I'm pretty much 50/50 on the matter; Should I do it?

Dunny joke. Wasn't there an article recently about a site where some idiot killed himself live?

If you are asking this question seriously, and not just being a smart ass, then the answer is NO, don't kill yourself.

If you are "50/50" about killing yourself, then ask yourself how you will feel when you are dead. Did you know that you will be DEAD? Did you know that being DEAD is pretty much being DEAD?

Have you tried to imagine how killing yourself will change anything other than BEING DEAD???

Do you think it will show the people who picked on you? It will only make you DEAD.

Do you think it will change the world? It will only make you DEAD.

If you want to kill yourself, you should try to think about how you can get revenge against the people who made fun of you for being an emo, or how you can be like bill gatews.

Though I would love to know how this world would be if Bill Gates had copped out and killed himself instead of starting up Microsoft.

Did you know that some guy killed himself live on some site recently, and they are now trying to place blame upon various members of the site?

I'm just saying. Do you want to take the blame?

Vindictive much?

"for being an emo"- are you an emo, Bob?

As far as the suicide goes...I say do what you feel is right. Make a decision, and stick to it!

Dear Bob,

Due to your hearfelt response and concern for the OP, I have decided to end my war against you. However, if you return to your pompous and arrogant ways, I will be forced to return and vanquish you from the realm of Fairfax Underground.

if this is a real post, get some antidepressants because the worlds is a much different place. however, if you insist on killing yourself, be sure to make a live webcam feed as it brings attention to the issue and makes you famous at the same time. perhaps buy a kitten.

If you're willing to accept the irreparable harm and pain it causes the people that survive you, then call a suicide hotline and talk to them. If you still want to off yourself after seeking help, then make sure you leave enough money for the people that will have to settle your debts, and kill yourself outside in such a way that doesn't leave a big mess for some other poor bastard to clean up.

that is the most selfish approach to suicide. "stay alive and be horribly depressed because i dont want to deal with you dying."

fuck you.

I say you are worthless and the world is better off without you. Kill yourself.

Also, make sure you use a sawed-off shotgun placed with barrel end touching the roof of your mouth. Cut deep notches in the slug, to make sure it fragments, for optimal damage. That way, you will have a closed casket and nobody will be able to spit on your dead body as you seem to so richly deserve.

If you do decide to kill yourself, do it in the privacy of your own home.
Do NOT threaten to jump off the Wilson or Roosevelt Bridges or anywhere else where that would cause traffic jams.

I and many others have been caught in traffic while some douchebag like yourself can't even make a simple decision whether or not to kill him/herself. This, in itself, makes you a total loser.

Go get yourself a pogo stick and start pogoing. You can't be sad when your on a pogo stick.

I doubt you are serious, but if you are keep in mind that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. You may think people will finally pay attention to you, but you won't be around to soak it in. You won't be floating above watching your funeral. If you believe in God, you will be too busy burning in Hell to attend your own funeral. If you are not religious, your body will be dead and your "soul" or consciousness will no longer exist, so you will miss all the fun of seeing people who treated you like shit crying over you like you were best buds.

Life is pointless anyway. You might as well. Either you off yourself now in your prime, or suffer through some terrible disease later and end up dying anyway. It really makes no difference.

Personally, I wouldn't "kill myself". I'd rob a bank and go out in a blaze of glory. Best case scenario: You are rich and have an adrenaline rush. Worst case: You get caught and you blow your brains out before you get apprehended. Either way you win.

All jokes aside, Registered Voter has the best advice. I have had to confront those issues myself as an adult and decided that if the situations in life get bad enough, better to just get in a car, drive out of state, and start over somewhere. You can always get forgiveness and resolve whatever consequences of bailing out are over time... kinda like the blue screen of death. Hit the life reset button and start over rather than end it. Might as well try, nothing to lose if you are already considering suicide.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with you, but yes, I am very familiar with depression, and I've had people in my life commit suicide. If the people who wrote "Everyone will be better off without me" could see the impact they actually have on the survivors, they would know they're not doing anybody a favor but themselves.

Every person with depression thinks about killing themselves at one point. For every depressed person out there that kills themselves, though, there are thousands more like me that decided not to.

Now, I'll go fuck myself with the biggest thing I can find, but that doesn't change the fact that suicide is selfish.

One of our family member's husbands just killed himself last month with a 9mm. Shot himself right in the head. Suicide isn't a matter to be taken lightly, but I do believe people who do it/attempt it are and HAVE BEEN mentally ill for awhile. This wasnt his first attempt at it either. We had learned through his family that his first attempt was when he was 12. I say seek help, do what you gotta do, but ultimately if you are contemplating it then you will most likely find a way. Suicide is definitely for the WEAK.

NO! Like someone mentioned before, suicide is a permament solution to a temporary problem.

I am not sure if you are legitmate or not, but if you are the least bit familiar with this site then you should know not to expect serious heartfelt responses, I learned the hardway. But you have gotten more serious attention then I expected with the exception of some.

If you are play'in then at least this subject gets covered. If you are not then I realize you must feel as though you have the weight of the world on your shoulders, lonely, hopeless, or lost. But this will pass, who or what is getting to you, but don't let it get the best of you. We were all put here with a special purpose to achieve in this life and not only would you be cheating yourself of that discovery but all of us as well.

You need to talk to someone immediately. If you are younger then talk to a teacher you trust or some adult, call the 24 hour hotline at Woodbine that was
listed previously, but talking to someone helps alot. If your an adult it's possible you are feeling this way because of the economy or something else entirely. The same numbers I mentioned can offer suggestions, or a friend, church, google for other 1-800 numbers that are available. Get in touch with me, but don't kill yourself. Life is a gift and you should treat it that way and don't let anyone or anything try to destroy your spirit, that was given to YOU, and only you, to honor him and yourself with.

Look at KFC, when the Col. retired and got his first retirement check he felt like a failure. So he used that retirement money and started making chicken and look where that took him. Anything is possible with the right attitude.

Stop that stink'in think'in and think happier thoughts now.

Is that the only other option? There are lots of people who have contemplated and even attempted suicide who got help and didn't pull some stupid shit where they killed others.

In fact, when you compare suicide rates to the rate of workplace, school or post office shootings, I think you'll see how unusual and statistically insignificant it really is.

>

I don't know. I was a stoner in high school. I didn't dress in dark clothes and listen to Depeche Mode or anything. I don't think we even had "emo" kids back in the 80's. We just figured they were gay or something.

I was a stoner who dressed like a preppy. Besides, I was pretty happy about life and was always looking forward to the next party or for summer break.

I think a lot of people on this site would give you the very same advice. Decide to kill yourself, and then stick to it. Don't be a quitter.

Wow. I'm honored.

If you really did agree with my sentiments, that's great. Now you might understand that people who have different ideas or beliefs than you do might have those ideas and beliefs for valid reasons.

Stop buying into the divide and conquer strategy. It doesn't serve us, it serves the people who have turned our government away from representation into a system of "leading" and control.

If you don't like what I have to say, at least know that I only say it because of my heartfelt and thoughtful consideration of the facts.

I was picked on in 6th grade, for a while, because I had just moved here from Hawaii, but by 7th grade, I was accepted. It took classmates a while to figure out who I was, and I took a while to learn the lay of the land. I had never heard the word "nigger" until I moved here, and there was other things I needed to learn about before I fit in.

I knew about the people going to the foundry and that sort of stuff, but I just figured they were shooting up heroine or doing other hard drugs.

Yes, I was in the woods smoking weed, and listening to Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, and we laughed at the kids that seemed to be lost or confused and changing their appearance.

Straighedge kids are fucked up. They are worse than stoners or drinkers. They act like dickheads and do stupid shit without the excuse of chemicals.

I rented a basement to a former straight-edge kid about 5 or 6 years ago who was more nuts than any of my most craziest stoner friends. He thought it was funny that he drove 80 miles an hour through Franklin Farms and ran off the road and slammed into a homeowner's wooden fence. His answer to his car being totalled by landing on a fence post was "that fucker shouldn't have hat a fence in the middle of his yard when he knew he lived on a curve in the road. Was he trying to kill people like me??"

And that straight-edge idiot has a more reasonable brother who worked for Fox News Channel, Patrick Dorsey, back then.

sounds to me like your entire movement was messed up.

Yes, the kids who hung out in the actual foundry were your beloved straightedge crowd.

They were dry drunks, basically.

Stupid kids who were afriad to drink or do drugs, but who probably should have done drugs and went to rehab.

I like to think so, but then I come onto the internet and I realize my insensitivity is so inadequate.

Maybe I should have suggested he do it with pills, or pour gasoline on himself and light a match?

If you're going to do it, at least make it awesome. Light yourself on fire and jump off a building into a big pile of running chainsaws.

burning yourself is the most painful way to go, not to mention you may actually survive it.

A heartfelt - "You all are pretty fucked up" for making any comments to the effect of "do it now".

That lawsuit someone referenced earlier about defamation or whatever, something like that could take on new meaning in a case where the person you told to kill themselves is a kid and their parents find this site in some kind of investigation.

Seriously, not something to joke about - not even if the post was a joke. If you want to give someone stupid advice, stand in front of a mirror. But as much as we joke about other subjects on here, it really pisses me off when you all make asinine comments in regards to this kind of topic.

Note to Vince - this is a true story. About a month and a half ago a friend of our family (a good friend of my mother), they were having some family issues, and their son was not getting on well. He was evidently farther gone than anyone knew - after arguing with his father, he walked upstairs, grabbed a gun (not sure if it was his or his parents) and then walked down, stood in front of his father and blew his own brains out. I believe he made some comment to them right before he pulled the trigger.

The family was and is devastated. So you know what, why don't you all step up to the plate once in a while and act like human beings and say the right thing, instead of just treating everything like some big joke. We have threads here that are truly just for fun, that is great - but in cases like this if you have nothing good to say, then just SHUT THE FUCK UP. There are more then enough other threads for you to post your stupid, fucked up, moronic, bull shit.

My comments were just as true with spunky before she decided to lump me in with the rest of her cabal of folks on here that antagonize her to no end. I have dealt with a number of folks who are on the internet, depressed, and need help. It seems to come with the territory. Two of them committed suicide after coming into games and asking for help. So please, just go easy on stuff like this. If you think the poster is just pulling a joke on you, then IGNORE THE THREAD. I mean seriously, are you that hard up to have something to say? I thought some of you here try to represent that you are highly educated and professional? Because you all seem to be the ones with the least important things to say here.

Well, I didn't lump you in with the "highly educated" group, so I expect you to make a comment like that.

What, you have a problem with folks actually expressing honest opinions? Or speaking the truth? Oh right, I guess its easy to play like nothing matters when you hide behind a name.

Registered Voter,

The old punk band Suicidal Tendencies just played in Baltimore the night before this was posted, so it's probably just someone fucking around. That's why I wrote that about getting hit by a car, it's a lyric from one of their songs. There's no way I'd take this one seriously.

That is fine, just seriously, I don't think anyone here wants to be responsible for another person taking their life. Period. If it is a joke, that is all fine, but I didn't see anything in the OP that made that clear. We can assume whatever we want, but I think folks should err on the safe side for issues like this. If the OP makes it clear it is a joke, then more power to you.

You guys are so insensitive, not to mention interfering with my fucking business. If he kills himself, I get his delicious, cream-filled soul. What, hard time dealing with your already guilty conscience so you have to take it out on folks when they remind you that you are saying things your parents wouldn't be proud of? I assume they must have "preached" to you also.

I didn't put anything religious in my statements - but I guess even being human is a bit beyond your understanding? You see religion in everything? Please.

I asked for a bit of decency - I guess you have no clue on that front. Go back to GTA4, or whatever it is you are playing and let the other folks get on with life.

All kiddinfg aside, Registered Voter is right... recommending he take pills, shoot himself, and my other suggestions were just wrong.

I now realize my error and I would like to retract those statements... I definitely should have suggested he electrocute himself to death. A spectacular finale.

lol, it fucks with my head that Suicidal Tendencies are around for 25 years.

What a great 80s-style video. The old-school Pittsburgh Pirate hat and styrofoam pepsi bottles totally give it away.

They actually played this kinda shit on MTV back then!

I wasn't talking about the lawsuit against the mother who harrassed a daughter's friend. I was talking about Abraham Biggs who killed himself on a webcam feed on Justin.tv http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/article5203176.ece

Apparently people egged him on and encouraged him to kill himself.

You never know whether a suicide threat is a joke or not. I think the professional counselor rule is to always take any and all threats seriously.

I quote, "Abraham K. Biggs, from Broward County, Florida, announced his intention on an online forum, posted a suicide note on another and then took an overdose of pills in front of his webcam, broadcasting his final moments on Justin.tv."

Encouraging someone in that situation is incredibly stupid. The OP just wanted to stir up some shit.

Oh, come off it. Women are a lot more dramatic about it, and men tend to do it and not say anything about it. Unless this is someone who hates this message board so much that they're willing to kill themselves just so it's found out that we provoked him, it's bullshit.

I've seen enough people hoax their little suicides online to not believe the obvious fakes. If there was even the slightest chance that this was a for real suicide threat, I would be responding much differently.

32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: 33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, 34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again.
Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. 36 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. 37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted,[f] were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented— 38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, 40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. 1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
The Discipline of God

3 For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. 4 You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. 5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:

“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”[a]

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

What the fuck???

Dude, you're quoting some text from an 1800 year old book created by the roman empire, mixing Zoroastrianism and other pagan religions with the "word of jesus christ"??

And that is supposed to have meaning in the 21st century, how?

I just read Leviticus and now I feel I should be able to own slaves....

Leviticus 25:44-46: "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly." (NIV)

Leviticus 25:48-53: "After that he is sold he may be redeemed again; one of his brethren may redeem him: Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is nigh of kin unto him of his family may redeem him; or if he be able, he may redeem himself. And he shall reckon with him that bought him from the year that he was sold to him unto the year of jubilee: and the price of his sale shall be according unto the number of years, according to the time of an hired servant shall it be with him."

Well I like the idea of getting a kitten. pets cheer you up. When my son had a ferret, I played with the ferret all the time and he made me laugh no matter how I felt.

You could also exercise. Remember in the movie "Legally Blonde" Elle says it gives you endorphins. I work in a gym and everyone leaves in a good mood.

Good luck to you. A good night's sleep will give you a different outlook.

Hugs,

Wow. I wish I was some "riTchie riTch trust fund kid from Mclean". My life would have been so much easier, under those circumstances. But then again, I would probably have made the same mistakes as people like you, who are over-extended, over-indebted and upside-down in their mortgages and car loans.

I earned every penny and stayed out of debt and paid off my townhouse. I'm sure you resent people like me even more than "trust fund RITCHIE RITCHES" because we didn't fall into the same traps that you did.

How's your SUV and McMansion doing for you lately? How soon will the sheriff be knocking on your door to evict your from your bank-owned home?

This is coming from a tool who spends half his life in a piece of shit hole in the wall pub. I know who you are, and you are a ball faced liar. Take you're wannabe Mustang and shove it up your ass, you old, dried up, Boozer!

It is "bald faced liar", idiot.

And you have no idea who I am. I don't spend any of my life in some hole in the wall pub. I know which pub you're talking about, but I've only been in there a half-dozen times in my life.

I suspect you drink more than I do, being up at this hour. I have an excuse since I am actually working right now, while you are probably just coming home from a bar or are drinking at home alone.

I don't know how I set you off, what I said that destroyed your happy little world, but whatever it was, it couldn't have been very earth shattering. Whatever it was, you should get over it.

Oh, wait, you might be that guy that gave a girl herpes. Tiffany hates you now, Michael. She bought you your scooter so you could go to work after you lost your license, but when she found out that you knew you had herpes before you two even started dating, she told everyone (not that we all didn't already know.)

You might have mentioned Miterism the ancient pagan practice of drinking blood etc. In history there were pagan counteerfits of the bible accounts all through history. I found the scripture powerful and pertinant to suffering. The ancient biblical prophets all kept the faith even when dieing by the sowrd, stoning, even being sawn in two as Isaiah was said to be. But today we have reality of Jesus. More then 500 saw him reserected. They in turn told others. This is difficult to counterfit.

Slave ownership is today generally frowned upon. Although the ideea of serving another is I think a noble thing. Slavery as practiced umong ancient Isreal was a one on one thing in which individuals who broke property concepts were enslaved. Today we have indeptidness and incarceration. INCARCERATION seems to me to result in making people worse, though not slaves.

“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the LORD loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.”[a]

Now see, Rod is the kind of person that makes religion look bad.

Rod, if we wanted a religious sermon in our lives, there are as many churches in this world as there are CVSs and Starbucks - ok maybe more, but it seems like there are churches on every corner. So if we need religion in our lives, we will get it on our own thanks.

I have a brother who is a born again Christian, and he is the same way. There are times I am glad he lives in another state.

Don't do it. If you don't value your life you should sign up for the war in Iraq. I can help you get in. I just got back recently and I am going back to avenge my fallen brethren. Seriously, don't do it. Life is a gift.

Alias, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. Seriously. You're a mother...I would think, being a mother, you would have better sense than to encourage some dumb kid over the internet to kill themselves. Cary should have taken this thread down...nothing good could possibly have come from it.

I once told my own daughter that she had 10 minutes to get home or I'd strangle her.
