So I have to agree with all the differing opinions here for different reasons:

Yes this is about how TMOS is on a downward spiral we are all wanting to see end of one way or the other.

Off topic conversations can be had, because occasionally a disinterested opinion is important.

The in-fighting is often fun to read and engage in. Sometimes the show just just doesn't suck enough to make fun of.

So my main point to everyone is this: just keep doing what you are doing and I'll keep reading and engaging the posts I want to, that's what keeps me coming back. Thanks to everyone here for what you do, Hopefully jhopkins and I will have something to repay you all within the week.

On this eve of Father's Day I'd like to send a happy F day to Mike and Rob. Sure, they have some faults, but they've been good fathers.

I'd also like to send out a congratulations to myself for being a good dad and a champ. My kid is a big fan. That means everything to me.

2) He is king dweeb and has created a 'cool' personality to make himself feel good but is not even bright and with it enough to know the kind of person he claims to be is looked down on by normal human beings.
3) Everything he says is true and this whole image is carefully designed to cover for the fact that he has absolutely nothing of value to offer anyone. He has money and flashy watches, but what about a personality or anything at all going on above the neck? Nope.

That photo is evidence for what I am saying. We all know that Rob does not understand "sports games." We know that he would be more comfortable having his son involved in gay activities like the theater or soccer. Yet here he is supporting Rob Jr. in manly activity even though I'm sure it is very confusing to him.

That is flat-out good fatherhoodness.

You just blew my mind. I was just about to say this exact same thing. I mean EXACT same thing. If also like to add that the first time people started calling him a douche, he went full on troll and then disappeared for a couple months. Now he came back and I'm pretty sure he was hoping he could start over. He kind of did, until his true douche self came out. He got called out on it again and went full-on troll once again.

Enzo, I'm not going to address you obvious troll attempts, but I will still call you a douche. Even through this "Enzo the champ" character you've made, your true inner douche bag shines through. Now be a true "champ" and gracefully bow out.

Being a good father involves more than showing up to a kid's game (important, but let's be honest...pretty low-hanging fruit on the effort level if your name isn't Mike O'Meara). When Rob stops pretending to have a job and gets an actual job that pays actual bills, then he can claim to be a good father. Until then, he's the mooch living in his kids' mother's basement.

Speaking of Trump, if everyone can stand to listen to Friday's audio vault, where they play a clip of Trump, I invite you to note how much Mike sounds like him now. His speech pattern, his cadence, his misuse of the word "literally..." it is spot-on. Of course, LFF and Head were just cackling away, calling Trump an asshole and such, completely oblivious to the similarities.

Re: The Mike O'Meara Show

That same clip also shows how poorly LFF listens. Trump says "hundreds or thousands" of calls, tweets, etc. in support of his Chicago building's sign. LFF mocks him, believing he said "hundreds of thousands."

Relatively small thing, but I like piling on, even on the day created to honor New England fathers.

No II, you are correct and it's not a small thing at all. It changes the entire meaning of the sentence. So here's LFF making fun of Trump, and one of his sticking points is his own fuck up. It's not even something to make fun, if LFF got it right in the first place.

Mike bought a boat? Can't wait to hear him start complaining about the maintenance.

Speaking of the best comebacks, do you want me to untie the other half of my brain to show you my versatility of the English language? Or would you prefer I reference the drug and alcohol problems which contributed to the demise of your career?

"Show you my versatility of the English language"

You probably should untie the other half since your first sentence here is incorrect. Try Harder.

Or complain about the "entitled rich" people who have boats larger than his.

Truthfully...who the fuck cares what they think? I view it the same as people talking about Mike's daughters affinity for BBC...If you didn't say it, how is it a reflection on you? You said your piece, that was admirable....now let it fucking go

I move to ignore all posts by that moniker. We have an important responsibility here.

...I googled 23 footers. Not bad for weekend cruising. Maybe this purchase is why we never got a good fishing/marina/young boating buddy story. Seems like Mike begrudgingly admitted he had a boat. He always gradually gets around to it...but first it seemed like a rental or something.

LFF's been dancing around the boat issue for awhile. At first it sounded like he was chartering boats, but then he was buying gear "to leave on the boat". So let's be clear: thirty-five dollar late fee for returning a motorcycle trailer a day late is totally unacceptable, and it's preferable to miss a show and call in from the road for 2 minutes of bad cell phone reception instead. But buying a boat, a money-hole only surpassed by a failing restaurant, is A-OK. He made it clear he didn't have adequate homeowners insurance on his FLA Shit Shack, I wonder what type of policy he has on the boat. I haven't listened today, does he mention again trailering his boat up to Maine? Truly this will be a great opportunity for epic LFF Fails. He can't load a motorcycle without help, let's see how he does with a 23' Center Console Boat. That's even longer than a 22' Box truck.

Where is RP3 when you need him? (OK...don't need that clown to show up.)

It's so odd when Mike dancing around an issue, eventually admitting to something in a manner that makes his previous statements seem dishonest. If you are a long time listener, you can tell when he's doing it. All evasive and shit.

It IS longer than a 22 foot box truck.

Did you know Mike once drove a 22 foot box truck to Florida? I don't know about you, but it seems like driving a 22 foot box truck would be a lot of work. A 22 foot box truck would probably give someone a really good idea about what it's like to drive a 23 foot boat. After all it is bigger and longer than a 22 foot box truck, which Mike drove from Virginia to Florida.

22 foot box truck.

LFF drove a 22 foot box truck from his 1903 Victorian. All the way from the 1903 Victorian to Florida in a 22 foot box truck. Hand to god. That was some drive, in a 22 foot box truck full of contents from a 1903 Victorian.

Listened to Norm Macdonald with Gilbert Gottfried. I thought maybe GG's voice would be too annoying to deal with, but his comments on Caherine Zeta-Jones was comedy gold. I also recommend his comments on Jerry's Kids and the segue into Man Grates. Man, that is fearless. "We're all going to hell." Compare that to the TMOS' watered-down radio-friedly Wal-Mart show.

So, let's drive the 22 foot box truck to Florida, then complain about the horrible drive. Then let's trailer the motorcycle back to Virginia and complain about the trip both ways. Yes, of course trailering a boat longer than either the truck or motorcycle trailer, twice as far, should go great! OK not twice as far, just 600 miles.

Not to mention the great mileage he'll get from hauling a load like that with the European SUV.

Everything he does makes sense.

A 23 foot boat can run from like $15k to 30k

They aren't usually very nice. They are day trip boats. The big difference in boats are when you get one with a bathroom and a cabin. Those start at like 30'some feet.

So, a 23 foot boat your options are trailer or slip. Many places don't want your boat parked out in front of your house. So with a slip and maintance he is looking at maybe $5k / year.

Present to himself after selling the Vic?

He did tell the story recently of a boat he bought in Virginia. It broke down the first trip out, the former owner stopped by in his new boat and of course he was an ass because he sold Mike his old one.

UPDATE - WJFK WHERE ARE THEY NOW?!?!

Frequent caller Kevin BDK McCarthy, in between attending international film festivals and interviewing the biggest names in Hollywood, has moved all the way up to frequent contributor on major cable and network affiliates, and is literally (literally! Hi Mike) on a plane to Hong Kong as I type this to attend the Transformers IV movie premier.

Frequent caller Chad Dukes hosts one of the station's top rated daily programs.

Former intern Chris Kinard is the station's program director, running the station and calling the shots.

Former on-air talent/station employee Rob(b) Spewak is... well... who knows.

His downfall was staying with LLF thinking they would find the magic again, catch that lightning in the bottle.. Probably could have worked if LLF had some drive and understood morning zoo radio was dead and stopped just coasting on his name, thinking it will bring back old fans and everything was alright.

Kinda too late now.

Didn't know it was an Audi, I looked and a Q5 is rated for 4400, a Q7 is 6600. So if it's much of a boat, with trailer, he'll be awful close for the lower rating. Should be a great ride for a long trip either way. Any chance he has load levelers for the trailer? Or an anti-sway bar since the boat is definitely longer than the SUV? I watched a Jeep Wrangler turn over once when the 16 foot trailer behind got a little too active for the driver.

Sad Fat Fuck Rob(b) a/k/a/ Cackling Fat Fuck Rob(b) has close to zero initiative. As he relates in Open Mike, he basically begged for any old job at JFK after TMOS was canned. And was rejected. And had no backup plan. And just sat at home, drank, and volunteered at his kids' school. And sat some more. And drank even more.

Until, like Blanche DuBois, the kindness of (almost) strangers Steve Bridges and Oscar came to his rescue. Bridges to give him a little weekly record spinning gig and Oscar to deliver to him and Mike the "podcast in a box" deal.

The most initiative I've heard him display was the effort he put into wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' the director of his daughter's musical would approach him to coach up the poor kid playing the DJ, or even better, take on the role himself.

It's a rough job, you have to put effort into it, sometimes you have great talent and still lose.
If you have no talent and pin your hopes on the magic that happened well over 15 years ago, you might be fucked.

I was wondering if he ever tried to get a job someplace else, I'm guessing no.

I'm not interested in Mike's rich dude stuff because I want to count his money. I just think it's interesting in the context of tales he's told the audience. Are they just so irresponsible that they buy something the second the collectors stop calling? Maybe the house sale was a big deal. Those Audis aren't anywhere near cheap....

Ole Mikey is richer than you thought. But his reluctance to mention the car shopping (prime show topic, you'd think) or the boat buying (seriously, we hear about his wicker furniture shopping!) is consistent with my theory that his stories are inconsistent. You can't cry poor while crying rich while worrying about a minimal late fee while buying an Audi SUV.

I feel like any smart listener would start to pick up on these weird Mike evasive moments.
