Perhaps these really are the end times for the Failcast. I have not checked out the new podcast on MORE. What will be interesting to see is that even though MORE and Mike will make some money if the new show has some success, Mike and Robb may do something to wreck it out of jealously and spite.

I would use a different tag line every day centered around blasting Robb

"The Rob and Joe Show. Our Rob is actually funny"
"The Rob and Joe Show. Our Rob raises the laughter killed by the other Robb from the dead"
"The Rob and Joe Show. Our Rob is the breadwinner in his family" ...........

Rob(b) on the radio is the equivalent of the auditions for "American Idol," the early auditions. Not the ones when some clown just wants to goof off and get on t.v. The ones when the auditioning person -- normally a pretty young woman -- has been told all her life how talented she is, and such a gem, and going to be a star someday. And then she opens her mouth, and can't sing a note. And when they tell her so, she just can't believe it, and she runs away, and Mommy tells her that those darned judges just don't know talent.

That's Rob(b). Radio has rejected him completely, and he just won't acknowledge it.

My son Rob IS talented. I see it and his wife sees it. That is why she goes to work everyday at the Jones Outlet Store in Leesburg and works over 40 hrs a week while my talented son gets to play radio for 1 hr a day.

Look, I know my son has only worked 1 hr a day for the past 5 years, but you have to realize that he is a talented boy and can't be bothered to have responsibilities.

I am proud of my son. No one plays YouTube videos from the web on a podcast better than him!

Rob and Joe have had their podcast for a few years, I think Mickey must have talked them into joining the "network". Hopefully they didn't give up to much in advertising. Maybe Mike realized that with his own show failing, he could fill up with enough good shows to make the same fabulous money without all the "work". Look for the MORE Broadcasting Amazon tab!!!!

Really? Let's recap the body of the last 3 episodes...Monday and Tuesday Mike whined about Richard Sherman being an entitled immature hump. Today there was a discussion of Robb's love of the Beatles and Elvis...Any comedy was clearly unintentional...

This!!! Plus today he said he wanted to talk about Blackfish. Granted that documentary has been discussed everywhere (joe rogan ep with Phil Demurs) did they get to it? Nope instead he thinks talking about five head shoveling and Robb's selfies are riveting. Shows have been ass! I'll give credit where it's due I listened to BOAD and they are actually trying to improve and gain new listeners and the last 2 shows prove that.

That photo with the Beatles is fucking stupid. Is it supposed to be funny? To be funny, there should be something "to get." This just sucks. I would call Robb a talentless hack, but even hacks have some level of work ethic.

The photo is classic Robb: run an inside joke straight into the ground repeatedly.

In Robb's world, loud and/or repetitive = funny.

Apparently, it's a "tradition",so that makes it acceptable...Until you find out how the act became a tradition anyway...Then you feel sorry for Robb...Again...

I agree, they do sound like they are actually trying again...I enjoyed the guest as well...Of course, he could have come on TMOS when they were out at CES, but Robb would have just talked over him and Mike wouldn't have been interested because Dan didn't have anything to "gift" him...

And for fuck's sake, Robb, learn to use the reverse camera on your iPhone. You really don't have to take selfies in the mirror anymore.

I listened to the Rob and Joe show again today. It is very good. It reminds me of the early years of Don and Mike - before we knew them well. Rob and Joe sound like guys you will get to know and enjoy. I can no longer listen to Mike who I've found to be an alcoholic mean person who makes fun of injured people and is basically square and unfunny. I won't listen anymore unless I hear that something horrible has happened with the show. I don't expect it to last much longer.

But Rob and Joe seem like a fresh start with new personalities who seem funny and interesting. Let's see where they go.....

That's a beautiful quote. The irony of Mike saying this does not occur to him. Why? Because Elvis took DRUGS - not alcohol. See the big difference? No?????

Oh, God. I just listened to Robb's explanation of how the "tradition" of the selfie-with-album photo got started. Talk about stupid. "This one time, this guy asked me if I had this album, so instead of just saying 'Yeah, I have it,' I went and took a picture of myself with that album, and ever since then, I just do that." Let's also hear it for Robb's impossibly thin skin on display in that segment as well-- that dude truly doesn't know how to take a punch. He could take lessons from Drab on BOAD, who regularly gets flayed by Chad in particular, but who gives as good as he gets.

That said, what should have been a funny, passing shot at Robb-- "By the way, Robb, those pictures you post of yourself in the mirror when you get a new CD? Are about the most womanly thing I've ever seen"-- was brilliantly made into the focus of a full segment by Team Leader O'Meara, with predictable results. I cannot imagine why any radio outlet would not want this edgy, hip, red-hot program on their airwaves with such content. Hour after hour of such content. Every week.

Rob and Joe had already reached Top 100 comedy Podcast status before being added to the network. They must have looked like easy pickin's with no name recognition outside of DC area. It's Mickey is not ranked.

FailCast (36)
Rob and Joe Show (88)

It's going to get ugly when they pass the LFF crew.

The Vegas and Florida shows have been noticeably better than usual. Part of it is the minimal opening skits. Also, I THINK the interjections from Robb have calmed down bc of the Skype connection.

Exceptions: Sherman and snowstorm conversations. Big regression to the mean.

Mike was giving Rob some shit on the show. Whether it's just for the show's sake or if deep down Mike is hating Rob that day? I don't know.

Calling Rob lazy or something for not driving in for the show. Telling him he should be more like his dad. Then that stupid Elvis and selfie segment.

I'm with you there! As a "black" it was very off putting. Look I'm not über sensitive it's all about perception and you can't tell where chad is coming from with his racist comments or "schtick" that he like to hide behind.

If you listen to somebody for 7 years (BOAD...though I remember Stalker Chad very clearly) or 15+ years (Mike) you can read the undercurrent in their voices a little bit. That little bit of anger or hate when talking about former cast members, in Mike's case, is totally different from the anger you hear when he's talking about the weatherman.

Chad's voice on some of these The Blacks lines was really creepy. I still end up downloading it twice a week, but it's a weird ans disturbing part .

At least twice a week I wonder how Oscar sits next to these maniacs.

Its just a little unnecessary. I think its just his comedy crutch in a lot of ways. Also, I think many of those jokes are made to humor specific members of the "peanut gallery," and he forgets to focus on the listeners. Not to make this all about BOAD though.

Not to derail the TMOS hate, but I really wish someone would stand up to Dukes more on BOAD. It's clear he considers himself the king of the castle, and woe to the person who busts his balls. Drab occasionally will get a zinger in there, but man I wish someone would crack a few good ones his way. Schmoscar just lets it go right by.

It's a weird dynamic. The peanut gallery is consistently mostly Chad's friends (maybe Drab's?). Oscar almost seems like an outsider..and someone should really tell Dukes there's a reason everyone like Drab. Drab is actually likable.

It's a shame because Dukes is one of the most talented personality's of this whole bunch.

Back to TMOS! I despise this "because [the audience] gets it" business. It infers that there's an inside joke. Something intelligent under the surface. I'm an every day listener, and it just is what it is. I'm embarrassed to play it on long car rides with my girlfriend, and refuse to share it when people ask for podcast suggestions. Jordan Jesse Go or Carolla get those nods. Give it a break, Mike.

There is one other person who use to use "IT" a lot. Maybe it is true that the only people left listening to the failcast get "IT".

If you have to chastise people because they don't "get it," it's obvious there is nothing to get. Maybe what Mike is doing is just stupid and lame.

For instance, I love the whole "you don't get British humor" thing. You know who gets British humor? Never married engineers in their 50s and record store workers in their 20s who will debate the superior quality of vinyl for hours. Both groups are borderline autistic and think saying "spam" repeatedly is comic gold (like a certain aspergian former DJ we all know).

No, Mike. There's nothing to get. You just aren't funny.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I still listen to TMOS daily. I have largely a like/hate relationship with the podcast. For instance, on a Wednesday they may have a conversation that I enjoy... and the next day I'm fast-forwarding through 20 minutes of birthdays.

I recently had my first kid, who's maybe a few months older than Michael Jr. I believe it was today on the show that Mike declared that he watches TV a lot because that's what you do when you have a little baby. This statement was very perplexing, as I've found considerably less time to watch "the boob tube" since my son was born. Sure, the kid goes to bed around 7pm, but then I spend time doing things such as cleaning and organizing the finances. Is this not the norm? Am I incredibly inefficient as a parent?

Then again, I also sleep with a baby monitor six inches from my head, sans ear plugs.

LFF was also the guy pounding multiple bottles of wine that a listener sent in when his wife was full-term and could have gone into labor at any second....So, like a reasonable adult, your parenting decisions and skills have probably been quite different from the very beginning.

When my kids were babies I had them out of the house constantly because I didn't want to be stuck in front of a TV all day. You can take babies to the mall, museums, botanical gardens, play groups, etc. Of course, Mike's idea of "going out" consists of bars, strip clubs and casinos, so, no, you can't leave the house with a baby.

While I agree the show is pretty terrible, I find the majority of posts here intolerably whiny/repetitive/unfunny, but every once in a while one stands out. I never noticed it until someone pointed out FDB's verbal crutch of 'incidentally', and now every time I hear it I cringe. Decided to make a count on today's show: 8 times!!! Mix it up professional D double E J, e.g.; also, by the way, not to mention, speaking of, by the bye, etc...

Here's another one you that often follows a news story or piece from the audio vault: 'I love that' or 'I like that.'You'll see it when LFF has nothing at all to add to a story and needs a way to move on ASAP.

"Hi Mike" hits the nail on the head. After a lame audio vault replay of a Conan bit about why some Hispanics support Chris Christie in NJ (spoiler: he is fat, so they can hit him like a pinata and candy will fall out)

LFF:
"I love that, that's great. That's one of my favorite Conan jokes of all time."

LOLScar is doing his high pitched fake laugh, Blob(b) is laughing at his own cut and paste joke... just utter shite all around. It was a throwaway joke for Conan, but the Failcast treats it as one of their favorites of all time, completely ignoring whatever superlatives they heaped on the last joke Blobb played off YouTube. Lazy. Just terribly lazy and sad. Complacent, out of touch, unfunny and pathetic. Things are clearly going downhill since LFF is living in front of the "Magic Box" 24/7 now. Everyone is stepping all over each other. Oscar was literally, hand to god, raising his hand today to get FDB's attention to make a comment. The stupid Cocoon bit is now part of the show, and it "won't ever die."

Got old pretty damn quick, though. I'm in the mood to vomit... Simply because they've made a Cocoon reference every fucking day that Mike has been in Florida!

We know that Mike checks this board once in a while. OK, he probably reads it daily. The point is that everything we gripe about continues to happen. Any chance some of this shit is being run into the ground at least partly because they think it's pissing people off and that's fun for them?

It's gotten acceptable for them to just play a YouTube clip and briefly, and verbally, nod in approval. What the hell is this?

Whatever you think of these guys, this isn't the best use of their talents. Each of these guys has made me roar in laughter before, but they do boring stuff that barely scratches the surface of humor.

Basketball analogy, for the sports fans here: this is like Josh Smith of the Pistons taking 5 three pointers a night, when he's a terrible jump shooter.

Bad use of resources.

Rob(b)'s made you roar in laughter? I'm confounded. Chuckle, maybe, rarely; mutter in frustration, more often; change the channel (when they were still on radio); very often.

Robb was only funny when he was directed to do something funny by Don which usually iinvolved him being humiliated, like standing by the side of the road dressed as a Pilgrim. Once Robb was given the opportunity to contribute what he thought was funny, any laughter was strangled in it's crib.

Who had January 24th in the pool? It seems LFF couldn't make it for his own show today. Unless I have missed it, I don't think Rob(b) or Oscar have given any explanation. I don't know if that means there is no good explanation or if something serious has happened, just reporting. Although, if Vegas were putting odds on the reason, I would say alcoholism would be a -2000.

Don't forget the segment about the fat woman with her enabler husband.
O'Meara thought that was disturbing. All I kept thinking about was the parallel to O'Meara's life.

Maybe he's subconsciously letting people around him know he needs an intervention.

This is becoming SOOO painful. Even more than usual.

My only problem is they will be in denial right to the end and we'll never have the satisfaction of hearing them be truthful about the end of the fraudcast® when it does come.

There will just be krew circle-jerk guffaws to the end and then there won't be a show.

Then they'll just blame someone/something else for the shows failure.

p.s. Robb, you are a talentless sycophantic hyena. I am rubbing my hands in anticipation of your imminent destruction.

Oscar explained on the Big O and Dukes show that they usually take a loss on live shows on that side. This is pretty interesting. TMOS will usually attract double or triple the guests, but they pay a live band as well, I'm assuming, hand more money over to the venue since TMOS uses a bigger and better venue than BOAD. You have to assume that even if TMOS makes triple the amount, after you subtract the band and the venue cost, there's no way they are making much at all. Guess this explains why they don't do very many of them. We know Mike is a lazy fat fuck, but he also needs booze and gambling money. If he truly was making thousands of dollars from live shows, they'd be doing one per month.

TMOS, minus Mike, plus overmedicated/under-rested Oscar? Two thumbs up.

Eh, halfway up, anyway. Robb's not a comic genius, but I found him 1000 times more tolerable without the kissing up to Mike. And Oscar slurring his way through the show...okay. That was funny.

It kinda reminded me of the funny TMOS I used to like. Maybe Mike's descended further into negativity and addiction than I'd realized. But it was fun. Not a home run, but fun.
