2. The smith troll has been taunting nova teams for many long years, posts/posted under various names but it's there if you read carefully. he says the same insults and trash about nova, centreville, westfield, soco and now madison football.
3. in the years when non-nova teams win states he's right! and it reinforces in his mind that everything he says is now proven. he also has this strange argument that if your team won states 5 years ago and now they have a losing season that means they were not a good team 5 years ago.
4. in the years when a nova team wins state (2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019) he finds excuses, whines and cries a little bit... stays silent for awhile then returns for more of the same.

Concorde, you obviously aren't familiar with Smith's Coaching staff. Today will prove that Coach Scott & his staff are at another level vs ANY Northern VA group along the sidelines. Ya just gotta come out of the mid 20teens into THIS decade. You can blame recruiting IF you want to but at some point, reality will set in. I'm watching this game on NFHS, Oscar Smith definitely is the more talented team, too many athletes. What I'm surprised at is the poor tackling displayed by Madison.

Why are they trying to tackle above the waist/shoulder pad level. It's amazing how many poor attempts there have been not to mention taking horrible angles. I can't believe the Madison coaches teach that technique so it's on the players for their lackluster effort.

Don't get me wrong, even with good form tackling Madison still wasn't going to win, but it might have been a little closer. Also, how embarrassing is it to give up a TD on a botched FG attempt, from what, 30 plus yards out, sad!

- Riverheads won their 6th State championship in a row yesterday against Galax, 45-14. 6 in a row, wow. Wonder what the record is for consecutive State Championships.

Class 2: King William v. Graham (-7)
- King William won 48-21. Again, I was clueless about both schools.

Class 3: Phoebus v. Liberty Christian (-5)
- Phoebus won 22-14, hell of a win for them in what was essentially a true road game against the VA Gatorade POY. Congrats to the Phantoms.

Class 4: Varina v. Broad Run (-8)
- Varina won 28-21, Broad Run really let me down here. They were down 7-28 at one point so kudos on the comeback. Close, but no cigar.

Class 5: Maury v. Stone Bridge (-9)
- Stone Bridge wins 27-21, also winning back-to-back State Titles. Jacob Thomas only threw the ball 3 times in the first half, as they only had the ball for 6:45 of a 24 minute half. The momentum change happened, in my opinion, in the 2nd when Madison missed that 40 yard FG wide right. After that miss, Kevon King had a huge run. Speaking of him, he impressed the hell out of me. Madison made it 14-10 at one point, but FGs aren't enough to keep up with Smith. Amonte Jones also impressed me at receiver, not as much as King. Madison had a beautiful punt that had Smith at their own 2, King takes the handoff and goes 98 yards to the house. Can't believe he has no college offers. Anyway, congrats to Smith and Madison on good seasons.
