of today's show: Oscar relating how Shannon called to tell him someone from the city was there about the work being done and the "permits." She later texted him, "We're fucked."

If we believe Oscar. In this case, I do. Unlike the others, he readily admits to a good percentage of his idiocy. This G-Town DIY stunt ranks right up there. Too bad he doesn't have a law student friend to advise him.

This week, the building inspector pays a visit to the Santanas:

Inspector: Sorry to bother you, ma'am. I was walking through the neighborhood and noticed the building permits you had taped to the door.

Scholarship: How can I help you, officer.

Inspector: Yeah, thanks, but I'm not an officer. Anyway, DC permits are on colored paper. It appears these were printed on cheap, white printer paper. These appear to be fake. What do you say about that?

Scholarship: We're fucked!

Inspector: Ma'am, can you not be on the phone while I'm talking to you?

Scholarship: Oh, look! The Uber's out front.

Inspector: Ma'am, that's a street cleaner. Have you had a stroke?

Or an ICE agent. He could tell Oscar that his neighbors turned him in. When Oscar produces some ID, the agent could point to the fake permits and consider any IDs as possible forgeries, too. He could ask Oscar to show proof of income that supports the purchase of the house. Threaten to seize the property as proceeds from drug money.
Then offer to look the other way if he can bang Shannon.

Only listened to one show this week. For someone who loves to correct Oscar's English, Mike has a way of abusing the language, too. Twice in the show, he mis-used 'price point.' First he discussed how rubes can afford to buy lots of VistaPrint cards because of their low price points. Later he mentioned some radio loser who was only hired because of his low price point. MBA Oscar never said a thing.

First, it's been established that if you criticize someone's use of a word, you're a Nazi who's against education. I learned that the hard way.

Second, that's just Fuckwaddle's alcoholism-induced dementia kicking in, or should I say never stopping because it's permanent brain-damage?

Third, El Spic didn't say anything because he's really not clear on any of those terms (he makes the same error). Seriously, what kind of retard thinks fake permits for a job that doesn't require permits and yelling outdoors about your permits is a good thing?

None of this is a dig at you, but fun fact from your story: The radio loser with the low "price point" GOT HIRED.
