I'd do it right now if I could. People don't realize, it's not a simple thing to kill yourself. You can't just decide to kill yourself and be done with it, just like that. You need either access to poisons or pills or the right information on how to physically and hopefully painlessly stop your heart from beating. It's not quick or easy. You have to study for it.

The story was plagiarized ya dummy. He didn't write all that; Jack London wrote it.

"Mr Misery" is just some worthless troll incapable of anything but leading you fools around by the nose for his own amusement. Stop feeding his threads.

He's not a genius, he's not suicidal, and he's not even real. He's a phoney-baloney taking advantage of people stupid enough to fall for his nonsense.

Dear Miz,

Please read the below excerpt from the excellent and insightful "Suicidal Mind" by Edwin S. Shneidman. (The passage set smaller is an historical aside that is not critical to the main thrust of his argument.)

Also, don't forget "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl.................... and "Ikiru."

Cheers,

PA

Tucker Max had stories to tell. Not just a series of single sentence comments. Plus, Tucker had ghost writers help with his book. It's all about having the reader eavesdrop into an amazing life that most will never experience. It's all about embellishing a few mischievous events and making it all seem larger than life.

All Mr. Misery needs is a ghost writer and a gimmick angle. You got Tucker's gimmick. Find out what you're doing that lets people laugh at your furshlugginer life and be glad they're not in it.

Remember the mighty AL BUNDY of Married With Children??? Do you sell shoes to fat women in a dying shopping mall? Are you in a marriage from hell with worthless children? Were you once a high school football hero and have never regained that pathetic glory? BE AL BUNDY! Achieve fame on the back of shame!

MongoLloyd, remember when The Hideout had that crazy "Dr. Pecos" on the show......he was talking about zombies and how he worked for a governent program to eradicate the zombie threat, and on a mission, he fell through the floorboards of an old building and got bitten by a zombie, and then someone called in and asked where Batman stood on the zombie issue, and Dr. Pecos said "well, Batman is sort of a lone wolf....he works outside the confines of the government"? THat was really cool.

I miss Sir Gary the Propeht and expecially Captain Spaulding. You know what, I think I actually met Captain Spaulding once when I was in the mental hospital when I lived in Florida about 6 years ago. Guy sounded just like Captain Spaulding.

OMG, I DO REMEMBER! HAHAHAHA!!! The Hideout Rawks. Which Hideout character best describes your life, Mr Miz? Chunks? Matt Albert? Gazoo? Any of the regular callers?

The Hideout just gets better over time as an iPod archive. The Hideout will truly become a timeless show that should be broadcast as radio's first syndicated rerun.

I'm Chunks all the way, dooo. I have the big pile of clothes on my floor and everything. I don't sleep on it, but that's where I put my dirty clothes (and clean cothes)....just toss em on the floor. Chunks is my hero. I based my main character in a comic book story on Chunks.

a character actor-o is an actor who specializes in playing a certain type of character (so, typecast is somewhat accurate), but they can also play other character types. THe main thing is that they are NOT the leading man in the movie, ever. Always a supporting player, often one who has played similar characters in the past.

Steve Buscemi is a little too famous in my opinion to be considered a character actor. I think character actors are generally not as famous as 'leading men'.....if they do become as famous as a Brad Pitt or a Tom Cruise, then I think they belong to a different category then.

Catch A Fire.....also Soul Rebels......African Herbsman is a great compliation by Trojan Records of some of the earlier, Lee Scratch Perry produced Wailers, including the original versions of Duppy Conqueror and Small Ax, which I much prefer to the versions on Burnin', The Wailers last album as a real band.

hatmeter, don't you think the Peter Tosh version of Get Up, Stand Up on his album Equal Rights is far better than the Wailers version?

you like Bunny Wailer's Blackheart Man album? S'good stuff, right?

how many actual reggae BANDS were there? Seems to me like bands in classic reggae are really few and far between. Mostly solo artists backed by session players, vocal trios and quartets, and the production teams of the dub engineers like Perry, Tubby, Scientist, Prince Jammy, etc.

you've got:

The Wailers, but only after they stopped being the Wailing Wailers, right? Back then they were a vocal group backed by various session players, most notably The Skatalites.

Third World

The Revolutionaries? not sure

Toots & the Maytals......were really a vocal trio backed by session players, right? I guess they don't count.

The Upsetters, maybe......I don't know much about who played what with The Upsetters, or if it was a revolving line-up......tough call

Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, but only after they stopped playing ska and rocksteady

The Abyssinians, Culture, The Heptones, as far as I know where all vocal groups, which does not a 'band' make, in my humble opinion.

Harry J Allstars, The Hippy Boys, Joe Gibbs & The Professionals......too tough to tell. All seemed like studio projects. Am I wrong?

Black Uhuru, but that's getting a little out of the 'classic' category

if we wanna go non-jamaican reggae, there's Aswad, UB40, Symarip, and Steel Pulse.

so I can only come up with 3 for sure authentic, classic reggae BANDS off the top of my head. And Byron Lee is kinda questionable....

your thoughts, hamtaro?

Symarip is underrated......Skinhead Moonstomp? That's great stuff. Must Catch A Train? Stay With Him? Great band.
